Chapter 265
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 265:
âAre you done complaining?â RK walked over to Stella and sat down next to her, looking as if he was ready for a real conversation.
âItâs none of your business!â Stella adjusted her mood, trying to appear composed.
âAs I said, blood is thicker than water. No matter what, I am Adrianâs father. He will definitely accept me.â RK spoke with confidence.
âI donât want to argue with you about this, and I donât want to force Adrian into anything he doesnât want. Hence, I wonât interfere in your relationship with him,â Stella said, standing up from the steps and straightening her clothes, ready to leave.
âAll in all, thank you. Thank you for giving birth to Adrian, and thank you for letting him acknowledge me,â RK said, his expression as cold as ever, but his words were unexpectedly shocking.
âI donât need your thanks. I just want to live a peaceful and stable life with Adrian. If you really want to thank me, donât bother us anymore.â
âDo we always have to talk like this? Canât you be kind, Stella?â
âHow can I speak kindly when you wonât let Adrian and me go?â Stella shot back, leaving the stairwell before RK could lose his temper.
When Stella returned to the ward, Adrian was sitting on the bed, reading a comic book. As soon as he saw her enter, he quickly put the book down and stared at her with big, flickering eyes.
Oh no, was Darling angry at him? He didnât mean to upset her. He didnât forgive the bad uncleâhe just wanted help clearing the game level...
âDarling... Darling...â Adrianâs voice was soft and timid, making him look adorably innocent.
âHuh? Whatâs wrong?â Stella asked gently.
âAre you mad at me? I didnât mean to upset you...â

âBut, Darling, you are angry. I promise I wonât talk to the bad uncle anymore...â
âAdrian,â Stella corrected softly, âthat bad uncle is your father. He has the right to be close to you. Even I have no right to stop that.â
âBut, Darling...â Adrian looked genuinely upset.
âAdrian, if one day I canât be with you, and the bad uncle takes care of you, you must listen to him. And donât eat too many snacks! If you get too chubby, Iâll be very mad,â Stella said, trying to hold back her tears.
âNo! I want to stay with you forever, Darling. If you leave, I wonât know how to live. Please donât leave me!â Adrian cried, his small frame shaking with emotion.
Stella hugged him tightly, trying to soothe his fears. âDonât worry, Iâll never leave you. Iâll always be here to protect you. Donât cry, Adrian.â
Outside the ward, RK stood quietly, listening to their soft sobs. The complexities of life weighed heavily on him. He thought of Grace.
What would she say if she knew? Would she still trust him after learning he was trying to take Adrian away from Stella, her beloved granddaughter? The thought brought a bitter smile to RKâs face as he left the hospital.
Stella didnât go home that night. Instead, she slept on the sofa by the window. In the middle of the night, she often heard Adrian mumbling in his sleep. She couldnât make out what he was saying, but it broke her heart.
She regretted speaking so frankly in front of him. Adrian was just a child; he didnât deserve to carry such burdens. No matter how sad she was, she should have kept her feelings to herself.
But if she lost the custody battle, and Adrian had to live with RK, he would have to adjust. Would he be able to?
Sitting up on the sofa, Stella gazed at Adrian through the dim light, feeling utterly powerless.
What should she do? Adrian needed a father, but did that mean she had to give him up to RK? Adrian also needed her, and RK already had Alia. Why did he need Adrian too? Why did he have to fight for custody?
To be honest, Stella had never truly understood RKânot during their arranged marriage, their divorce, or even now as he insisted on taking Adrian from her. He was a closed book, never revealing his true self or intentions.
How lonely must his life have been without Alia by his side all these years?
Sometimes, Stella thought RK was a contradictory person. He did bad things, but there was always a reason behind them, making her feel both frustrated and helpless.
