Chapter 51

Alexandra's POV

I woke up with a throbbing headache. I tried to open my eyes fully and succeeded at the end. I looked around me, I was back in my room. Brandon was sleeping next to me but in a sitting position. He must've stayed the whole night watching me.

"Brandon." I shook him and he opened his eyes and shoot up.

"Alexa! Sweetheart how are you feeling?" He asked.

"Pain." I said.

"It's okay you'll get better." He kissed my hand but he wasn't making eye contact with me.

"Baby?" Tears well up in my eyes.

"You need to relax sweetheart you're okay and that what matters." Finally he looked into my eyes and I cried clutching my tummy.

"My baby!" I cried. Brandon didn't know what to do.

"Alexa it's okay sweetheart." He tried soothing me but he was grieving himself.

"Where are my parents?" I asked him.

"Down. They told me to get them when you wake up but I think you need some alone time a bit. I'll go get them though." He said kissing my cheek.

He left the room and after awhile Laura comes in. She looked at me with a smile and sat next to me.

"Laura. They all think I lost the baby right?"

"Yeah Peter made sure to make it sound like you were poisoned." She said with a laugh.

"I want to say sorry for not telling you about the baby when I first knew I just wanted to keep you both safe. I had to pretend that I kill the baby so that Elena would trust me more." She said.

Well you see. There's no traitor. Laura was my spy who pretends to work for Elena. Laura would give her the false informations I give her.

Thank god that she assigned Laura to kill my baby and not someone else or I wouldn't have known about it and she could've successfully killed him or her.

Laura immediately took the job since she convinced Elena that she was pretty close to me and that she would kill my baby. And it's an advantage for us that Elena thinks my baby is dead.

I had to pretend that I was grieving while really I still could feel my baby in my stomach. And I'm glad he or she is still inside me because I love him or her to death.

"We gotta tell his highness soon or he'll be having my head." Laura said laughing.

"Those pills Peter gave you hurt like hell." I groaned. We had to tell Brandon but only Brandon or our plan will be to no vail.

"Yeah he said you have to be in pain so that they would believe it. Everyone in the ballroom bought it." She smirked.

"Good. I'm really sad though about Maria and Andrew. I ruined their night."

"Oh no don't worry about it. His highness the king didn't tell them until the night was over." She said.

"Thank god. The attack is in two days and I'm so afraid Laura."

"It's okay don't worry I'm sure everything will be fine." She reassured me.

"You gotta go Laura. My parents and Brandon are coming any moment now. Until I tell Brandon I want you to stay hidden. Okay?"

"Okay." She left the room quickly.

Now fake tears come out. I laughed internally. I hate doing this for my loved ones. But if I didn't do it, my baby would've been Elena's target. Laura was right we shouldn't have let the news spread.

"My baby!" Mom said entering my room.

"Mom!" I chocked out. She hugged me along with my father.

My father was a tough guy but I saw the tears in his eyes. Now I feel more guilty about the situation.

"I'm really afraid Brandon." I said.

"It's okay sweetheart don't be. Everything will be okay. I promise."

We were now alone in our room. He didn't leave my side and Andrew was training the warriors. He should be on his honeymoon but he said that once this war is over, he'll take Maria on a long honeymoon.

"Have you got any word from Lucius?" Lucius, Elena's father was still captive here.

"Yes a few informations that would help us."

"Brandon. I want to tell you something but please don't be mad Ok?"

"What is it?" His attention was fully with me. I took his hand and put it on my stomach. He looked confused.

"Our baby is still here. I'll tell you everything."

After I told him everything Brandon was furious. He stood up and left the room. Well what did I expect just this morning Brandon got the news that our baby is dead while right now he knew that the baby is still alive.

I waited for him minutes turned into one hour and I fell asleep waiting for him. A lone tear escaped my eyes.

"Alexa wake up now." I open my eyes to see Brandon looking at me with sadness in his eyes.

"I'm so sorry." I hugged him full on crying. He rubbed my back.

"It's fine. I am just disappointed because you didn't tell me about this plan you know what I felt when I knew that the baby is dead I was heartbroken." I sniffled. He kissed my head and I knew he forgave me.

"And don't do anything to Laura I know you want to chop her head off."

"Yeah good thing you told me this because I was going to kill her tomorrow." He rolled his beautiful eyes.

"It's because of her our baby is alive Brandon I could never thank her enough." I told him.

"It's okay sweetheart I'll make sure to thank her." I smiled. "Now let's go back to our little guy here." I laughed and he started talking to our child glaring at me.

He was telling him about my stupid plan but that he was glad that he or she is still with us. No words can express how happy he was.
