Chapter 1348 Everyone Has Only One Life “What happened? Who did this to you?” Gilbert asked as he hurriedly checked the red mark on Kisa’s neck to see if the damage was severe.

Kisa grabbed his hand and smiled, “I’m fine. Don’t worry.”

“How can I be worried?” There was a serious expression on Gilbert’s face. He looked at the tombstones in the cemetery and suddenly said ruefully, “Everyone has only one life. Thank god…”

“Yeah?” Kisa looked at him and asked.

“Thank god that you’re still alive and well by my side. Otherwise… I wouldn’t know what to do.”

Kisa hugged him after hearing that. She snuggled into the man’s arms and murmured, “Yeah… Thank god.”

Adrien was also there. Ever since Kisa knew that Adrien approached her in the beginning just to harm her and Gilbert, she no longer had any interest in that person. No matter how bright his smile was, Kisa secretly mocked him while being cautious.

“Are you doing alright these few days, Kisa?” Adrien asked with concern when Gilbert was busy filling up her soup bowl.

Kisa was startled, but she smiled and nodded, “Yeah, I’m fine.”

“Then why do you look so much skinnier than before?”

Kisa pursed her lips and smiled. She could not tell the man about her pregnancy because he would try to hurt the child in her womb.

According to Lea, Adrien did not want to kill Gilbert and Kisa. Instead, he wanted them to kill each other. It was highly possible that Kisa would reconcile with Gilbert because of their child in her womb. ‘If that man knew I was pregnant, he would most likely try to get rid of our child,’ she thought.

Kisa tried to stabilize her emotions and looked at Adrien. Suddenly, her face looked sad. “It’s just… I lost my best friend, so I’m a little depressed.”

“Oh…” Adrien nodded knowingly. “You still have to look after yourself,” he added.

As soon as he said that, Carrie, the second daughter-in-law of the Mullen family, suddenly laughed in a strange manner. “That friend of Mrs. Kooper is the bar girl who hooked up with Anthony.”

Kisa stared at Carrie, and her eyes narrowed coldly.

However, Carrie continued, “Tch. I heard that she killed herself. What was she even thinking? Her status was low, sure, but if she kept hooking up with Anthony, I’m sure she could have gotten something out of it. Why did she have to take her own life? I mean, it’s not like Anthony disliked her. I heard that on the day she died, he was so sad that he fell into a coma for several days. He was even looking for that woman when he woke.”

“Is that so?” Kisa sneered. “Well, she’s gone now. So, no matter how deep his love for her seemed, it was no use.”

Mr. Mullen Sr. did not look happy after hearing that, and Jane’s expression was not much better either.
