Funeral
âMom, I want to transfer to another class!â
Yucheng threw his schoolbag on the sofa as soon as he got home, unbuttoned his collar, leaned back on the sofa, and licked his lips.
Thinking about Qin Heâs reaction when he saw him in the new class was that the corners of his mouth couldnât help but curl up.
âI bet you canât run there.â
âWhy do you suddenly want to transfer to another class? Where do you want to go and what kind of mischief are you up to?â
Lin Ying came out of the kitchen holding a fruit plate and was stunned when she heard Yuchengâs words. She raised her eyebrows and asked, feeling that this kid was up to no good.
âSit properly. Whatâs wrong with you?â
Looking at the child in front of her, who was staring blankly, Lin Ying couldnât help but wave her hand at Yuchengâs head.
âWhat are you so foolish for? Iâm talking to you.â
Yucheng was lost in his thoughts and was snapped out of them when Lin Ying patted his head. He realised that she was sitting next to him.
âHow could that be? Your son wants to turn over a new leaf, so you donât have to worry so much, right?â
Yucheng sat next to Lin Zhengying and used his fork to skewer the fruit, trying to please her.
âI want to goâ¦to Class One.â
Lin Ying was pleased with her sonâs attempts to please her, and she happily ate the fruit.
âWhy do you suddenly want to go to Class One?â
Lin Ying didnât believe that Yucheng wanted to study, so she narrowed her eyes and looked at him. She also sniffed at him and wrinkled her brow.
âYou went to play ball; hurry up and take a shower later. How come thereâs still the smell of car exhaust on you?â
âMom, just tell me if this is possible. I promise not to cause you any trouble this time; I will really study hard.â
Yucheng leaned forward and deliberately stretched out his voice. But in his heart, he despised himself. In any case, he had made a commitment to this friend.
âIâll talk to your dad later. You canât be mischievous anymore. You made your dad very angry last time. Youâll be an adult next year, so think more when youâre doing things.â
Lin Ying patted Yuchengâs hand and expressed her worries.
Her biggest concern was Yuchengâs future. Although the Yucheng family was rich and powerful, she still worried. As they got older, Yucheng should also grow up, and it definitely wouldnât be good if things continued like this.
Yucheng heard that there was something interesting going on and went upstairs with his school bag. He didnât believe it.
âHello, desk mate.â
Yucheng couldnât help but smile, supporting his head with one hand and greeting Qin He in front of him.
The first thing Yucheng did when he was transferred to the class was to drive away Qin Heâs deskmate and occupy the position next to Qin He.
Not only that, but the classmates around him had the foresight to move their desks forward, afraid of touching this ancestor.
Qin He glanced at him and didnât want to deal with him at all. He was currently worried about how to earn money and had no energy to deal with Yucheng, let alone pay attention to such childish behaviour.
âSo he didnât say anything; he just felt somewhat dissatisfied with Yu Chengâs approach, sitting at his seat and tapping his fingers lightly on the desktop.
Yu Cheng didnât see the expected effect and felt a bit disappointed. The other party seemed to not care at all, not even taking him seriously.
So he had to do more to try to get Qin Heâs attention. He dropped his pen near Qin He, making a loud noise while cleaning up his desk.
He talked to himself, despising himself at the same time. When did he need to seek attention from someone like this?
Yu Cheng felt invisible in front of Qin He, as if he were deaf. He realised that if he didnât talk to Qin He, Qin He would never talk to him either.
âSo Qin classmate, how about being a home tutor for me and giving me some extra lessons?â Yu Cheng turned his head and looked at Qin He had a smiling face, and his words were suggestive. He even gestured with a âpeaceâ sign in front of him.
âIâll pay you twice the market price, how about that?â
Yu Cheng wasnât placed in a class with no requirements. His class was one that the school had put a lot of effort into cultivating.
According to the schoolâs requirements, Yu Cheng was not allowed to behave recklessly in class; even if he didnât pay attention to the lesson, he was not allowed to disturb the classroom discipline like he used to.
His father also set a requirement for him to get into the top 800 in the grade. His father definitely didnât believe his rhetoric.
The fact that Yu Cheng put in so much effort must mean that he has his sights on something.
It just so happens that I can use this as a requirement to make him study honestly and learn something. I donât care what Yu Cheng wants or what he plans to do, but I want him to be honest.
Once a person has something they want, they become especially difficult to deal with, like Yu Cheng now.
Layer by layer, the chains and demands fall on Yu Cheng, but he doesnât feel uncomfortable at all.
