Chapter 299
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 299:
During the meal, Stella couldnât stop smiling. RK noticed her expression and figured something amusing must have happened in the company lobby. Otherwise, she wouldnât have such a helpless grin on her face.
âWhat are you smiling at?â RK asked as he continued eating his meal with his usual elegance.
âNothing, nothing,â Stella replied, covering her mouth to hide her laugh. âI was just thinking... have you always been this popular?â
âWhy do you say that?â RK raised an eyebrow but continued eating, seemingly unbothered.
âJust now, in the lobby of your company, a male colleague told me that he liked you,â Stella explained, her smile widening as she struggled to contain her laughter.
âOh, heâs not the first one,â RK replied casually, as if dealing with confessions like this was a regular occurrence for him.
âSo, how do you reject them?â Stella asked, curious.
âTo be honest, boys are easier to turn down than girls. All you have to do is tell them you have a girlfriend, and most of the time, theyâll back off. Girls, on the other hand, are more persistent.â
RKâs explanation intrigued Stella, and she listened intently. He went on to explain that when a guy hears someone he likes is already in a relationship, he tends to accept it and move on. But with girls, itâs different. The competition among them can be fierce, and they donât back down so easily, much like the rivalries in an ancient emperorâs harem.
Stella found his explanation surprisingly insightful. It was something she had never thought of before, but now it made sense.
After their meal, RK drove Stella home before heading back to his office.
In his office, RK watched the surveillance footage of what had happened in the company lobby earlier that day. He saw the male colleague confessing to Stella and the group of staff observing the scene.
âAlex,â RK called his assistant over the phone, âtell the man in the video who spoke to Stella that today was his last day. As for the ones standing around watching, deduct a monthâs salary and three monthsâ bonuses.â
Gal n o v el s . com is your destination for fiction Alex couldnât help but admire RKâs swift and ruthless decision-making. In no time, the male colleague had packed his things and was escorted out of the building, and no one dared to talk about embarrassing the presidentâs wife in public again.
Surprisingly, RK wasnât angry as he watched the footage. In fact, he felt oddly satisfied.
âHave you confessed your love to RK?â
Stellaâs simple response to the male colleagueâs confession still echoed in his mind. Her words were almost dismissive, as if she found the whole situation both amusing and absurd. He couldnât help but admire her attitude.
Stella, on the other hand, had no idea what happened after her encounter. She didnât know that Aden had also visited RK that day and had witnessed the male colleague making a grand scene at the companyâs entrance, even kneeling to confess to RK.
Aden later told Stella he regretted not recording the bizarre moment.
Stella could believe the boldness of that colleague. After all, if he had the nerve to confess to her, he certainly wouldnât hesitate to reveal his feelings to RK. But the poor guy got fired. Was it while she and RK were having lunch? And how did RK know about what happened so quickly? He was a sharp and intelligent man, after all.
RK was indeed a man who didnât allow flaws or loose ends in his life. Stella found herself marveling at how he always seemed to know everything, even without being told directly. He was a man who always stood at the top, able to read people like an open book, including her. He had seen through her back then, just as he could see through others now.
Stella, an expert in psychology, knew how to observe and interpret othersâ behaviors. But with RK, it was different. He had an uncanny ability to discern the truth, and she had never lied to him throughout their marriageâexcept for one thing: about their child.
In many ways, RK and Stella were polar opposites, each standing on extreme ends of life. Perhaps fate had brought them together to test their resolve or to challenge their destinies. Yet, despite everything, Stella couldnât shake the feeling that she had missed the chance to truly seize the opportunity fate had given her.
