Reborn Through Fire
Chapter 1345 No More Pregnancies Gilbert wanted to comfort Kisa, but he did not know what to say. Her hands were cold even after he held them tightly. Kisaâs face was pale. She looked at the picture of Lea on the tombstone in silence.
Her face looked so calm that it was scary.
Gilbert was afraid that she would collapse at any moment, so he held onto her tightly the whole time they were there. It was not until evening that the two left the cemetery.
Kisa could hardly walk. Gilbert helped her get into the car, and she stared out the window blankly. Her face looked as white as a ghost.
Gilbert tightened his grip around her hand and said in a low voice, âTry to get some rest if youâre tired.
Donât overthink it.â
Kisa listened and obediently closed her eyes. Gilbert took off his coat and put it over her before he started the car.
The two stayed at Felicityâs for a few days as Kisa was not in a good mood. Ever since Leaâs funeral was over, Kisa hardly ever went out of the house. She shut herself in her room all day and became extremely depressed. Gilbert was worried, but he did not know how to comfort her. He was afraid of disturbing her, so he could only cook nutritious meals to help nourish her body.
During the first month of Kisaâs pregnancy, she had no morning sickness; everything tasted delicious.
But after one and a half months of being pregnant, the morning sickness came, and she could not hold her food down each time she ate.
âBleurghâ¦â Kisa threw up the soup she just ate. The woman leaned uncomfortably over the toilet, her face was pale, and her whole figure was as thin as a stick.
Gilbert carefully wiped off the stains on the corner of her lips as he frowned and said, âThatâs it. No more pregnancies.â
Gilbert had not expected pregnancies to be so hard.
Kisa looked up at him slowly. The man stared at her belly with resentment, as if he was angry at the baby for being difficult and torturing their mother.
âDidnât you know that this was what I went through during my first pregnancy?â said Kisa, smiling softly.
When Kisa had been pregnant the first time, her morning sickness was worse than what it was currently. At one point, she threw up everything she ate, but Gilbert did not even know about it because he was never home.
Gilbert pursed his lips tightly and said, âWell, thereâll be no more pregnancies in the future.â
Kisa looked at him quietly for a long time. âOkay,â she said weakly. âHaving Ada, Andrew, and the child in my womb is enough.â
However, Kisa couldnât help but feel a little sad when she thought of her baby, who had died in the fire.
It had been raining in Athadale for several days and the town was slowly entering wintertime. The weather finally cleared up that day. The sun was shining, and it warmed up the hearts of many.
Kisa sat in a chair, watching Felicity busily working around the house. She had prepared lots of delicious snacks in the yard, though they mostly consisted of unhealthy and heavy food. There was a bowl of spicy ramen, some fries, a few bags of chips, and even a grilled cheese sandwich.
Felicity put all the food in front of Kisa and said, âLook at you. Youâve lost a lot of weight recently. Here, I asked my servants to get these for you. Eat up.â
Although Gilbert felt that those food were unhealthy, he decided not to say anything as long as Kisa could hold them down. He had been very anxious the past few days, researching what pregnant women should eat. However, Kisa always threw up after taking a few bites of the meals he made. Even her favorite sandwiches made her sick when she smelled them.
Gilbert felt frustrated and helpless. He pushed the bowl of ramen in front of Kisa and said, âEat up.
Youâre getting way too skinny.â
