Chapter 239
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 239:
Stella hadnât eaten much when a servant came in from outside. He said, âMiss Richard, Miss Sophia is here.â
Stella was speechless.
It was well known that in the past, when they were still in the Richard family, the two of them had little to do with each other. It was only because Tristan was around that their relationship wasnât completely severed. However, if Tristan or the other Richard family members werenât there, the relationship between the two sisters was always strained.
Whatâs more, Sophia had never been kind to her. Stella thought there was no way to refuse her visit.
Suddenly, there was a noise at the door...
âOh, Stella, youâre so comfortable. Lying in bed and getting served breakfast. Anyone who doesnât know better would think youâre lame and canât get out of bed!â Sophiaâs sharp voice pierced the room.
As usual, Stella was used to it.
The conflict between Sophia and Stella hadnât been a recent development; it had been brewing for years, so of course, it couldnât be resolved overnight.
Stella pursed her lips and said, âWhy do you have the time to come here, Sophia? I donât remember inviting you.â
Although Sophia was her sister, Stella never addressed her as âSister.â
It was because of Sophia and Isabella that her family had been torn apart.
So, the relationship between them was as cold as one would expect.

She smiled, but it was fake, a thin mask barely hiding the hostility between them.
Stella had long since been disappointed in their relationship.
Sometimes, she even hated David because of Sophia.
If it hadnât been for David and Isabella having an illegitimate daughter and hiding it from her and her mother, her family would have been united, and her mother wouldnât have met such a tragic end. Even now, she didnât know where the rumors about her mother had come from.
So, Stella had always been angry with them, and her relationship with David was strained.
At the same time, Sophia also felt uncomfortable when she saw Stella. It wasnât just because Stella had stayed in the Richard family for so many years, but also because of Tristan...
Whenever the two sisters argued, Tristan, their older brother, always sided with Stella, this âannoying sister.â
To make things worse, Sophia and Stella werenât even related by blood, which made Sophia despise her even more.
Tristanâs involvement was only part of the reason. More importantly, Sophia had never wanted Stella to stay in the Richard family since childhood. She believed that Stellaâs presence had changed their family dynamic.
As Stella quietly ate her breakfast, she kept her head down, saying nothing.
Sophia, acting like the mistress of the house, waved to the servants on both sides, motioning for them to leave. âYou can go now.
I have something to discuss with my sister,â she said with that fake smile, but at least she sounded polite.
Stella was already used to that fake smile.
The servants looked toward Stella for direction.
However, before she could respond, they left the room together.
To them, Sophia had a longer history with RK than Stella did. Sophia and RK had known each other long before Stella married him.
Moreover, the relationship between Sophia and RK had always seemed very close. Sophia visited the RK mansion just as often as Stella did, if not more. Everyone believed that Sophia was the woman in RKâs heart, not Stella. Even Stella thought so.
Otherwise, how could RK be so publicly close to Sophia on several occasions?
As Sophia spoke, she walked over to Stella, looking around the room with eyes that held even more hostility than before.
The gentleness and politeness Sophia showed to outsiders vanished. Her demeanor had shifted, and she looked cold and calculating.
Stella turned her head away, clearly unhappy, and asked, âWhat are you doing here?â
