Chapter 2

One

Halley's Comet

August 23

San Diego, California

I think getting drunk at a concert might have been the biggest mistake of my whole existence..

Millions of people all squished in a big arena, yelling and shouting cheers of happiness as their favorite artist—no idol—began to make their big entrance onto the stage.

God this might be heaven.

"This is going to be so amazing!" My friend, Iris, screams from beside me. A large grin is plastered on her lips and she can't stop herself from bouncing on her feet, impatiently waiting.

While I was just sitting in my seat impatiently waiting for it to start and for it to be over already. A couple weeks ago, Iris ended up bursting into my room screaming about how she was able to score two tickets to see her favorite artist; Bille Eilish.

I was happy for her, still am.

Don't get me wrong I'm sure Billie is an amazing performer whoever they are but no offense but I never listened to their music nor have I heard of them.

Actually no that's a lie. I heard of them from Iris always gushing over how fucking amazing they supposedly are.

But still, never heard their music.

Iris was originally suppose to go to the concert with her girlfriend Courtney but they ended up breaking up just a few days ago due to Iris finding out about Courtney's whore ways.

Not that I already warned her about that ugly bitch but of course no one listens to me.

But look who ended up being right.

"Halley come on" Iris groans, standing beside my seating self. I look at her with a bored look making her kiss her teeth. "It's a concert I been dreaming about and I had no one else to go with so can you just please pretend that you know of Billie and have some fun"

I watch as she looks at me with sad eyes and I groan myself. Fuck it. I stand up watching as she immediately grinned and looped her arm with mine.

"I promise you, you will enjoy it."

"Mhm" I decide not to ruin this for Iris and pretend to at least enjoy myself. I reach into my bag and pull out my bottle of henny that I surprisingly was able to sneak inside. Taking a long swig, I burped lowly and swallowed the brown liquor, feeling it burn my throat.

God I'm going to need that to survive this.

The lights began to lower and the fans start screaming loudly making me groan as I feel myself go deafer by the second. I raise my hand and turn my hearing aids off, the loud noise overstimulating me.

Oh yeah, I'm deaf.

I always have been technically seeing how my parents ended up finding out that I couldn't hear them when I was only three months old. They immediately were heart broken by that news and made sure to have me grow up learning sign language as well be in a deaf kids school.

Let me tell you now, going to a deaf school is so fucking humiliating.

I get that my parents were just trying to help but it sucked that I wasn't able to attend public school like the normal kids in my neighborhood. Everyone in our neighborhood knew I was deaf seeing how my parents were always quick to announce to anyone new they meet.

Felt like they were just trying to show off that they had a kid who was deaf. To show off that they were able to still be rich and successful with a kid who needed extra help.

Quite pitiful if you ask me.

In all honesty, I didn't watch any of the concert. I didn't care. I had my eyes closed the whole time and kept taking sips of my bottle until it was empty after a hour and a half. Well that sucks.

I turn to Iris who was so into the show that she didn't even notice me not paying attention. I shrug my shoulders and decide to go buy some more liquor while she enjoys the concert.

Hopefully they have a beer stand here, most concerts do.

I stumble, pushing past people. Oh fuck I'm drunk. I could barely walk as I look around for some more alcohol, ending coming empty.

Who the fuck has a concert with no alcohol stand?

I groan and decide to just walk around while I wait for Iris to finish. By walk around, I mean me drunkenly stumbling like I have no sense.

You know how something might happened but you have no idea how you ended up in that situation.

Yeah, that's what is about to happen.

I don't where I was going but all I know is the next thing I knew I was being pushed onto stage by someone in all black clothes. I felt at the rough shove making me groan at the pain that shoots in my knees.

Whoever did that is a fucking bitch.

I'm immediately blinded by all of the stage lights and shut my eyes to block it from nearly blinding me. I'm already deaf. I don't need being blind added to the list.

God no.

