Reborn Through Fire
Chapter 1350 This Man Cannot Be Praised After dinner, Kisa and Kelvin went to visit Vivian. As soon as they entered the yard, Kisa saw her sitting in her wheelchair, trying to lift her legs. She was able to move them slightly, but not all the way.
Vivian seemed a little frustrated that she could not lift her legs. Her face was full of anxiety and annoyance.
âThereâs no need to rush, Ms. Mullen. Dr. Hoover said that youâre doing great, so donât worry. Take your time.â Kisa chuckled as she walked over.
When Vivian saw her, a smile instantly appeared on her face. âI havenât seen you in a long time.
Please, sit, she said. She then ordered the servants to pour them some tea.
Vivianâs complexion had improved a lot. The depressed look on her face was also gone. Kisa was happy for her. She helped Vivian with the blanket on her lap and said in a low voice, âWeâre entering winter soon, you have to stay warm. Keep up the good work, and Iâm sure youâll be able to stand up in no time.â
Vivian nodded, looking at her with gratitude. She held Kisaâs hand and said, choking up. âThank you.
Iâm afraid I would never be able to stand anymore if it werenât for you.â
Kelvin rolled his eyes when he heard that, but Kisa was amused. âYou shouldnât thank me. You should thank our wonderful hero right here. Otherwise, heâs going to have a problem with us,â she joked.
Vivian came to her senses and chuckled, âOh, yes, of course. Thank you, Dr. Hoover. Youâre indeed a talented genius in the medical field.â Her praise made Kelvin feel like he was on cloud nine.
âWell, no one has ever doubted my medical skills. I can even bring you back from the gates of hell if you want.â
This man really goes overboard when praised,â Kisa laughed to herself.
Kelvin did a routine checkup on Vivianâs legs and then hid in the corner of the yard to have a video call with Gracie. Vivian looked at him and smiled at Kisa. âHeâs always video-calling with that partner of his for long periods every day. Itâs clear that theyâre happy together,â she said with envy in her eyes.
âWho wouldnât be jealous of love and happiness?â Kisa thought.
âTheyâve experienced quite a lot of drama. But fortunately, everything is fine now,â Kisa whispered. âIn fact, many things can be beautiful after experiencing storms. Iâm positive youâll be able to stand, and everything will be fine.â
Vivian looked down and said disappointedly. âIâve been wasting my time for so many years. He might not even recognize me if I ever see him again. He might even be married to another woman and have a beautiful family. Iâll only be an outsider then.â
Kisa stared at Vivian and hesitated for a long time. In the end, she could not help but reveal her true purpose for being there.
âActually, Ms. Mullen⦠Iâve always wanted to ask you about David Kooper.â
Vivian was startled. After a while, she looked up at Kisa, but her eyes did not seem kind as before; they were cold. âWhat do you want to know?â she asked.
âI want to know what happened to you and David back then. Most importantly, I want to know where he went.â
âWhy do you want to know those things? Are you also looking for him?â Vivian frowned.
As Kisa faced Vivian, she could no longer hide it anymore. She pursed her lips and said, âYes, Iâm looking for him because⦠He was my motherâs favorite person.â
âYour motherâs favorite person?â
âWhen my mom was dying, she kept calling out his name. But somehow, it seems that he misunderstood my motherâs change of heart and hated her for it. I want to find him and tell him about how my mom felt. I donât want her to still be hated after her passing.â
Suddenly, Vivianâs hands gripped tightly onto the armrest of her wheelchair as Kisa finished speaking.
