Chapter 221

Love After Divorce by BELLA

Chapter 221:

In the past few days, she had been staying at the RK mansion every day, feeling as if she were in a cage. She was constantly watched and taken care of, with nothing to do, which made her uncomfortable. More than that, she couldn’t escape the feeling of being trapped.

Therefore, having someone visit her in person was a rare event. For Stella, it was a welcome change! Coincidentally, she hadn’t had time to explain to Kelly what had happened before. Now, Kelly was likely coming over to give her a piece of her mind!

After washing up quickly, Stella asked the servants to bring plenty of delicious food downstairs, along with her breakfast.

In the dining room, Kelly looked around the enormous mansion and exclaimed, “Stella! I didn’t expect you to be a canary! Oh, no... it seems you’re a rich woman instead! Living in this mansion all day and pretending to be poor with me! Come on, be honest—did Mr. Kingston pay you to be his live-in mistress?”

Stella was speechless. She almost spat out the mouthful of milk she had just drunk.

“What are you talking about? I really am poor!” Since she was young, even though she came from a good family and married into another, none of it had ever truly belonged to her.

Whether it was her family or her marriage, none of the treasures had ever fallen into Stella’s lap! There was no way she could be called a rich woman. To her, that title was simply laughable.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk. Who would believe that?” Kelly continued, glancing around at the lavish decorations. “You live in a mansion, with people waiting on you hand and foot! Don’t tell me you’re poor. Don’t make fun of me! So, how long have you been with Mr.

Kingston? What’s going on between the two of you?” she asked, curious.

“Nothing!” Stella denied immediately. As long as RK didn’t publicly acknowledge their relationship, she wasn’t going to say a word.

She didn’t want to be blamed if she let anything slip. At that point, everyone would simply wait for news of their inevitable divorce, laughing at her downfall.

So, from that perspective, Stella had no intention of revealing their relationship. Even though Kelly was her good friend, this was one secret she had to keep. Besides, RK had made it clear—she wasn’t allowed to talk about their marriage. She didn’t dare to disobey unless she wanted to face his punishment.

“Look at the time. It’s already noon, and you’re just now having breakfast, lounging around every day. When I arrived, I saw entertainment equipment in the yard! A horse stable, a golf course, and more! You don’t even need to leave the house to experience the world,” Kelly pointed out.

“Stella, I didn’t visit your house before, so I had no idea. But now, it’s an eye-opener! Your boyfriend is quite something—rich and willful!” Kelly teased. “I almost regret introducing Steven to you. He’s been missing you, asking me non-stop who the guy was that took you away from karaoke last time!”

“Now that I think about it, even though Steven is a young master, he can’t compare to this one in your household... No wonder you asked me not to introduce Steven to you. So, what’s the deal?” Kelly asked, still curious.

Stella rolled her eyes and scolded, “What are you talking about? It’s not like that!”

Why did everything Kelly said sound so inappropriate? Stella forced herself to eat the food on her plate.

For a moment, she didn’t know if she should tell Kelly the truth. If she didn’t, Kelly would probably think she was RK’s “kept woman.” But if she did, the knot in Stella’s heart would never unravel.

“No, Kelly, I’m single! I swear, I’m not lying to you!” Stella promised.

After all, to the outside world, RK was still seen as single. It wouldn’t be right to claim otherwise. Besides, hadn’t RK always wanted to keep their relationship a secret? She might as well keep quiet about it.
