Chapter 43

I smiled nuzzling up to Calum who laid beside me half naked. His skin warm and soft , I placed a kiss below his ear. Calum rolled over his eyes fluttering open and a brief smile that he made before closing his eyes again as I turned over straddling him leaving a trail of kisses up his neck before coming face to face with him.

His eyes once opened again and leaned up to kiss me , I scrunched my face together allowing the soft sound of his laughter to escape. He knew I wasn't a fan of kissing before we brushed in case we had morning breath but he always told me he didn't care he just loved waking up and being able to kiss me.

''Good morning. '' he said he voice whispered ,

''Morning.'' I smiled laying my head down on his chest.

We stayed in the position for awhile , I listened to the soft beating of his heart while he stroked and curled my hair with his fingers. Once I started cramping I got up and made my way to the kitchen to fetch bottles for the twins before they woke up.

''What are the plans for today?'' Calum asked walking out from the bedroom in clean clothes , his hair slightly wet from the shower. He grabbed a bowl and filled it with cereal then sat down at the table.

''I didn't know if you were doing anything with the boys. But i did want to cook you a dinner to make up for the one I missed.''

''Rebecca...''

''I want to okay? Please let me its the least i can do.''

''Okay. Can we take the kids to the park today maybe?'' he said , I turned around with a confused expression on my face ''-what?'' he half laughed.

''It was just a strange thing to come out with , of course we can you don't have to ask me idiot.'' I smiled shaking my head ,

''Well ... I thought it would be nice to you know , do some normal things before everything gets hectic again with the band.''

There was a small park located a little awhile from the house so we decided to take a leisurely walk there with the kids in the stroller me and Calum small talked about the new album and recording.

Once we got to the park we headed over to the swings first which were unoccupied , since the kids were still young we were unable to use majority of the park equipment.  I put James in one swing and Calum put Rosalie in another. We began swinging them both forward and backwards as the sound of small giggles erupted.

''I can't believe how big they are getting.'' Calum smiled looking down at the two , he was right it was crazy they were both six months old now and it feels like it has only been six days since i had them its crazy how much has happened in the past couple of months.

''I know.'' I smiled in agreement , Calum stood in front of the swing Rosalie and whispered 'rawr' and pretended to grab her feet every time she would swing towards him.

''I am surprised there is no paparazzi to be honest , '' I say looking around the park for anyone but seeing nothing but mindless children running around.

''Must be their day off.'' Calum joked , soon after this he took James up to one of the slides putting him in between his legs and sliding down. He repeated this with Rosalie after. Calum was such a big kid and the kids were his one excuse now to be able to act like one and i loved it.

After all that the kids got eventually worn out so we put them back into the stroller and within seconds they were asleep it was a miracle and we figured we should do this more often.

''I'm going to get an ice cream do you want one?'' he asked poking out his tongue at me , I rolled my eyes at his child like mind but gave into him with a nod. I looked around the park and noticed a blonde guy on a zip wire , I soon enough realized it was Luke and I burst out into laughter.

''What's funny?'' Calum asked passing me an ice cream cone , I pointed over to Luke and he grinned widely.

''AND YOU THINK IM CHILDISH!'' He yelled out dramatically , Calum took my hand and we pushed the stroller over to where Luke was.

''CALUM CAN YOU GET THAT!'' I called hearing the knock at the door , I was busy cleaning up the kitchen and setting out the plates. I soon heard the sound of mine and Calums parents , I came to a halt.

''Come in Rebecca is just finishing dinner up...'' I heard him say. I walked out the kitchen with a smile plastered on my face greeting both my parents and in laws.

''Hi I didn't realize you were all coming tonight...'' I laughed looking over to Calum he smiled nervously and they all apologized looking towards Calum.

''I forgot I'm so sorry!!'' he face palmed shaking his head side to side.

'I'll just have to cook some more , be back in a minute.'' I said walking back into the kitchen frustrated that he had forgotten to mention we'd be cooking for six extra guests since both my step dad (mums husband) and step mom (dads wife) had decided to come.

Calum walked into the kitchen wrapping his arms around my waist and mumbling a sorry into my shoulder then leaving a small kiss there.

''Calum  get out of the kitchen. I need to cook more food now I wish you gave me more notice then this!'' I exclaimed stressed.

