Alexandra's POV

"I know what's happening." I looked at Maria strangely.

"Huh?"

"I know you and Brandon are only engaged so he can be crowned king and then you'll leave him to marry someone else."

"Did Brandon tell you?"

"Actually it was Andrew." She looked guilty.

"Oh."

"Don't worry Alex I just want to help you that's all."

"It's alright. I don't know what to do!" I exclaimed.

"Do you feel something for him?"

"When I'm around him my heart beats fast. When he call me Alexa and not Alex my heart skips a beat. I always want to talk with him. I want to be near him. I don't want to leave him. I don't know what love means I experienced it with the wrong person. But I do feel something for him you know."

"I understand. Me and Andrew were meant to be together. First we hated the idea that our parents already decided our fate but then we fell in love with each other. I gave him a chance and he tried and now we'll get married. Maybe if he gives you a chance you won't leave."

"No! It's for the best for me to leave." My eyes were glossy now.

"Why Alex? Whys is that you want to leave him so much although you feel something for him?" This was the question I was dreading the most.

"It's a secret I kept for two years. I just can't stay here. I must marry Johnny in order for Emerland to be safe. For Brandon to be safe." My voice quivered at the end.

"What's the secret?" Can I tell her? I've known her for a day and yet I'm willing to tell her.

"I'll tell you the story then. But promise me you won't tell anyone a word." I said with a serious expression.

"I promise. Not even Andrew will know this."

"Okay then."

Flashback 2 years ago.

"Alex! Lord Anthony is here. Come greet him." My dad always wanted me to meet the Lords here. It was all for my grandpa. I loved him so much and I wanted to do anything for him even if that is to sit with some old man.

"I'm coming dad." He kissed my cheek.

"Okay kiddo. We're waiting down stairs." I smiled at him.

I took a deep breath and left my room. Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm finally turning 16! Yay! I walked down the stairs and bumped into Harry.

"Hey Harry."

"Alex hurry Dad and grandpa are waiting for you."

"Oh I know I'll get going."

As I approached the living room I heard a nasty laugh. Well it was the most hated Lord for me. He always have that dark laugh and evil look. But he was an old friend of my grandpa so he was always welcome here. We have always treated him good and he never did something wrong so no harm in his presence as mom says. I wanted this encounter to end because I'm going to see Johnny and the girls.

"Hello." I said as I entered the room. All 4 heads turned to me.

"Hello Alexandra." Lord Anthony stood up and kissed my hand. I looked at my grandpa and he nodded that it was okay. It was the first time that he does something like this.

I took a seat next to my mom and she smiled down at me.

"We're leaving to Emerland." Dad announced.

"Now!!" The Lord exclaimed.

"No." My dad laughed. "Maybe in one month or so."

"Regina. Are you leaving me ?"

"Dad Jake was the duke and he left Emerland for us. And it's his wish to go back."

"But Harry-"

"Harry will come back to be the duke of Graceland." Dad cut him.

"And Alexandra?" The Lord asked.

"She's coming with us." He glared at me. What is wrong with him? I looked at my mom for help and she seemed to understand.

"Alex honey why don't you go check on Sia and Bella?" I was overjoyed. Thank god I'm escaping his gaze.

I went up to my room to change my gown and then I'll check up on the twins. A knock was heard. I didn't really want to talk to mom right now. The door opened and Lord Anthony entered. I screamed. He locked the door and slowly he walked towards me. I was in my undergarments and shaking.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"You won't leave Graceland."

"It's non of your business. It's my dad's decision. Get out." He throw me on the bed and started kissing my neck.

"No stop." I cried.

"Alex open the door. You son of a bitch if I catch you you're dead." My dad roared.

"Dad!" I screamed, but they couldn't open the door. I looked at the night stand there was a bottle of water. Suddenly all the adrenaline rushed in me and I took the bottle when he loosened his grip on me and smashed it on his head. He laid on the floor with blood oozing from his head. I took a broken piece and stabbed him in his heart. At that exact moment dad broke the door and entered. He halted when he saw all the blood.

"Alex what did you do?" My dad held a broken expression.

"D-dad I-I.... h-he's d-d-dead?" I screamed and my dad ran to my side.

"Get up and come with me. Georges take the body to the forest and throw him. Tell the maids to clean the room. I want no one outside these walls to know or you'll be all dead do you hear me?" My dad snarled at them. They nodded and started their mission.

My dad took me outside the room to Harry's room. He threw me inside with force. He was angry with me and I know. But I couldn't do anything else.

"Take a bath and sleep tonight with Harry."

Harry helped me to stand on my feet. Luckily he didn't question anything.

That night I couldn't sleep because of my nightmares and Lord Anthony's dead face hunted me.

End of flashback .

"Omg!" Maria had tears in her eyes. "I'm so sorry."

"Don't be." My voice broke.

"I don't understand why you want to leave Brandon and marry someone else!" She asked.

"Lord Anthony's family knew somehow that I was the reason behind the Lord's death. They want to kill me. My grandpa was so close to the king that he ensured my protection inside Graceland. That's why they attacked outside the borders. If I don't leave Brandon he'll get hurt. Emerland will be in danger and I can't stand it. Johnny will make sure I'm okay inside Graceland's territory. Plus he's close to the Lord's family. He can help me. I only want what's best for Brandon." At the end I was crying.

"I'm sorry honey. But Brandon must know. He can help y-"

"No! He can't know. Please it's my secret and I want it to stay between us. Please." She nodded.

"Why is Alexa crying?"
