Chapter 369 Thatâs Called a Lie Kisa lowered her eyes, not knowing how to answer this question. In her heart, Gilbert was definitely not a good man. She even thought he was the most ruthless kind of man. However, such an answer would disappoint the two little children. She ate her breakfast quietly, thinking about how to answer this question.
Gilbert was leaning back in his chair, staring at her nonchalantly. A slight smile was on his face as if he was interested in her answer, too.
Andrew ran out of patience and urged Kisa, âMaâam, what do you think of my daddy? In fact, in my opinion, Daddy treats you the best.â
Kisa tried hard not to laugh upon hearing what Andrew said. She knew children were naive and would only take things at face value. In her eyes, Gilbert was the most ruthless toward her, but she did not want to disappoint the two children. In fact, Gilbert knew how she thought of him. It did not matter if her answer was truthful. The most important thing now was to appease these two children.
She took a spoonful of the oatmeal and said casually to the two children, âYour daddy is indeed very good.â
âThen can you stay with Daddy? We would like you to be our mommy.â
Kisaâs hand holding the spoon froze in midâair. She tightened her hand on her knee, and the smile on her face gradually stiffened. âNo way. I will never be with your daddy in this life, nor will I become your mommy,â she said slowly.
She said it firmly, with no uncertain terms, in front of the children. Gilbert picked up the napkin and wiped his hands, his action elegant, but his eyes reeked of indifference. âYou are not even willing to coax them.â
âThe coaxing that canât become a reality, thatâs called a lie. The kids are still young. Do you think it is really good to lie to them?â
âA few wellâintentioned lies arenât a bad thing.â
As the atmosphere was getting tense, Andrewâs eyes darted around. He suddenly came in between Gilbert and Kisa, took their hands, and said, âDaddy, Maâam, can you two stop fighting? It is all my fault.
Ada and I wonât ask Maâam those questions anymore. Can you two stop fighting?â Andrew said, with a look of sadness on his face.
Kisa softened her stance, pulled back her hand, and said sullenly, âIâm not fighting with your daddy.â
Andrew looked at Gilbert again, his tiny brows knitted together.
Gilbert spread out his hands and chortled. âIâm not fighting with her, either.â
âSo you guys are just having an everyday bickering?â Ada propped her chin up with both hands and stared at them expectantly.
Kisa did not reply.
Gilbert chuckled and said, âYes, we are just bickering .â
Kisa stirred the oatmeal in her bowl and became more and more upset. She found her time with Gilbert in front of the two children depressing. Just as the atmosphere in the room slowly eased up, there was a knock at the door. Kisa got up and answered it.
Gilbert glared at her from behind her with anger. âYou really canât wait to see him, can you? The moment the doorbell rang, you rushed to open it, not afraid that there could be some bad guys outside.â

Kisaâs hand was already on the door handle when she heard him say this. She turned around and called him sick. âThis man is definitely sick. Iâm just answering the door, and he canât stop being sarcastic.â
But Gilbert was stunned when Kisa pulled the door open.
