“Eat some more. You’re losing weight. I’m worried that my baby will be underweight when it is born,”

Gilbert’s face darkened. But he did not get angry in front of Adrien. “Yes, I do everything with a purpose. Are you happy now?” he said faintly and took the bowl back into the house.

Gilbert was at work again when Kisa returned to her room. When Kisa came in, his expression was cold and he acted as if he did not see her, not sparing her a glance. Kisa quietly walked over and sat down opposite him. But he was still looking at the computer screen, never taking notice of her.

After a long while, she asked, “Are you still mad at me?”

He said nothing at first. But after a long while, he seemed to have lost his temper. “If all my kindness to you has been for a purpose, why do you care about me?”

Kisa lowered her eyes and pursed her lips, having mixed emotions.