âTutoring? Double the amount?â
Finally, Qin He agreed to Yu Chengâs request, and Yu Cheng quickly nodded in agreement.
âSure, think about it,â Qin He said.
âWhen?â he asked, turning to look at him.
Yuchengâs mouth was almost curling up to the sky, but he still wanted to leave a good impression.
âDonât you still have to work every night? How about Saturday and Sunday, two hours each in the morning and afternoon, including lunch?â
Yucheng smiled, tapping his fingers lightly on the table.
Whatâs the saying? We werenât fated to meet, but I can use my money to make it happen. Fortunately, Iâm not lacking in money.
âItâs okay, I can quit if you need me to,â said Qin He awkwardly, holding a salary that was twice as high as before. He hoped that, with time, he could repay this difference by working hard.
âNow, be quiet and focus; class is starting,â he said.
To his surprise, now that he had given him a satisfactory answer and they had grown closer, Yu Cheng obediently settled into his seat and fell asleep.
As he slept, Yu Cheng seemed much more gentle and harmless without the strong aggressiveness he had displayed while awake.
Quiet as an invisible person, Qin He looked at Yu Cheng, who had fallen asleep, with a slightly furrowed brow.
The window was partially open to allow for air circulation, and maple leaves blown in by the wind spiralled and floated in, bringing movement to the gauze screen.
The bright red maple leaves contrasted sharply with the fair-skinned youth, softening his features. A rare gentleness appeared on Yu Chengâs face.
Qin Heâs tightly furrowed brow slightly loosened, and he shifted his gaze towards the blackboard. However, his peripheral vision couldnât help but drift towards the soundly sleeping Yu Cheng.
âThis is a test paper for first-year high school students. Do it, and Iâll give you remedial lessons based on your situation. You donât need to write an essay.â
Qin He went to Yu Chengâs dormitory. Yu Chengâs room was a single room, very spacious, and had everything he wanted.
On the desk, there was even a potted plant. If you didnât know any better, youâd think he was on vacation. However, there were no study materials at all.
Yu Cheng only took less than thirty minutes to complete the nine test papers, randomly filling in the multiple-choice questions and not touching the big questions at all.
It made Yu Cheng wonder if he was really that stupid.
He couldnât understand why he could understand each individual word, but when they were put together, he couldnât understand them.
Yucheng looked at Qinhe, who was writing non-stop next to him, and wondered if he even looked at the questions, as he didnât even have time to read them.
He moved his chair slightly and leaned towards Qinhe to see what he was writing. The slight noise caught Qinheâs attention, and he turned to see Yucheng very close to him, which made him feel uneasy.
He had never been so close to anyone before, and his body leaned back slightly while his breathing unconsciously quickened and his brows furrowed.
âAre you done? Let me see.â
Yucheng handed all the papers to Qinhe and then leaned his head on his hand, twirling his pen absentmindedly.
âI say, Teacher Qin, when will you agree to be friends with me?â
Qin He looked at the test papers, frowning more and more, finally furrowing his brows and biting his cheek before letting out a sigh.
He was really curious about how Yu Cheng managed to get through these years of studying. Was it just bad luck that he never seemed to choose the right answers? The only subject he could barely pass was English.
Yu Chengâs tolerance must be really high to be able to hold back from hitting him. Qin He was even worried about his own rising blood pressure just by looking at him.
âWell, maybe when you can study well, weâll have something to talk about. Iâll consider being friends with you then.â
âDo we have to talk only about studying? Itâs so boring. Does this personâs life only revolve around studying?â
âNot unless you want me to talk to you about luxury watches. People who canât find common ground usually canât be friends, so you need to study hard,â said Qin He candidly.
âIâll give you a list of study tasks later, and you need to follow it. I will randomly check your progress,â Qin He continued.
âLetâs start with reviewing the basics, which may involve some reading and memorization. Donât find it boring. Knowing the basics well can help you score well on half of the questions.â
Yu Cheng leaned next to Qin He, propping his arm on the table and listening to him analyse his study situation.
âYou should make some progress during the final exams; donât ruin my reputation.â
âYou should have confidence in yourself, Teacher Qin.â
Yu Cheng put a candy in his mouth and looked at Qin He with a tilted head and mumbled, âItâs very sweet; try it.â
The candy quietly lay in Yu Chengâs palm, and he presented it to Qin He.
Yucheng grinned at him.
ââ
Xian Nan Zhi
Yu Cheng is still very obedient in front of Qin He~
My friend told me that Yu Chengâs mother has the same name as a zombie. I didnât expect that they could have the same name as a zombie.
So now Lin Zhengying has changed her name to Lin Ying.
