"What am I supposed to say Mira? That her only daughter got married because of some problems and will get divorce soon? She won't take it well. She has a lot of faith in marriages. I don't know how will she handle it when I tell her that I will be getting a divorce soon. I know that for once she will be happy that I got married and according to her Fahad is good." Never leaves a chance to insult me. Nada rambled on to Mira, helplessly. I know that eavesdropping is wrong but what can I do when she is literally shouting from the back seat.
[A/N: This is not a force marriage. Fahad had a say. He could have denied easily or find some other way by calling the police but at that moment he agreed to save Alizah.]
But I did feel bad for her. But what could I do. It wasn't even in my hands. I looked where the marriage certificate and the contract was kept. Man! Am I really married? To this creature?
"But if I tell her about the divorce. She will get sad. She will get devastated. You know her Mira, don't you?" And she continued her rambling. I pity Mira sometimes cause such a maniac friend she has got.
"Yes Nada. I know, but we cannot hide it from her. Because if she comes to know later she will be more hurt than if you tell her today." Mira tried to explain.
"Don't you think it would be better if we tell everyone together?" Rahim asked from beside me.
"Yes that's good." Mira agreed.
"Ya. I'll call my Mom to come at Fahad's house in five minutes." Nada nodded and called her Mom asking her to reach at my house as soon as possible.
"And you mister angry bird, call your Mom telling that my Mom will come at yours soon and expect all of us too." She informed glaring at me.
"Whom are you ordering?" I barked, turning a little back.
"Dude, you will get us killed. Look in front anyway you got whole lives to fight with each other." Rahim commented and I glared at him.
I quickly texted my Mom about Aunt Ayesha coming home with one hand on the steering wheel and the other one was texting.
"Tell her to shut up or else get out of my car at instant." I bellowed.
"How could you be so rude? I also don't fancy sitting in a cheapster's car." She piped in holding onto the car's handle and that's when I stopped the car.
"Get out."
"Rude."
"I am telling you to get out because we have already reached, dufoos." I taunted and her expression was priceless, so embarrassed.
"Lol." Mira commented and Rahim just shook his head.
We all got up from our seats and stood in front of my house with Alizah too, who talking or murmuring something in gibberish way.
"Ya Allah please save me." Nada whispered to herself as I rang the bell.
"Ya Allah please let her die." I too whispered, mocking her.
Before she could reply me the door opened.
"Faddy where were you? You always come home from the office by this time." Mom exclaimed as I saw Uméma giggling to herself. I know why she giggled. She always giggles when mom calls me Faddy.
"Huh! Faddy?" I heard Nada snickered beside me, whom I glared.
"Nada?! Where were you?! You told me that you were going to meet Alizah." Aunt Ayesha came in to the picture.
"Asalamwalaikum (peace be upon you) Aunt Naaz and Aunt Ayesha." Rahim and Mira greeted simultaneously.
"Oh Walaikumasalam (peace be upon you too) dear, how are you both? Cute couple." Mum asked gleefully.
"Walaikumasalam. Ibrahim and Alimira. How's everything going?" Aunt Ayesha asked.
"Everything is good, Alhumdullilah (with God's grace)." Mira smiled.
"Assalamualaikum everyone!?" Uméma, my bubbly sister, greeted everyone.
"Walaikumasalam, Uméma. How are you?" Rahim smiled at her.
"I am well what about you both?" She chortled in joy.
"Why didn't you come to our reception?"
Uméma was going to reply when Nada started talking.
"Uh. . . Mom? Aunt Naaz? w-we wan-wanted to say s-so-something." Nada stuttered. Man which work will she do nicely?!
"Yes what is it? You asked me to come here. Everything good?"Aunt Ayesha said.
"Uh...it's that...um.."
"What is it?" Mom asked her impatiently.
"We are married." And all I heard were gasps. From three people. Mom, Aunt Ayesha and Uméma.
I knew Nada wouldn't say that's why I said in one go.
And after the gasps there was cue of 'What?' 'Why?' 'How?'
"Fahad is it some kind of joke or something?" Uméma asked me, bewildered.
"No it isn't. But it has a reason behind it." I answered her.
"Mira please put Alizah away, as she is sleeping, in Uméma's room. Uméma show her the way." Mom suggested and both of them left.
"What is he saying Nada? Are you really married to him?" Aunt Ayesha came forward and whispered to Nada.
"Mom!" Nada started.
"Just say yes or no." Aunt spoke angrily.
"Yes." Nada whispered her eyes casted down.
"Was I this bad at parenting you? That you didn't even care about informing us about you taking this huge step of your life?" Aunt Ayesha narrowing her eyes at Nada.
