Chapter 348
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 348:
âGirl, do you know how to speak? Faced with such a handsome man like me, do you have the heart to say such hurtful words?â
Carson looked like he was about to cry.
âWell, Iâm used to looking at RKâs face, so Iâm immune to everyone else.â
Stellaâs words were like a sharp dagger, piercing Carsonâs heart. This girl didnât know how to hold a conversation. RK had no idea how protective she was of him; she was truly a good person.
âHey, who is this? Stella, do you have a guest?â Adenâs voice cut through the awkward atmosphere just in time.
âI was wondering who it was. So itâs Young Master Aden.â Carson smiled brightly at the sight of Aden.
âIf I hadnât come, wouldnât I have found you all wrinkled up?â Adenâs words were sharp and piercing. For someone like Carson, arguing with him was not wise.
âAden, we havenât seen each other for so many years. Youâre still as stinky as before. Didnât you brush your teeth before you went out today?â
âOf course! Can I see you after brushing my teeth?â Carson felt an urge to laugh at himself.
âLetâs go, Carson. We should head out and let Stella rest. Sheâs still a patient and needs to recuperate.â With that, Aden left the hospital with Carson.
The two arrived at the basketball court. âCarson, you were no match for me in school. How about now?â Carson was eager to accept Adenâs challenge.
âAlright, Aden. Back then, I didnât know your true level. Now is the time for me to take a look. Otherwise, you wouldnât even know what a crushing defeat feels like,â Carson said excitedly.
Aden looked at him confidently, as if to say, âI will win. Who am I afraid of?â The two began a fierce game of basketball, ending with a score of 2-1.
âWhat do you think? Youâve never admitted defeat before. Now you know how it feels,â Aden patted Carsonâs shoulder with a smile.
â¥âáµ£â ᵤâdââââ áµ¢â gââââáµ¥âââ.í¸ââ To be honest, Aden noticed that Carsonâs leg had been injured during the game. That pain hindered his movements; otherwise, he wouldnât have lost with such a narrow score.
âHmph, Aden, youâre nothing more than this. When Iâm in top shape, Iâll beat you so badly youâll wet yourself!â Carson was unwilling to admit defeat.
âHaha, thatâs good.â
The two laughed, linking arms as they headed to eat together. They shared a bond, and their ability to laugh together without grudges spoke volumes.
During the meal, Carson mentioned something he shouldnât have.
âHey, Aden, why didnât I see your little sister when I came back this time?â Adenâs expression changed.
âWhatâs wrong? Did something happen?â Carson asked.
âAlice... She... Sheâs dead!â
âWhat?â Carson felt unable to accept the fact. When he left, she was still a lively little girl. How could she be gone?
âThen why... What happened?â
âShe jumped off a building and ended her life!â Adenâs revelation left Carson even more shocked. How could such a lovely girl take her own life by jumping off a building?
âI only found out about Aliceâs real cause of death more than a month ago,â Aden slowly explained. âI always thought it was RK who killed her. It wasnât until more than a month ago that I realized that wasnât the case at all!â
âI used to think that Alice ended her life by jumping off the building after confessing to RK and being humiliated. To be honest, I didnât know that she met a few hooligans when she went home that night. She was...â
âShe couldnât accept the reality. The next day, she chose to jump off the building. When RK found out, his first reaction was to hide this matter to preserve Aliceâs dignity.â
âIâve been misunderstanding him all this time.â
After hearing the truth, Carson felt a mess of emotions. In his mind, RK wasnât as kind as he used to be. Wasnât he always a cold, heartless person who only cared about profit? How could he be kind enough to protect a girlâs dignity? That was too unreasonable; it didnât seem like him at all.
Carson felt helpless and confused, as if struck by lightning.
âDonât be sad. Luckily, you hated RK for so many years. Otherwise, you wouldnât have been able to cope.â
