Reborn Through Fire
Chapter 1331 The Baby Is Not Yours Alone Gilbert frowned and did not answer for a long time, but Kisa was persistent. The more he refused to answer, the more she was determined to find out his answer.
She fixed her eyes on him. âAnswer me. What? Is that a difficult question?â
Gilbert took the towel and wiped her hair, asking, âWhy do you always have to bring her up?â
âIâm just asking. Maybe there is really a possibility?â Kisa snickered while he frowned. âWhat? Are you angry?â she asked.
Gilbert did not make a sound, his face sullen, and he continued to rub her hair with the towel. Kisa was not too happy. She grabbed the towel from his hand, not wanting him to dry her hair.
âIâve told you many times that itâs impossible for her to be in the Mullen residence. Why are you asking such a weird question?â
âHeh! Look how heâs trying to defend that woman. Kisa was so pissed that she decided to ignore him.
She had just had a nightmare and was drenched in sweat, especially her hair. So, when she took a shower, she had washed her hair. Now her hair was all wet, and when she laid on the bed, the pillow got wet as well.
When Gilbert saw this, anger rose within him, and he yelled at her, âGet up and blow-dry your hair before you go to sleep.â
âItâs none of your business.â Kisa grunted, turning her back on him.
Gilbert stared at her back and gritted his teeth. âGet up.â
âDoes he think I should be his beck and call? Iâm not stupid.â
Seeing that she did not move, Gilbertâs hands resting on the bed were clenched into fists as anger built up. It was not after a long while that he loosened his fist helplessly. âForget it! I donât hit women, not to mention that she is pregnant.â
Instead, he said, âGet up and blow-dry your hair. You can do whatever you want, but what if you hurt the baby? If you sleep with your wet hair, you could get sick. Besides, your body is still weak. This could affect the health of the baby. Get up quickly. The baby is not yours alone. Get up.â.
Kisa became even angrier upon hearing this. She knew she was not as important as the baby in his eyes, that she was always dispensable, unlike the baby, which was precious to him. As pissed as she was, she still heeded his words and got up from bed, as she too was worried that it might affect the babyâs health.
At last, Gilbert smiled at seeing this. âSit up properly.â He had her sit with her back to him, turned on the hair dryer, and patiently blow-dried her hair.
She gripped the bedsheet and brooded. âGilbert, what would you do if Sara showed up one day and wanted me dead?â
Gilbert did not answer. Perhaps the hair dryer was too loud, and he did not hear her. She quietly pursed her lips and stopped asking. She knew Sara was the most important thing to him, so she told herself to stop asking such questions and making herself feel miserable.
Her hair had dried. Gilbert turned off the hair dryer. âGo to sleep.â
Kisa lay down. She did not dare to sleep, so she just stared at the ceiling.
âItâs still early. If I fall asleep, Iâll definitely have that nightmare again.â
Perhaps after days of not sleeping well, she had dark circles under her eyes and looked languid.
Gilbert stroked her head and said, âSleep well. I will be by your side. If it looks like youâre having a nightmare again, Iâll wake you up immediately, so you donât have to be afraid.â
