Chapter 275

Love After Divorce by BELLA

Chapter 275:

“I’m bored to death!” Stella leaned back in her chair, clearly exasperated. “I’m supposed to be an elite! How can he leave an elite like me idle all the time?”

Emily burst into laughter. “You don’t know how good you’ve got it! You should be grateful. It’s great to sit around in a daze and still get paid!”

“Humph!” Stella pouted dramatically. “I want to leave a legacy, not just sit here!”

“Alright, alright, I’m out of here. I can’t take the president’s intimidating aura, it’s too much for me! Take care, Your Highness,”

Emily teased, waving goodbye.

“Yeah, yeah, get out of here!” Stella snapped playfully, watching Emily leave. What she didn’t realize was that the president’s office wasn’t as soundproof as she thought. While those outside couldn’t hear what was happening inside, everything happening just outside the office door could easily be overheard by RK.

RK, having finished reviewing documents, calmly walked out of his office just as Stella was lost in thought, sitting at her desk outside. He walked over and knocked on her desk, startling her out of her daydream.

“Let’s go,” he said simply. Stella had no choice but to follow him into the elevator.

Inside the elevator, Stella stood in the corner, feeling increasingly uncomfortable. The atmosphere was tense, and even though it was just the two of them in the spacious elevator, she felt like she couldn’t breathe.

“What’s wrong? Are you nervous being in the same place as me?” RK noticed Stella’s uneasiness, a teasing smirk playing on his lips.

“A little. You’re my boss, after all. It’s kind of intimidating to be in your exclusive elevator,” Stella replied, trying to sound nonchalant.

“What if I wasn’t your boss?” RK asked, his smile growing.

“Ah? You’re not going to fire me just because of the custody case, are you?” Stella asked nervously, already imagining the worst.

“Do I have to fire you if I don’t want to be your boss?” RK’s words hung in the air as he watched her reflection in the elevator wall.

With a ding, the elevator reached their destination. RK, still smiling, stepped out without explaining further, leaving Stella to follow him, still confused. They both got into RK’s car, and soon, they were speeding off toward the hospital.

Although it was late and most employees had already left the building, a few security guards and cleaning staff were still around.

They couldn’t help but notice the president escorting Stella into his private elevator, and soon after, driving away together in his car.

By the next morning, the company would be buzzing with new gossip. The rumor mill would surely be churning out stories about the mysterious relationship between the president and Stella.

When they arrived at the hospital, RK and Stella headed upstairs to Adrian’s room. Adrian, who had been playing with his toys, immediately perked up when he saw them.

“Darling! Bad Uncle! You’re here!” he called out excitedly, his eyes lighting up.

Stella found Adrian’s enthusiasm a bit odd. He seemed more energetic than usual.

“What’s going on, Adrian? Why are you so hyper today?” Stella asked, eyeing him suspiciously.

“No, I’m not, Darling! I’m always like this, aren’t I?” Adrian tried to act nonchalant but couldn’t hide his mischievous grin.

“Come on, tell the truth, or I won’t spare you,” Stella teased with a smile. “Did anyone visit you today?”

“Er...” Adrian hesitated, clearly caught. Embarrassed, he scratched his head and giggled. “Uncle Tristan came by. He told me I should read more books.”

“Did you read?” Stella asked.

“Yeah, but it was soooo boring,” Adrian pouted, hoping for sympathy.

“Alright, alright. No rush with the studying. Let’s clean up and have dinner,” Stella said, brushing aside his complaints.

Adrian obeyed, sitting still and preparing for dinner. Meanwhile, RK’s mood had noticeably shifted. He was clearly irritated upon hearing that Tristan had visited Adrian, but he stayed silent, his expression darkening.

Ignoring Adrian’s antics, Stella settled down beside the bed and prepared to serve dinner, while RK stood in the background, clearly stewing.
