Aamal p.o.v
As I stared at my reflection in the mirror, my heart raced with a mixture of excitement and fear. Today was the day, the day I had dreamed about since I was a little girl â my wedding day. Yet, despite the joy that a wedding usually brings, a shiver ran down my spine as I thought about him.
Haider, the notorious and dangerous Mafia leader, was not a man to be trifled with. Our paths had crossed unexpectedly months ago, and his possessive and threatening words still echoed in my mind. "I will claim you, Aamal, at any cost," he had said, his voice dripping with an unsettling mixture of desire and menace.
As much as I tried to convince myself that I had moved on, that those threats were empty, a nagging fear resided deep within my heart. How could I forget the way he looked at me, intense eyes filled with darkness as if he could read my every thought? The memory sent a chill down my spine, causing goosebumps to rise on my arms despite the warm sunlight streaming through the window.
My family and friends were unaware of my fears, seeing only the excitement that radiated from me as I prepared for the happiest day of my life. The sound of happy chattering filled the air, mingling with laughter and cheerful conversations, drowning out any doubts or worries.
As my aunt and sister bustled around, helping me into my elaborate wedding attire, I did my best to keep a composed smile on my face, concealing the unease that lingered within. The ornate red gown, resplendent with intricate golden embroidery, weighed heavily on my shoulders as if symbolising the weight of my apprehensions.
I couldn't help but wonder, had Haider meant what he said? Was this just an empty threat or a twisted form of possession? The thought made me question my decision to go through with the wedding. Was it worth risking my happiness and safety for a love that, from its inception, seemed doomed?
But then I looked around at the faces of my loved ones, their eyes glimmering with tears of joy, their smiles genuine and infectious. In their eyes, I saw hope, trust, and a profound belief in the sanctity of love. Their unwavering support bolstered my own wavering courage.
Deep down, I knew that Haider's menacing words didn't define me. They were just shadows, cast by his dark past, and I refused to let them dictate my future. Behind my fear, I held onto a glimmer of optimism, reminding myself that our love story, though unconventional, was still our own.
As the final touches were applied to my makeup and my hands adorned with delicate henna patterns, I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the unknown. Today, I would leave behind my trepidations and embrace a life filled with hope, love, and newfound courage â Haider's threats mere whispers in the wind.
I was engrossed in my thoughts when suddenly I heard gunshots just like that night and for a second my body froze while I continued to stare at my pale reflection in the mirror â¦
" Noâ¦it can't be " I whispered and went downstairs while struggling with the heavy dress
I slowly made my way downstairs, the sound of my racing heart drowning out any other noise around me. As I reached the bottom step, the sight that greeted me caused a chilling shiver to run down my spine.
There, lying on the cold marble floor, was my beloved brother Ibrahim. Blood spilled out from his arm, staining the pristine white tiles beneath him. Panic surged through me, and I felt my legs weaken, threatening to give way beneath me. I rushed towards him, my hands trembling as I knelt down beside him.
"Ibrahim! Oh, no, please, no!" I cried out, my voice trembling with a mixture of fear and despair.
My eyes widened in horror as I saw the figure I feared the most standing across the room. Haider, the dangerous mafia leader, whose ruthlessness and chilling presence had haunted my nightmares for days. He wore a sinister smirk on his face, clearly revelling in the sight of my distraught state.
Ibrahim's pained voice broke the silence. "Aamal, don't... don't come any closer!" he gasped, his voice weak and strained. "It's... it's a trap. He... he wants you."
I turned my attention back to Haider, my eyes filling with defiance despite the terror coursing through my veins. "What did you do to him? Why? We never did anything to you!" I demanded, my voice quivering with a mix of anger and desperation.
Haider chuckled darkly, the sound sending chills down my spine. "Oh, my dear Aamal," he taunted, his voice dripping with sadistic pleasure. "This isn't about you or Ibrahim. This is about power, control, and the message I'm sending to those who dare to oppose me."
Anger fueled my gaze as I locked eyes with the man who had brought so much suffering into our lives. "You will pay for this, Haider," I hissed through clenched teeth, my voice trembling with a newfound determination.
Haider's smirk widened, revealing a glimmer of mirth in his cold, calculating eyes. "Oh, how I admire your spirit, Aamal. But you see, your brother is just a pawn in my game. The real torment will come when you willingly step into my clutches."
I struggled to resist the overwhelming urge to run, to escape this nightmare. But deep down, I knew that fleeing would solve nothing. I had to stay strong, for Ibrahim and for myself. My trembling hands balled into fists as I met Haider's gaze with unwavering determination.
"You may think you hold all the cards, Haider, but I will not be your pawn. I will fight, with every ounce of strength I have, until you are brought down and all the pain you've caused is avenged," I vowed, my voice laced with a newfound resolution.
Haider's smirk faltered for a split second, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his face. But it was quickly replaced by a hardened expression of pure malice. "We shall see, Aamal. We shall see," he sneered
" You are disgusting creature " I spit on his face and in a second a hand hit my cheeks and I was on the floor in a blink.
I look up to see a man slap me across my face for disrespecting his boss .
Bang
Bang
I screamed at the top of my lungs as his body fell in front of me .
Haider shot down his man in front of my eyesâ¦. Blood started to flow from his body colouring the white marble.
I can't believe my eyes, fear gripping my heart, my voice quivering.
Slowly my eyes travel to the inhuman whose shadow covers my body ... .My body shakes in fear while my mind freezes.
Haider's steely gaze locks onto mine, his gun still pointed at me for a moment before he slowly lowers it.
He knelt in front of me and I tried to back away, flinchingâ¦
He raised his hand to caress my cheek where the man just slapped its sting but with his touch.
My body trembles with a mixture of terror and anger.
" Nobodyâ¦. Nobody touches what's mine " he growls , all I can see is blood in his eyes .
Bang â¦
Bang â¦
Bang â¦
He shot the lifeless body again and again⦠and I just watched the terrifying moment without flinchingâ¦
In those moments I knew my life just got doomed⦠forever .