''I just thought it'd be a good idea , since our parents don't know we're like... back together? We are back together right?'' he panicked I let out a soft sigh turning the heat down and facing him. I went up on my tip toes and placed a soft kiss on his lips and nodded.

''Of course we are , I'm just stressed and overwhelmed right now. I thought it was just going to be us two tonight.''

''Listen go socialize and i'll fix up the food. Its my fault anyway and princess we'll have plenty of nights alone together I promise.'' I let out a sigh of relief and thanked him as I grabbed a few glasses and a bottle of wine from the top cupboard then went into the living room to serve them with drinks.

''Oh Rebecca we can go if its too much , We wouldn't of come if we knew you didn't know anything about it.'' Joy said sweetly and I smiled shaking my head.

''It's all fine now , you just caught me off guard that is all. Your son is always forgetting things '' I joked

''You could say that again.''My father mumbled and I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion before sitting down.

''What are you trying to say?'' Calums dad asked looking at mine sternly.

''Nothing just he seemed to forget he had a wife when he cheated on my daughter...Not forgetting leaving his grandchildren for months.'' he said , Calum entered the room with the food on plates and catched what my father had said.

''I'll help you with the serving , '' I said leaving the table and following him out to the kitchen.

''He hates me your dad hates me''Calum said pacing up and down the room.

''Calum he is just angry and upset. Please don't take it to heart anything he says I'm not going to listen to. I'm not just going to give up on you that easy Calum.''

''I made a mistake one stupid mistake and every time I think I've moved on from it , I get reminded time and time again.'' he yelled placing his hands on his head. I walked up to him taking his hands on mine and caught his eyes with my own.

"I'm not going anywhere.'' I whispered kissing him gently and taking his hand to pull him into the living room.

''Me and Calum are back together and we're really happy with each other. If anyone of you have a problem with it you're going to have to deal with it. Stupid mistakes were made on both our parts but the main thing is that we're all happy including the kids. I am asking for you to respect our decisions that we have made.'' I said letting out a deep breath after which I didn't know I had kept in. Seven pairs of eyes looked at me , one pair being Calums nervous yet gentle ones.

My mother was the first to break the silence by smiling then raising her glass to toast to us 'To Calum and Rebecca. A New beginning and the next chapter for them.'' eventually everyone had agreed to raise their glass and toast to us.

My mum and joy helped me in the kitchen with the dishes after dinner while the males bonded over some football match. My father left after the dinner he didn't speak much , I know he doesn't want Calum to hurt me again but he can't act this immature.

'I've noticed you're not wearing your engagement ring Rebecca.' Anne said , I looked down at my hand and realized she was right. I haven't put it on or looked at it since the night I told Calum it was the end. It is still in my dressing room draw back in the apartment , which reminds me I need to go back and get the rest of my stuff.

'Well its probably too soon for that Anne.' Joy said giving me a sympathetic smile. I nodded my head in agreement and carried on washing up the plates to give to my Mum to dry. Two arms snaked around my waist and a kiss was placed at the side of my head.

''How are my four gorgeous girls.'' he smiled referring to myself, Joy , my mum and Rosalie who was sitting in her high chair while Joy fed her. James was bonding in the living room with my step father John and Calums dad.

''What a charmer.'' My mum smiled , I rolled my eyes letting out a soft laugh.

''Don't drool mum.'' I joked and she replied with a hit with the tea towel

''OWW'' I yelled causing her to laugh.

''Well we won't keep you much longer have a nice night.'' Joy said waving and exiting the door.

''Bye darling'' mum said kissing me on the forehead and hugging Calum.

Once both of our parents were gone I shut the door and we both let out a deep breath. Laughing at one another reaction Calum pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly .

''Tonight was actually better then I thought.'' I admitted.

''Go have a shower and i'll put the kids to bed and we can watch a movie or something okay?''

''Okay.'' I smiled.

''Maybe okay will be our always...'' he mocked

''shut up Calum that was such a sad film.'' I whined causing him to scoff , I walked away and squealed turning around to face a smirking Calum.

''Did you just slap my ass Calum Hood?''

''Maybe...'' he winked

''Meet me in the bedroom in fifteen minutes.'' I whispered and ran off giggling while he rushed around like a headless chicken.

