Reborn Through Fire
Chapter 490 He Is Not in Fatal Danger Madalyn hurriedly rose to her feet to meet him. Due to her impatient movements in addition to her older age, Madalyn almost fell from her stumbling footsteps. Fortunately, Jensen quickly held onto her.
Madalyn anxiously asked the doctor, â How is my grandson?â
âThe patientâs wounds are deep, and the new wound is right on the position of the old injuries with major blood loss. Thankfully, we were able to save him in time. He wonât be in any lifeâthreatening danger, but his body will be frail. He would need to recuperate for a while. âUpon hearing the first half of the sentence, Madalyn almost fainted from all the panic.
After hearing the final half of the statement, she finally let out a deep sigh of relief. Jensenâs strained nerves also slowly relaxed. Gilbert was immediately pushed out of the sick ward. His face was pale as paper and seemed to have no hint of vigor.
Madalyn sat at the side of the sick bed, caressing the back of Gilbertâs hand repeatedly. Her aging eyes were filled with distress.
Jensen leaned by the window, watching quietly. His heart had a strange feeling, a little bit of jealousy and a little bit of envy. The only time that he could receive that warmth from Madalyn was when he was sick. Hence, during his childhood, he would frequently wish to get sick. Sometimes, he would crouch in cold water just to get ill.
Thinking about it now, he felt that he was indeed pitifully petty then.
George the butler glanced at Gilbert and spoke to Madalyn,â Madam Kooper Sr., the master is fine. You can finally be at peace. In a moment, I will be handling the discharge procedures to allow him to recuperate at home. Besides that, I have informed Kelvin to let him check up on the young master again more thoroughly.â
Madalyn nodded her hair while stroking Gilbertâs forehead, âFortunately, Gilbert is fine. Otherwise, I wouldnât know how to bear it when Iâm at such an old age.â
Seeing the few people deliberately not mentioning Kisa, Sharon was afraid Kisa would be free of blame. She quickly complained to Madalyn, âHonestly! Gilbert just walked through Hadesâ gates, but Kisa wouldnât even show her face here. From what I see, she intentionally wants to take Gilbertâs life. If it was not for Jensen sending Gilbert to the hospital in time, Iâm afraid he would have died by Kisaâs hand this time.â
âThatâs enough, Ms. Case. The madam knows what sheâs doing regarding this issue. You should instead refrain from talking too much.â
âI just feel that Gilbert didnât deserve this. He had always protected that woman, but what did he get instead? Madam Kooper Srâ¦,â Sharon held onto Madalynâs arm and spoke angrily, âThis time, you have to punish Kisa heavily. You should not show her mercy so lightly this time.â
âThatâs enough. Iâve already known,â Madalyn softly replied to her soundly but surprisingly was not cross. George the butler also felt puzzled since Madam Kooper Sr. had always deeply resent Kisa. Kisa had hurt the young master badly. She was supposed to be very angry. However, Madam Kooper Sr.
was unusually calm. Seeing Gilbert not being in any lifeâthreatening danger, Jensen stayed in the sick ward for a while and soon left. He did not look for Kisa but merely sent Kisa short messages â He was not in life- threatening danger.
Kisa sat by the bed like a puppet. She quietly looked at the contents of the message, her face without a trace of emotion. The curtains in the room were pulled tightly shut, and the room was pitch black. The dim light from the cell phone on her face made her seem eerily frightened.
She stared at the phone for a long time, then only she replied with a message. She only asked Jensen to fetch the three kids after school on time. She also requested Jensen to look after the three kids appropriately for the next two days. She turned off her phone and lay on the bed after sending the messages. She covered her whole body under the sheets as if this act would make her feel safe.
Gilbert was in a coma for a day and night before waking up.
