Chapter 14

Alexandra's POV

"Hello sir Vincent."

"Hello Alexandra dear." He hugged me. Then I hugged his wife.

"Elli hi." I squealed. I may have seen her one time but I loved her immediately.

"Hello Alex how are you?"

"I'm fine."

"Are you here for her or me?" Brandon said entering the room. They all laughed and hugged him.

"Hello my courageous grandson."

"Hello grandfather."

"Grandpa!" Anna yelled entering the room and hugging her grandparents.

"Hey mom and dad." Lea was the last to come in . She hugged her parents and Elli.

"When are you leaving?" Vincent asked Brandon.

"Tonight. I want you all to promise me that you'll be safe while I'm gone." He looked into my eyes.

"I'm still alive son." Ace laughed.

We were now seated in the living room. My parents and Harry were here too. Brandon's uncle was here too with his wife and their sleeping newborn baby.

"What does the king of Krayelon want?"

"He wants us all dead. After I killed Arnold Barnes the former king, his son wants revenge." Uncle Ace explained.

"He deserved to die. He attacked with his soldiers while we were grieving the death of king Henry, Ace's father." Lea said.

"Yeah I remember that day. You were so brave Lea." Uncle Ace kissed her.

"Ew mom dad!!" Anna screamed while we all laughed. Except Brandon obviously.

The night came . It was time for Brandon to leave Emerland with his soldiers. We were all waiting next to the carriage for their departure. Lea had tears in her eyes, while uncle Ace looked proud. Brandon is really a son any parent can be proud of. He kissed his mother and Anna's cheeks and hugged his father. He then came to me.

"I trust you with doing my duties. I'm sure I'm leaving them in good hands princess." He kissed my cheek and I blushed. I knew it was an act because lots of people were here to bid him goodbye. He stepped into the carriage and they left the castle's entrance.

"Long live prince Brandon of Emerland." They all shouted bowing while he left.

"Thank you for your presence. The prince will be back in maximum a week. There is food in the big room for you all."

"Long live the king!" They cheered.

The next day.

"Come on Conor I'm ready for us to leave."

"Yes my Lady."

"Alex you're leaving?"

"Yes I won't take long. I'll be back for lunch."

"Okay dear." Lea hugged me and I left the castle to town.

"Where is our first stop?"

"To the orphanage." Conor replied. Great I love seeing kids.

Once we arrived I was greeted by the same lady I first saw when I came here with Brandon. She led me outside where the kids were playing freely. I watched them for sometime until I decided to talk to them.

"Hey kids."

"ALEXA!" They ran and hugged me.

"How do you guys know my name." One girl wanted to answer and they all listened to her. They were adorable.

"Prince Brandon told us to call you Alexa like him. But only him and us can call you that." She said in hushed tone like it was a secret.

"How are you today?"

"We're fine thank you." They said simultaneously.

"Do you want to play ?"

"Let's play hide and seek." The same girl screamed.

"Okay." I said laughing.

"I'm Aurora by the way." She said blushing. She is the cutest person ever.

"How old are you Aurora?"

"I'm 6 years old."

"Wow you're big. I have two sisters, they're 7."

"Can we meet them?"

"I'm sure I'll bring them with me next time." I said.

We spent the next 2 hours playing. They were all happy but missed Brandon terribly. He always came to see them and it was the first time he was gone. I hope he's okay. As much as I don't want to say it but I miss him. A lot too. Maybe I'm starting to like him which is wrong. I'm the one that wants him to go back with Elena. Plus I know he loves her and not me. I just can't help it. Everyday when I'm called the prince's fiance my heart would beat faster. It has been 3 weeks since I was announced as his fiance and 4 weeks since I'm here in Emerland. A month is spent here unlike what I had planned. I planned to stay here a year and go back to Graceland but now I'm finding it hard to leave Emerland. It's my home although I've been away for a long time.

"Conor I want to walk in the streets with people. Stop the carriage here."

"Yes my Lady."

I stepped down from the carriage with Conor and 2 other guards following me. The rest stayed with the carriage. I walked with everyone bowing to me. They all had kind smiles on their faces and I was glad.

"My lady! My lady!" A young girl came running to me.

"Conor let her come to me." He nodded and let her pass.

"What's wrong."

"Please my mom is sick and is dying. She needs help. No one is helping me and I'm alone."

"Conor bring the doctor immediately." The girl gave him her address and we went to her home.

I entered the old house. Although it was old it smelled divine. It gives the feeling of coziness. I lifted my gown and stepped on the stairs.

"Codie? Are you back already?" An old voice was heard.

"Yes mother. I'm here with a guest." We entered the room where her mother was laying. She looked pale and weak.

"Why didn't you report to the king? I'm sure he would have helped you."

"I know but Elena forbidden me from going to the castle 4 years ago."

"Why?"

"Because she thought I wanted to seduce the prince. I used to work at the castle but was fired by her, before she was caught cheating. But since then the guards wouldn't let me in."

"She's so cruel."

"Yes she is. I'm glad the prince got rid of her. He deserves someone like you!" She smiled a kind smile. We heard the royal trumpets and I knew Conor was here already.

"My Lady Doctor Lorenzo is here."

"Come on Codie let's leave the doctor to do his work." She nodded and we stood outside the house enjoying the atmosphere.
