Reborn Through Fire By Kazuya Higan Chapter 1179
Reborn Through Fire
Chapter 1179 Lying to Him Gilbert narrowed his eyes toward the end of the sentence.
Even though he did not finish the sentence, Kisa could clearly feel the threat in his words. She was left speechless.
âWho are they to restrict my freedom?â
The point was, she could do nothing to resist their restriction.
Gilbert went to the office after breakfast. Once he left, Madalyn glared at Kisa, her eyes blazing with malice. Kisa pretended not to see the murderous look in Madalynâs eyes and continued to have her meal. After the meal, she went out. Fearing that Gilbert could trace the location of her car, Kisa went out on foot toward the courtyard instead of driving.
Madalyn stood in the courtyard, watching as Kisa disappeared through the entrance, and then she snorted, âIf she wasnât carrying the Kooper familyâs offspring, I wouldnât have cared about her. Sheâs really pissing me off.â
George smiled and asked, âWould you like me to send a bodyguard to follow Mrs. Kooper?â
âNever mind, youâd better not. She might get offended and snitch on me to Gilbert,â Madalyn said. âI wonât put up with her anymore after the baby is born.â
Because of time constraints, Kisa hailed a cab on the side of the road after leaving the Kooper residence. She first asked the cab driver to drive her to the nearest park. When she arrived, she walked a short distance in the park and then took a few photos and some selfies with the park as the background.
Following that, she left the park and got into the cab again.
âTo the airport, please,â she told the cab driver and checked the time. There were still two hours left before boarding time, so she had plenty of time.
In the CEO office of GK Pictures, Gilbert pushed away the contract in front of him with irritation. He had been so unsettled today that he could not get anything done.
Leaning back in his chair, he massaged his aching forehead.
âIf only she were here. Her presence may distract me, but at least she could lift my spirits.â
He gazed at the ceiling and sighed. He knew that Kisa did not love him and that she was with him to seek revenge, but he was still thinking about her and loving her anyway. The more he thought about it, the more distraught he was, and the more eager he was to see her.
He checked his watch; it was almost 10.00 am.
âShe should be hungry by now. If I drive over to pick her up, and then go to the restaurant, Iâll make it just in time for lunch.â
He took out his cell phone and called Kisa.
Kisa was already on the plane at that moment. As the plane had not taken off yet, she had not turned off her cell phone. When Gilbert called, she tensed up and felt a flash of guilt. But then she felt that her reaction was a bit ridiculous, as she realized she had done nothing wrong. With this thought in mind, she answered the call calmly.
âWhere are you?â
âAt the park.â Kisa lied through her teeth as she glanced at passengers walking down the aisle.
Gilbert frowned as he heard the noise in the background over the phone. âIs the park noisy?â
âYeah, so many people are coming to the park at this hour.â Kisa kept lying. A man sitting next to her glanced at her with a flash of contempt, thinking she must be a bad woman full of lies.
Gilbert did not doubt it. He asked, âAre you hungry? Do you want me to pick you up?â
Kisa instantly panicked. âNo, it is okay. Iâm not hungry yet.â
