Chapter 167
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 167:
It seemed RK planned to confront Aden today. Could it be that he dragged her along because he wanted a shield? After thinking about it for a while, Stella finally calculated the time and secretly sent a text to Tristan, hoping that he could pick up Adrian from kindergarten this afternoon.
In her current situation, she would have to work very late. All of this was for a salary. The poor had to live a hard life.
âGet in the car,â the man said, handing her the car keys.
Stella glared at him for a long time before saying, âYou expect me to drive you there?â
Gritting her teeth, Stella became the driver on the spur of the moment. He said she shouldnât expect him to drive her, so now she had to act as his driver.
âMr. Kingston, you are so bold! Arenât you afraid of the driver?â Sitting in the driverâs seat, Stella wanted to tie him up and throw him into the river to feed him to the fish.
âI am not. With your precious son, what should I be afraid of? Would I still seek death?â RKâs smile was rather annoying. He fastened his seat belt and said, âLetâs go.â
Stella, resigned to her fate, drove the car seriously, thinking about what to say when she saw Aden later. Both of them already knew each other, and he used to be good friends with the man beside her.
But since Alice jumped off the building for RK, everything had changed. Aden stubbornly placed all the blame on RK. She also believed that RK was wrong in how he handled the situation back then. For example, when Alice confessed her love to him, he criticized her, saying she was useless, and his words hit a sore spot for her.
She wasnât very clear about the details of the incident back then. She only knew that after Aliceâs death, Aden had completely fallen out with RK, and the relationship between the Smith family and the Kingston family had become very strained. Now that Aden had taken over the Smith family business, there was no need to elaborate on the relationship between the two families.
âWhat are you thinking about with that frown? Are you afraid that Aden will strangle you to death?â
There were a few sounds of laughter in his voice, which sounded completely inappropriate. If Stella werenât driving right now, she would have rolled her eyes at him and asked what had happened during Aliceâs death. Did she die because of him, or was there something else?
When Alice confessed to him, she was already married to him. She would be lying if she said that she wasnât scared of Aden getting angry and strangling her to death. She only had one life, and there was still a baby at home that she needed to raise, along with Tristan, Emily, and her grandmother. She couldnât take things lightly, no matter what she said.
Frowning deeply, Stella took a deep breath and couldnât help but ask him about the past. âWhen Alice confessed her love to you, did you hurt her by saying that she didnât deserve you?â
Step into a new world at gαâηÏνíâs.cøm âYes, I did.â
His answer was simple and clear, without any hesitation. It made Stella feel that if Aden was in the car, he would strangle RK to death from the back seat.
Since they were still far away and the weather today wasnât bad, she hesitated for a moment before asking again, âWhy did she jump off the building? Was it because you hurt her?â
âMiss Richard, donât you think you are talking a little too much? You seem very interested in your bossâs relationship experiences!â
âRK, Alice and I were friends. Canât I know why she jumped off the building?â
It had always been a mystery to her. However, because so much had happened between her and him, and she had been abroad for so many years due to their divorce, she couldnât ask him about Alice.
At that time, Alice had just died, and she had asked him about it, but he didnât tell her anything.
It had been a few years since then, so what was wrong with her asking now?
Stella felt that she had a right to know.
âFriend? You treated her as a friend, but she never saw you as one.â RK felt that she was listening to a joke. After that, Stella angrily voiced many questions, but he didnât answer them.
He leaned back and closed his eyes as if he were fast asleep. But she knew that he was very much awake.
They arrived at their destination. After they got out of the car, RK looked at her and suddenly said strangely, âIf Aden makes a move, stay away. Donât worry about me.â
âHuh? Stay away? And you say not to worry about you? You think too highly of yourself. Do you think I would come over and watch when you end up fighting? Are you messing with me? Iâm not that leisurely, nor do I want to help you.â
Aden had better punch him a few times to vent everyoneâs anger. Stella followed behind him and suddenly remembered Aliceâs face. She was her closest friend besides Emily.
Several years had passed in the blink of an eye. It would be great if she were still alive.
