Chapter 1079
Reborn Through Fire
Chapter 1079 A Womanâs Worth Increases While Bearing Children âDonât you lie to me. The doctor gave you prenatal pills. Thereâs no way he would ask you to move around more. Do you think Iâve never given birth before?â
âOf course not. The prenatal care pills are just for backup,â Kisa lied. âThe doctor said that regular exercise can promote the development of the fetus and make me stronger, which will help with the birth.â
Madalyn glanced at Kisa in suspicion.
âIf youâre worried, you can send a bodyguard with me when Iâm out. My show is coming to an end; I canât just leave the production,â she hurriedly added.
âThis will deceive her,â she thought.
âIâm going to the hospital to get proof that Iâm not pregnant tomorrow. Sheâll believe me then. There is no way I will be grounded and forced to stay in this house tomorrow.â
âI think what Mrs. Kooper said makes sense, Madam. Being locked up at home every day isnât good for the baby, and pregnant women should get fresh air every day. I think itâs best we listen to her and get a bodyguard to follow her around,â said George.
Madalyn thought about it for a moment and nodded. âAlright, alright. Iâll listen to her this time.â After finishing speaking, she glared at Kisa again and said, âIâm telling you, if you hurt a hair on my precious greatâgrandchildâs head, youâre dead.â
Kisa pursed her lips stiffly. She did not know how to react to Madalynâs love for the â childâ in her womb when she clearly hated her.
âNow, eat up. Donât let my precious greatâgrandchild starve!â Madelyn told her. Kisa wiped her forehead in embarrassment and continued eating her food with her head down, thinking everything would be fine after she got proof at the hospital tomorrow. She felt guilty that Madalyn was so worried about her nonâexistent child.
âGreatâGrandma, if the baby in Maâamâs tummy is your precious greatâgrandchild, then what are we?â
Andrew rushed to Madalyn and asked.
âWell, both you and Ada are my precious greatâgrandchildren, of course. Blake is too,â she said with a kind smile. Blake stayed quiet and smiled shyly. Suddenly, Ada looked at Kisaâs stomach, her little finger on her lips, and asked curiously, âIs the baby in Maâamâs belly a baby brother or baby sister? I hope itâs a baby sister. That way, she could play with me! Heeâhee!â
âI hope itâs a girl too, preferably a baby sister who is as cute as Ada,â Andrew added.
His words made Ada happy. She smiled so hard that they could not even see her eyes. âI hope itâs a baby brother. That way, we can all protect Ada when we get older,â Blake said. Ada tilted her head, thinking for a while before she said, âThat sounds great. They can take care of me when we grow up.
But itâs okay. I donât mind if itâs a baby brother or baby sister; Iâll love them either way.â
âYeah, we will.â
Kisa felt guilty when she saw how excited the children were for the âchildâ in her womb. âI hope this misunderstanding clears up soon,â she thought.
This âpregnancyâ made her realize how much society judges a womanâs worth based on her fertility and if she can have children.
When Kisa was done with dinner, Madalyn asked several of the servants to help her up the stairs. Her bathroom was covered with nonâslip mats. She even asked a few servants to accompany Kisa in the bathroom when she was taking a bath so that nothing would happen to her. She was so embarrassed that the pushed all of them out.
They even installed a call button beside her bed, which alerted the servants whenever she needed them. She did not know about the buttons at first and leaned against the bed after taking a shower.
Suddenly, the call button sounded, which startled her. Before she could relax again, three servants appeared in her room.
