Chapter 1390
Reborn Through Fire
Chapter 1390 You Want Revenge and to Strike Back âThe man responsible for putting you behind bars and causing the fire that injured you and claimed your childâs life is Gilbert,â Sara whispered in Kisaâs ear, her voice filled with hatred. It appeared that even though she went into hiding all those years ago, she had always kept a watchful eye on her.
âHe wants you dead, and he wonât stop until he sees it through. Heâs tampered with your food, trying to drive you mad, and he wants to burn you alive once again.â
Sara continued to repeat these words, trying to instill a deep-seated hatred in Kisa.
To give a convincing performance, Kisa purposely put on a dazed and sluggish demeanor and recited along with her.
âGilbert is my enemy. He wants me dead. He wants to burn me. Gilbert is my enemy.â
Satisfied with Kisaâs reaction, Sara nodded with a vicious glint in her eye.
âThe man who will come to see you later is Gilbert. He wants to burn you, just like he did in the prison.
So, you must strike back. Make him pay for what heâs done to you and your child. You must take him down with you and bury him in a sea of flames. Avenge yourself. Strike back,â Sara kept whispering these words into her ear, shoving the candle holder she just held into Kisaâs hands.
Kisa was stunned as she heard what Sara said.
âSheâs malicious, wanting me to burn myself alive. But then, she mentioned that the person coming to find me later is Gilbert. What does that mean? Is someone really coming for me? Could it be Gilbert?
No, that canât be right. Sara wonât harm Gilbert. But if it isnât Gilbert, then who can it be?â
Kisa was baffled but did not dare to think too much, as any expressions on her face might give her away.
Sara continued to recite the words in Kisaâs ear, emphasizing her hatred for Gilbert and tempting her to end her life alongside him. Kisa repeated every word to make herself seem fully hypnotized. Her eyes were blank, and she repeated everything like a mindless doll.
Sara smirked and walked toward the bathroom in the back of the room. Kisa heard Sara making a phone call from inside the bathroom.
âAll set. Let him come. Hurry, Iâm afraid the hypnotic effect will wear off.â
Kisaâs heart sank. âWho are they bringing in?â She tightly gripped the candle holder in her hand, a flicker of fear crossing her mind. Fortunately, she had already figured out the problem with the tea.
Otherwise, she might really have been hypnotized by Sara. If she had lost control of her consciousness and been completely controlled by Sara, the consequences would be unimaginable.
The room was silent. Kisa lay still on the couch, too afraid to move, because she could see Sara leaning against the bathroom door observing her. Her hands were resting on either side of her body, and her right hand held the candlestick. The dripping wax from the burning candle was hot on the back of her hand and the webbing, but she held it with no reaction.
Suddenly, the sparks from the burning wick of the candle fell onto the couch. The couch was covered in genuine fur, which was highly flammable. As soon as the sparks landed on the couch, several strands of fur caught fire. Kisa was shocked.