"No mom there's a rea-"
"Do not talk to me." Aunt spoke harshly and tears started rolling down Nada's cheeks.
No wonder she was so worried about telling her Mom about this.
"Ayesha! Wait! Let her explain herself. I know Nada and my son too. There must be a legit reason behind." Mom came to the rescue.
"What? What could be the reason, Naaz? What went wrong that they had to get married?!" Aunt said furiously.
"You know Nada so well. No one would know better than you, you are her mother. There is a very tricky reason behind." Mira said coming downstairs, Uméma along with her.
"You know us Aunt. I am Fahad's best friend as Mira is Nada's. We won't let our best friends take a wrong step." Rahim defended us.
"Fine then explain." Aunt crossed her arms across her chest.
"Please. Even I am getting anxious by this mystery." Mom fidgeted.
Thirty minutes. It took us thirty minutes to explain them. I told them everything about how Nada, Mira and Alizah got kidnapped. Rahim explained about Alizah's parents taking money from Junaid then Mira elaborated about how Junaid created a situation where I and Nada had to marry each other and about the marriage certificate thing, the contract and the divorce. And Nada? She didn't say anything. Just tears were rolling down her eyes.
"Divorce?!" Our mothers said it together. Guess they believe a lot in marriages.
"Yes Mom. You both know that we won't be able to stand each other. This is just till we pay Junaid the money or inform the police about it and find Alizah's real parents, if they are not dead or the ones who are willingly adopting her." I elaborated to them.
"Yayyy...Nada you are my sister-in-law now." Uméma exclaimed hugging Nada, who gave her a small smile.
"Oh my God! What did you both had to go through?" Aunt exclaimed.
"My poor kids." Mom hugged me.
Phew! Finally the most dreading part is over.
"Aww...look at you two you both look so good together, right Ayesha?" Mom cooed. Here comes the cupid players.
"Ofcourse. They do, right people?" Aunt Ayesha looked at the rest of them.
And Mira, Rahim and Uméma nodded at this not to forget their cheeky smiles flashing.
What the heck?
"Mom you know I hate this dude. Still you are talking like this?" Nada whined, just like a child she is. Finally she speaks.
"Feeling is mutual."
"Fine I shall g home now." Aunt got up.
"Wait for the dinner. Afterall now we have become relatives too." Mom insisted and I facepalmed.
"No Naaz. Next time." Aunt ushered towards the door.
"Fine then I'll take Alizah with me and you will take her from me next week, okay?" Nada asked and I nodded.
"Where are you going?" Mom asked her.
"Umm...home?" That also came out as a question.
"No sweety, you are married now. That too to my son. You will stay here. With us. With Fahad."
"What?! Never in my wildest dreams." I uttered, bewildered. Gross.
"Are you guys mad?" Mom looked back and forth at me and Nada.
"A married couple doesn't live separately." Aunt piped in.
"Rahim and Mira did." I said in a heartbeat.
"They were practically in their house and if you guys want a Ruksati [where the bride totally moves in with the groom. In his house, room.] ceremony we will have it." Aunt said.
And I heard Uméma and Mira squealing.
"No I don't want more drama." Nada sighed.
"Okay then. Fahad I give you my daughter. Take care of her. Treat her like a princess because she is all I have left." Aunt came near me and gave her speech and took my hand in hers.
"And Nada? Try your best to make this marriage work." She smiled taking Nada's hand and kept it in my hand. So soft! "You guys will, right?"
"We will try." Nada lied. Of course she lied.
"Fine I'll go now. AllahHafiz (parting greeting of Muslims. It basically means God be with you)."
"Mom this all is not necessary. Please." Nada whispered to her mom.
"My only wish was to see you get married that's also done that too to Fahad. Just make it work. For me? For sake of my love. You must love me right?" Aunt Ayesha asked and Nada simply nodded. "Then do it because you love me, sweetheart."
"AllahHafiz." Nada said and hugged her mom.
"She is not living overseas okay, just the next house is ours. You can meet her whenever you want!" Mom joined in.
She can always meet her mother. Like just a block difference.
"We'll also go now." Rahim announced.
"Ya it's getting dark outside." Mira spoke.
"Thank you guys for what all you have done today. I don't know how to thank you both." Nada expressed with a smile.
"Hey! What are best friends for?" Mira exclaimed and launched in to hug her.
"Now you will also know about married life." Rahim muttered, hugging not before winking at me.
"Shut up Rahim." I hit my shoulder with his.
"AllahHafiz."
"AllahHafiz ."
And they both left. I turned my head and looked at Nada and she also that time look towards me. I glared at her who did the same to me. She gave a cry out of frustration and walked away.
Stupid.
