Chapter 255
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 255:
Stella thought, âThatâs the only way!â
To be honest, there wasnât anything particularly bad about staying in the RK mansion, but being watched by that man every day made her feel uncomfortable.
âBy the way,â Kelly said, interrupting Stellaâs thoughts, âI just remembered something. Have you paid your tuition fees yet? I havenât paid mine for this semester. Letâs go to the college in a couple of days to take care of that!â
She then looked at Stella with concern and added, âHave you saved up enough for the tuition? If youâre short, I can lend you some money.â
Kelly knew all about Stellaâs situation, especially her difficult family background. She had always helped Stella when she could.
Despite growing up in the Richard family, Stellaâs life had been more ordinary than most, and her situation was far from privileged.
In an ordinary family, parents usually help their children with tuition, but for Stella...
Her mother wasnât in a position to help, and her father, David, had told Stella when she turned sixteen that she needed to start earning her own money. From that point on, he had stopped contributing to any of her living expenses or tuition fees.
Sophia, on the other hand, always had Davidâs support. Even though she was working now, David still gave her pocket money.
Sometimes, Stella wondered if she was really Davidâs biological daughter. How else could there be such a big difference in how he treated her and Sophia?
When Tristan was still around, things were different. He had helped pay for Stellaâs tuition ever since she was in high school. But ever since she married into the Kingston family, Tristan had disappeared from her life entirely.
Stella smiled faintly and nodded, âIâve saved enough.â
In reality, she had scraped together her savings. During the summer, she hadnât been able to work, so she stayed at the RK mansion the entire time, using her savings to cover her tuition. She had just enough for this year, but after that, she wasnât sure how sheâd manage.
âIâll need to find a job once college starts,â Stella said. âI have to save up for next yearâs tuition.â
Kellyâs heart ached for her friend. She reached across the table and gently placed her hand on Stellaâs. âStella, itâs okay. If you ever need more money, I can lend it to you, or I can ask my parents. You donât have to stress yourself out.â

Stella smiled and shook her head. âNo, itâs fine. Iâm almost twenty now, and itâs normal for me to work and take care of myself.
But thank you. If I really canât make it, Iâll ask you for help.â
Stella wasnât the type of person to accept help easily. She always felt guilty about taking from others and preferred to stand on her own feet.
Kelly nodded understandingly. âOkay.â
After chatting for a while longer at the café, the two friends parted ways. Mrs. Cassidy and the driver were waiting outside for Stella, just as they had been earlier.
Back at the RK mansion, Stella expected everything to be the same as usual. But to her surprise, RK was home.
As soon as Stella stepped into the house, she saw him sitting on the sofa, reading a newspaper. He sat with his usual straight posture, looking composed and distant.
Stella checked her phone. It was only four oâclock in the afternoon.
RK usually never left work this early. Why was he home today? He was always so focused on work, often staying at the office late into the night.
âWhy are you here?â Stella asked awkwardly as she walked over.
Every time RK was home, the atmosphere in the house seemed to change. It was as if the air itself became heavier, making it harder for her to breathe.
Whenever she was around him, she felt inexplicably nervous and cautious.
âI came back to see you,â RK replied, placing the newspaper on the coffee table. He turned his gaze to Stella, who was standing awkwardly behind him, and continued, âIâve already taken care of your tuition fees. Starting next month, the driver will pick you up from college every day. You donât need to stay there anymore.â
Stella was speechless.
She felt like sheâd just been struck by lightning.
She didnât need to stay at college anymore?
Just earlier, while she and Kelly were enjoying their afternoon tea, they had enthusiastically made plans to live together at the college dorm and have fun every day. Now this man was making decisions for her without even asking!
And the tuition fees? When had she asked him to take care of that? Why was he suddenly getting involved?