''I love you.'' he mumbled into ear , we were laying in bed next to each other cuddling and everything felt right. I felt safe in his arms and felt like I belonged there , I nodded my head softly leaning it onto his chest while he twirled strands of my hair.

''I love you too Calum.'' I whispered before closing my eyes.

''We have to sort out what we're going to do with the apartment.''

''Well obviously we're not going to use it , we could just sell it... how about seeing if Lauren or one of her friends is looking for a place?'

''Next to that psychopath no thanks,''

''What are we doing with him? I know you have a restraining order but when is the court date?'' he asked ,

''I don't know sometime this month... I'm still scared Calum I don't want to be anywhere near him'' I whispered , Calums gripped tightened and he kissed my lips softly.

''Its okay , he's not going to hurt you. I'm going to be there and we'll get you the best lawyer so this prick can pay for what he did.'' he reassured me.

The screeching echo of baby cries rang through the room I jolted up looking around the room and my hand was grabbed by Calum. I looked to my left and he whispered 'lay down.' I did and he got up making his way out the room to go soothe whichever twin was screaming.

The next morning we decided to go clean out the apartment and have a garage sale , some stuff we had put aside to send to charity but some other things we decided fans could stop by and buy. Getting out the car I gulped looking up at the apartment building before entering Calum followed behind me , I said a few hellos to some of the neighbors. Promise ran out of one of the neighbors house the little girl following behind.

''He's missed you,'' she said sweetly

''How has he been... she looks very happy with you.'' I smiled stopping to stroke the beautiful dog that once had so much meaning to me. It was just impossible to look after him once I had the twins but its good he went to a good home.

''Wow he's got so big.'' Calum said stroking him also.

''We're taking heim on a walk you can come if you like.'' she smiled ,

''Maybe another time we need to clean out some stuff. Have a good time and tell your mum I said hi.'' I said to her. She nodded her head and ran off inside Promise running off with her.

I walked into the apartment and looked around. It looked so dull and unhappy , the floors haven't been cleaned in months. It was dark and dingy and nothing like I remembered it to be , it just brought back pain and discomfort. We eventually got to work and started sorting through what could go to charity , what to go to storage , what we want and what we can put in the garage sale.

''Look what I found.'' Calum smiled twirling the engagement and wedding ring around in his hands.

''I knew i put it somewhere...''I half smiled his eyes softened and he put them down onto the dressing table.

''Its okay there is no rush Rebecca. I understand'' he said and went back to shifting boxes.

I looked back and fourth between the rings and placed them on my finger looking at them for awhile. I removed them when Calum walked back in and began helping him clear out the stuff. I decided i'll come to the decision whether to wear them later on. The final boxes were taken out and I closed the door bumping into Calums back.

''Calum what are you ... doing.'' I spoke staring at the last person I wanted to come into contact with Logan.

''Please I don't mean any harm.'' He says

''Calum I want to go.''

''You don't mean no harm are you having a fucking laugh mate?'' Calum laughed sarcastically stepping forward , I grabbed his arm pulling him he looks back for a moment and I stare at him with pleading eyes.

''I want to go now Calum.'' I mumble , he lets go of his anger and guides me in front of him to go down the stairs as we exit the apartment.

''I'M SORRY REBECCA!'' I hear Logan shout down , and I fight the urge to go up there and murder him myself for what he has done to me.

''I wish you just let me beat him up.'' he mumbled as he made the right turn onto the motorway.

''Calum will you just drop it.'' I sighed looking out of the window at the passing cars.

''He deserves it , Why are you trying to protect that asshole?''

''I'm not protecting him Calum , I am trying to stop you from doing anything stupid..''

''. Do you not remember what he did Rebecca? fuck.''

''YES I DO CALUM. IT HAPPENED TO ME NOT YOU OKAY? I WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU JUST FUCKING DROP IT.'' I yell causing the car to go silent.

''I'm sorry okay. I just got frustrated I don't want to fight with you. I love you so much and we just got things working. But I also feel like you haven't spoke about... that night to anyone.''

''I don't want to talk about it Calum.''

''Like how I didn't want to talk about my problems... Please Rebecca even if its not me at least talk to someone else A friend? someone in the family or even a counselor?''

''I'll think about it can we just drop it for now...please?''

''Okay.'' he says pulling up outside the house.