When I open my eyes, a short girl with crystal blue eyes—that honestly reminded me of the ocean— standing in front of me. She has jet black hair that was pulled into cute space buns and she looked at me with concern swirling in her beautiful eyes.

She looks like a literal angel.

She tilted her head to the side some as she stared at me and I only stared back at her, not daring to look away. I soon realize I'm still on the floor and I quickly spring to my feet, almost bumping into the girl if it wasn't for her taking a step back.

I saw her lips moving before realizing my hearing aid was still off. I held my finger up to stop her from talking further and pointing to my hearing aid. She realized what I was trying to say and waited for me to turn it on before speaking again.

"What are you doing here?" She asked me. Oh fuck she sounds like an angel too.

God took his time with you, whoever you are lady.

"Want the long story or the short version?" I ask already feeling myself getting ready to go on a rant.

I go on rants when I get nervous or embarrassed.

She simply tells me short version.

"My friend made me come here to see some dude named Billie Eilish. Now I don't know who the fuck Billie Eilish is but goddamn was his shit loud and flashy. I had my eyes closed and could see the flashing." I ramble as I roll my eyes in irritation.

She chuckled but didn't say anything else as I continued to drunkenly ramble on . "I didn't even want to be here but she had no one else to go with her so here I am I guess. You know I think she better gift me some burritos after this because I'm fucking starving and being here with these loud ass fans and music is making me seriously get a headache you know? This is why I turned my shit off in the first place."

She looks toward the side of her and I see a man with ginger hair standing with a guitar in his hands as he watches the two of us. "Oh is that Billie? HI BILLIE" I wave at the man with a huge smile of my face, acting as if I didn't just bad mouth him.

He looks at me confused but raises his hand to wave back.

"He's cute but definitely not my type" I say to the girl who only laughs adorable next to me.

"Oh really and what's your type?" She asks me.

"Pussy" I immediately tell her and look back over at her before smirking. "Especially pussy attached to women with black hair clipped into space buns"

She blushes and rolls her eyes. "Again what are you doing here?" she asks me once more.

"I told you I'm here—"

"No" She cuts me off and shakes her head. "What are you doing here on stage?" She clarifies making my eyes immediately widened.

Oh shit I'm on stage.

I'M ON STAGE

I look behind her to see the millions of people who were just screaming and cheering for that Billie guy now all silent and watching us. The whole arena is silent.

"Oh my god did I fuck up the show" I ask hurriedly as I panic looking at the girl who immediately shook her head no. My breathing starts to increase as my anxiety begins to rise.

What the fuck is wrong with me? I just stopped the whole show.

"No no here how about—" She pauses and calls out for a girl I think she said her name was Zoe and then continues to speak. "Go with her and she will lead you to the green room while we finish the show okay? Zoe can you get her some water and make sure she's okay" She says softly and turns to the girl who ended up walking over next to me.

They exchange a few more words before Zoe turns to me, waiting for me to start walking off the stage. Instead I turn back to the space buns girl and immediately grab her by her shoulders. "Can you tell Billie that I'm sorry for ruining his show? I really didn't mean to." I plead to her making her send me a sweet smile and nod her head.

"Of course"

I nod and turn to Zoe who sends me a smile as well and began leading me off the stage. "Wait" I turn back around and see the girl turning back around as well.

"What's your name?" I ask her.

She then smiles and raises her hands to spread around her. "I'm Billie" She says and then sends me a wink and turns back around to walk to the ginger guy.

"Oh okay" I say and turn to face Zoe again and finally walk off of the stage.

Wait a second.

Her name is Billie?

I look at Zoe with widened eyes as we walk to whatever green room. "That's Billie Eilish!" I scream, asking her. She laughs and nods her head making my heart immediately stop.

I stare at her for a few more seconds before I start to see black spots in my vision and take a step back.

She looks at me in concern and I dizzily see her lips moving but I couldn't hear a word she was saying as I start to see only black and I feel myself falling to the ground.

Little note to self, never drink at a concert; especially a Billie Eilish concert.
