Stella couldn’t help but laugh when she heard Kelly refer to Sophia as RK’s mistress. If Sophia ever found out, she would be furious. Stella smiled but didn’t say anything.

Kelly continued, “Stella, let me tell you something. When dealing with men, especially someone like Mr. Kingston, you need to step up your game. And look at how you’re dressed—it’s too plain! You need to be more feminine!”

Stella was speechless.

She was used to dressing simply. She glanced down at her outfit—just her usual pajamas, and not even stylish ones, but cartoon pajamas. She looked more like a student than anything else. For now, she couldn’t change her ways.

“I don’t want to dress like that,” Stella refused.

Since she was young, she had always dressed plainly. To be honest, even as a child, Sophia’s clothes were always prettier than hers. Isabella loved dressing up Sophia, and David had always favored her as well. He poured all his energy into Sophia.

As for Stella, she wore whatever she could and ate whatever she was given.

There were even times when Sophia would humiliate her by offering her old clothes. Stella refused to wear them, and David and Isabella would scold her for being ungrateful, saying that her “kind sister” had left clothes for her, and she didn’t appreciate it.

Those words wouldn’t have mattered if they were truly sisters. But everyone knew she and Sophia were far from close. Stella couldn’t bring herself to accept things thrown at her out of spite.

At first, David and Isabella would blame her, but fortunately, Tristan was there to ease the tension. Still, Sophia often tried to create distance between Stella and David, knowing Tristan would always step in to help her. Sophia changed her tactics, plotting behind the scenes to make sure Stella took the blame for many things.

“Stella, I think you’re too good-natured. That’s why you end up suffering,” Kelly said, concerned. “Back then, you didn’t play the game right, and you ended up getting hurt. Now, if you’re not careful, RK might slip away!”

Kelly’s advice was genuine. She wanted Stella to live a happy life, especially now that the situation was what it was. She didn’t want her friend to get hurt any further.

At the mention of Steven, Stella remembered she hadn’t replied to his messages from the previous night.
