Reborn Through Fire By Kazuya Higan Chapter 1447
Reborn Through Fire
Kisa stared at Madalyn in disbelief. âYou used to like me too. I just canât wrap my head around why youâre treating me like this.â
Madalyn sneered, âIf you canât figure it out, then donât bother trying. Just remember to stay away from my grandson and stop causing him any more trouble.â
âI donât understand what Iâve done wrong.â
Madalynâs face darkened. âYou have no right to know. Just be smart and have the child, then get out of here!â With that, she stormed into the house, leaving Kisa standing alone in the yard.
After settling Adrienâs affairs, Kisa realized she still had to find a way to break down Madalynâs walls.
âBut what is Madalyn hiding? And why is she so guarded about the past?â
Gilbert was truly heartless. He had not shown his face to her for a whole week. Madalyn blamed Kisa for driving him away, so Kisa kept things to herself, staying in her room and avoiding any unnecessary confrontation.
Christopherâs fate hung in the balance as he remained locked up in the detention center. Carolyn and her daughter had abandoned him, leaving him to fend for himself. Kisa felt nothing but sarcasm in her heart. She did not want to bother with this anymore, regardless of what verdict Christopher would receive in the end, she didnât care.
As night fell, Kisaâs phone rang. It was Adrien, calling her once again, choosing the darkness to avoid Gilbertâs watchful eyes. Little did he know, Gilbert had been absent from her side for the past few days.
âKisa, howâs your relationship with Mr. Kooper lately?â Adrien asked over the phone.
Kisa thought for a moment and replied, âHe has been quite distant with me these days. I donât know what is going on with him. Iâve been trying to please him, but he still seems to dislike me. Anyway, I donât care anymore. If worst comes to worst, Iâll just go down with him.â Kisa intentionally spoke in a very extreme ruthless tone.
Adrien seemed to have fully believed Kisaâs hatred toward Gilbert. He quickly said, âYou must not do anything foolish. With my help, you will definitely get your revenge.â
Adrien paused and continued. âBy the way, I heard that your father has been arrested. I donât think Mr.
Kooper will drop the charges. Do you want to save your father? If you do, I can help you.â
Kisa frowned. âWhy does Adrien suddenly act like a kind and benevolent person in front of me? Is he testing me?â
After weighing the situation for a while, she replied, âNo need. Since he wants to kill me, heâll definitely strike again. For my own safety, itâs better for him to stay behind bars. I visited him a few days ago and asked him why he wanted to kill his own daughter. Can you guess what he said?â
The phone went silent for a moment. Kisa squeezed the bedsheet, and her lips were full of sarcasm.
âHe said that i worked with others to harm him, that I was greedy and that I had been conspiring with outsiders to get back at him.â
âReally?â Adrien exclaimed, âHow could he think that? Youâre his own daughter.â
âI know, right? I canât figure it out either. As a father, how could he be so suspicious of his own child?
Uncle Adrien, they say a tiger doesnât eat its own cubs. Why is he so heartless that he wonât even spare his own child?â
There was silence on the other end of the phone. Suddenly, Kisa had a look of realization on her face.
âOh, sorry. I forgot that Uncle Adrien, you donât have children. You probably wouldnât understand Christopherâs way of thinking and acting.â
