Chapter 1050
Reborn Through Fire
Chapter 1050 Daddy Has to Stop Keeping You for Himself The childrenâs eyes instantly lit up upon seeing Kisa. Ada ran toward her and hugged her waist. âAunty, itâs been so long. I finally get to see you again.â
Kisa was thinking about things along the way home and came back muddled. But, this hug from the little oneâs soft hand warmed her heart in an instant. âI come back every day.â
âYou always come home late. By the time youâre back, my brothers and I are already asleep,â said Ada as she pulled Kisa to the dining table. Madalynâs face had darkened. Kisa glanced past Madalyn and landed her gaze on Andrew and Blake. Even though the kids were not hers, she felt warm and secure looking at them.
âAuntyâ¦â Andrew called Kisa and softly said, âWe are going to talk to daddy.â
Kisa laughed, âWhat is it you want to talk to him about?â
âWe want Daddy to stop keeping you for himself. We canât even see your shadow throughout the day,â
Andrew said thoughtfully. Kisa could not help but burst out laughing. The more she laughed, the more her eyes were wet. âGilbertâs still on a business trip out of town right now. Iâm afraid he wonât keep me for himself anymore once he returns. After all, I made a mistake, a terrible mistake. He probably wonât forgive me after he returns.â
âAunty, I heard daddy say that you like stew pork ribs.â Ada stood up, stretched her arms out straight, and gave Kisa a piece of pork rib. âMy brothers and I had the servants specially made this for you.
Have a taste!â
Madalynâs face was clouded with an unpleasant look at the situation. When the servants were cooking dinner, she saw the kids eagerly rush to the kitchen, telling them to make many different dishes. She was glad as she believed the kids finally had their favorites and that they had a better appetite. âI never thought the kids were preparing these dishes for this woman. Their dad didnât even get to have this kind of treatment in the house. I wonder how she butters the kids up to have them only care about her!â
George saw Madalynâs gloomy face and whispered to Madalyn, âForget it, Mrs. Kooper Sr. Having Mrs.
Kooper eating dinner with the kids might be a good thing. When have you seen the kids eat so well as they did today?â
Madalyn snickered and lowered her voice, âI just donât believe it. Whatâs so amazing about this woman that made the kids love her more than their dad?â
George chuckled, âEven though she has nothing nice, itâs no match for the childrenâs fondness for her.
Maybe itâs fate. So, stop secretly being difficult and sulky. Itâs bad for you.â
Madalyn grunted and had little appetite. She sat opposite Kisa and questioned, âWhy did you come back alone? Whereâs Gilbert?â
Andrew and Ada looked at each other, as they just noticed that only Kisa had come back alone without their dad. If Madalyn did not ask about it, the kids might have forgotten about their father. Kisa was slightly taken aback. âIt seems that Gilbert left in a hurry since he didnât even inform Madalyn about his business trip.â
Kisa pursed her lips and said, âHe went on a business trip out of town.â
Madalynâs brow instantly furrowed, and the depression on her face was getting obvious. âWhy am I completely clueless about his business trip?â
When she heard Madalynâs words, Kisa hurriedly added, âDavian was the one who just told me.â
