Reborn Through Fire
Chapter 440 Treat This Heartless Scum So Nicely âWow, daddy, youâre back!â Ada came up to greet Gilbert joyfully.
Gilbert gently stroked her little bun of hair. âHave you been good today?â
âYeah. Andrew and I have been wellâbehaved today.â
Blake got up and said to Gilbert, âUncle Gilbert, Maâam just made dinner, and we havenât even started eating yet. So why donât you eat with us?â
Andrew ran into the kitchen to get a set of tableware, and Kisa was not very happy when she saw this.
She leaned back in her chair and grinned. âYou guys better not worry about him and just eat. He must have already eaten.â
âI havenât.â Gilbert suddenly spoke, his voice mixed with a hint of pity.
Kisa sneered. âDidnât you prepare a surprise for the woman tonight? Didnât you have a candlelight dinner with her?â
âYes, I did,â Gilbert said. âI just didnât eat it.â
âYou didnât eat it, so who is to blame?â Kisa snorted and sat up straight to serve the three children.
Ada pouted and looked up at Gilbert. âDaddy, are you sure you havenât eaten?â
âYes. Iâm sure, and Iâm starving.â
Ada brought him to the table and said to Kisa, âMaâam, my daddy is starving. Could you please let daddy eat with us?â
âSorry, Ada. I didnât prepare your daddyâs meal.â Why give that man food when he has gone to surprise other women? Why should I serve him and undervalue myself?â
Ada pursed her lips and said, âIâm willing to give my share to Daddy.â
âAnd my share.â âAnd mine, too.â Andrew and Blake said in unison.
Kisa had no words. âWhy do these three little children have to be so nice to this heartless scum? She was exasperated.
âDaddy, you sit down.â
Ada sat Gilbert down at the table and put her plate of food in front of him. Kisa watched on, and her eyes burst with anger. As if that was not enough, Andrew and Blake also brought their plates of food to Gilbert. Kisa glared at him. âThe three kids are growing up, and you want them to go hungry?â
Gilbert pursed his lips, lowering his head, and returned each of the three plates of food to them.
Ada became anxious. âDaddy, you have to eat. I donât want daddy to go hungry.â
Gilbert smiled and patted her on the head. âGood girl. I can just eat some vegetables.â
âHow will that work? Daddy is so big. A little bit of vegetables wonât be enough for you. Iâm the smallest here, and I can make do with little food,â Ada said and pushed her plate of food to Gilbert.
Kisa could no longer stand it and said to the three children, âHurry and eat. There is still your daddyâs food in the kitchen.â
âReally?â Ada did not believe her and tried to get off the chair.
Kisa grunted in frustration. âYou sit still while I serve your daddy.â
âOkay.â Ada nodded happily and sat back down.
Kisa went quickly into the kitchen, and when she came out again, she had a massive plate of food in her hand, a dinner that was more than the four of them combined.
Gilbert smiled. âDidnât you just say there was no food for me?â
