Chapter 508
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 507:
âWell, then Iâll wait for you at the school gate. Letâs have dinner together.â Now, Damien cherished every opportunity to meet Stella.
âEmily, I find that you are getting more and more obsessed with yourself. You still need to change clothes when you go out for dinner this evening, and no one is looking at you at night.â Stella set her phone aside and looked at Emily, who was getting dressed.
âHumph, you donât understand.â Emily admired her reflection in the mirror and turned around gracefully.
After Emily finished getting ready, they walked hand in hand to the school gate and saw Damien waiting for them in the distance.
Emily walked up to Damien and asked, âDo you think I look beautiful today?â
âYes, beautiful. Sister Emily is very beautiful every day.â However, Damien secretly thought to himself that she was never as beautiful as Stella.
The three of them walked out as if they were taking a leisurely stroll. If it werenât for Stellaâs hunger, she would have thought they had come out for a walk instead of to eat.
Stella looked up at the sky...
All of a sudden, she missed the sky filled with stars and the beautiful person who used to smile at her. âDing...â
At that moment, Stellaâs cell phone rang. She took it out and saw that the caller ID was the person she had been thinking of.
âHello?â Stella answered, holding the phone.
âHello, have you slept well?â RK stood by the window, gazing at the night scene outside. He suddenly thought of the time they were on a pilgrimage, when he walked with Stella every night. Unconsciously, he picked up his phone and dialed her number.
LâŦâ¬$â Ãââ³Ã¾Å§Ã«ÑŠ¡η gíªlíovÑlí.í¸Ð¾m âYes. Iâm going out to have something to eat.â Hearing that Stella was on the phone with RK, Damien frowned.
âOkay.â RK recalled how Stella had been singing a childrenâs song like a child that day. A smile spread across his lips, so much so that even RK himself didnât notice it.
âWell, bye-bye. Go to bed early.â Looking at Stellaâs smiling face, Damien felt very uncomfortable.
After hanging up the phone, Stella noticed that both Damien and Emily were looking at her. She smiled and felt a bit embarrassed.
âI met Stella first, but she is going to marry RK. Maybe she never belonged to me?â
In the blink of an eye, time passed quickly...
Damien was about to leave, with only a few days left before Stellaâs wedding.
âDamien, are you sure you donât want to attend my wedding before leaving?â Stella felt uncomfortable seeing the forced smile on Damienâs face.
âNo, I donât want to. I canât call you sister-in-law in front of so many people.â Damien forced a smile, hiding his sadness from view.
âDamien, Iâll come and visit you when Iâm free.â Emily placed a comforting hand on Damienâs shoulder.
âBe careful on your way. Remember to text me and Emily when you arrive.â Stella knew they couldnât keep Damien. She thought it was good for him to go abroad so he could find out what he wanted.
Damien smiled at Stella and Emily and extended his arms to them. The two stepped forward and hugged Damien together.
Suddenly, Stella thought of the boy who had followed her since high school and was about to leave. She felt a pang of reluctance.
Damien patted their shoulders and secretly wiped away the tears at the corners of his eyes. He forced a smile and let go of them. After saying goodbye, he turned around and walked to the boarding gate without looking back.
âStella, when do you think we can see Damien again?â
Emily wiped the tears from her eyes. Watching Damienâs figure disappear little by little made her nose ache again.
âI donât know, but one thing Iâm sure of is that we will meet again in the future.â Stella was uncertain when she could see Damien again, but she was confident they wouldnât lose contact.
âLetâs go back.â Stella glanced at Damienâs figure and patted Emily on the shoulder.
Emily nodded.
Stella and Emily turned to leave.
Damien, who had just lost sight of their backs, watched Stella and Emily leave in silence.
Three days later, in a church...
The priest walked up to the altar and solemnly placed his hand on the holy scripture. He read a prayer aloud.
A lot of words came from the priestâs mouth. The general message was that this was a marriage blessed by the gods, and the gods would watch over this couple from heaven. In addition, the guests in the auditorium looked on with sympathy as they witnessed the ceremony. Stella felt a deep sense of peace and serenity in her heart.
Just as Stella was lost in thought, the priest descended from the altar and approached RK and Stella. He spread out the scripture with his right hand and placed it on RKâs palm. He then placed RKâs right hand on Stellaâs. âNow, please swear in the name of God that all your answers are true and of your own will.â The priestâs solemn voice resonated in the auditorium.
RK raised his left hand without hesitation and solemnly swore to the priest and the cross on the altar. Everything he said was true and sincere, with no lies at all.
After RK finished his oath, the priest turned to Stella. Stella nervously placed her hand on the manuscript and followed suit.
Stella completed her oath.
The priest then spoke in a low voice, âRK, Stella, you have come to this sacred altar today to marry in front of your parents, relatives, friends, and all the guests. Marriage is sacred and inviolable. The responsibility of marriage is great, and it is a match made in heaven. Therefore, you must grow old together. Now, in the name of the divine, please express your vows sincerely.â
The priest continued, âMr. Kingston, are you here of your own accord to get married?â RK replied, âYes.â
The priest then turned to Stella. âMiss Stella, are you here voluntarily to get married?â
Looking into the priestâs pure eyes, which seemed to see through peopleâs hearts, Stella gritted her teeth and forced herself to say yes.
The priest frowned slightly and continued, âSince you two chose this path of marriage, are you willing to respect and love each other for the rest of your lives?â
RK and Stella looked at each other and replied in unison, âYes.â
âSince you two have decided to become husband and wife, please shake hands and swear to the Lord and your family and friends at the same time.â
RK took Stellaâs right hand and clasped it tightly in his palm. He looked straight into her eyes and vowed in a serious tone, âI, Rene Kingston, am willing to accept you as my legal wife. From now on, no matter the good, the bad, the poor, the rich, the healthy, or the sick, I will always support you and love you. I will share your pain and build a happy family with you. I swear to the gods that I will always be loyal to you.â
For some reason, Stellaâs heart ached. She suddenly felt that there was nothing wrong with taking Sophiaâs place and marrying RK.
Her nose became sore, and tears gradually blurred her vision.
She felt the warmth of his palm; it was so warm that her fingers intertwined with his as if they were meant to grow old together.
Stella also suddenly took their marriage seriously. No matter the wealth or illness, success or failure, she would be with him. She would share in his joys and sorrows, and she would protect him until the day she passed away.
This was such a magnificent oath. Stella absorbed every word into her heart.
âThis is Heavenâs will, the will of Heaven, to bless your old age.â
