Chapter 284

Love After Divorce by BELLA

Chapter 284:

During the basketball competition, the campus belle managed to get RK’s number and called him, pretending she had fallen and couldn’t walk to the hospital. RK’s response was cold and dismissive:

“If you can’t walk to the hospital, call an ambulance yourself!” Then he hung up, leaving the girl in tears. For years, she believed her beauty had failed her because RK didn’t care.

Back to the present, RK stared at the woman in front of him for five minutes, making her visibly uncomfortable.

“Mr. Kingston, I... Mr. Vives sent me. He wanted me to...” The young woman couldn’t bring herself to finish the sentence, standing awkwardly in front of him.

Mr. Vives wasn’t the only one who had wanted her there. She knew very well that if RK took a liking to her, she could rise to the top of society overnight. But she also feared the consequences. Those who entered this world rarely had happy endings.

“What did Mr. Vives tell you to do?” RK asked casually.

“He said I must make you happy,” she replied, hopeful he might be interested.

“Oh? Make me happy? Then sing a song first,” RK said, much to her surprise.

“Ah? Mr. Kingston, what song would you like me to sing?” she stammered, clearly caught off guard.

“Sing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.'”

The woman was puzzled but complied.

“Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are...” she sang, unsure of why he made such a strange request.

Latest novels at gⱯlnσνeℓs.cøm RK was suddenly lost in a memory. After he and Stella got married, he spent her first birthday with her. He hadn’t had time to buy her a gift, and when he asked what she wanted, she shook her head and simply said, “Sing me a song.”

“I don’t sing much,” he had replied.

“Just sing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ from the primary school book,” she insisted.

And so, he sang it to her. The melody brought him back to that night, her birthday. He hadn’t given her any present then, but she seemed so happy just with his song.

Later, he had bought her a sterling silver necklace with a star-shaped pendant, adorned with a light blue diamond in the center.

She loved it and wore it often. After their divorce, he had found that necklace left behind on her dressing table. He carried it with him ever since, as if it still held her warmth.

“Have you finished singing?” RK snapped out of his thoughts.

“Yes, I’m done,” the woman said nervously.

“Okay, you can go now.”

“Hmmm?” she stuttered, surprised.

“I’m tired. I want to rest,” he said coldly, and the woman left quietly, confused.

On the day RK returned from his business trip, it happened to be the day Adrian could finally have his cast removed. Adrian, filled with excitement, acted as if he were embarking on a grand mission.

“Hey, Darling, is Bad Uncle coming today?” Adrian asked.

Stella realized she hadn’t informed RK, so she quickly called him.

“Hello?” RK had just gotten off the plane and was surprised to hear from Stella.

“Adrian’s cast is being removed today. You can see it if you come,” she said abruptly and hung up before he could respond.

RK was left holding the phone, fuming. How could she just hang up like that without waiting for him to reply? Rude!
