CHAPTER 45

Forced QUEEN

Happy Reading....<3

Finally Confession....<3

The silence of the night was deafening in Meera's lavish seven-star hotel suite. The distant hum of the city was barely audible, muted by the luxurious glass walls. She had been lying on the massive king-sized bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. Something about the day had unsettled her.

A faint creak echoed through the room, and her heart skipped a beat. She froze, her breath caught in her throat. The bedroom door, secured by state-of-the-art locks, was slowly inching open.

Her eyes widened as a dark shadow slipped inside, silent and deliberate. She wanted to scream, but fear gripped her, rendering her motionless. Every instinct told her to run, but her body refused to comply. The figure moved closer, its presence commanding and familiar, though she couldn't yet place it.

The bed dipped under the weight of the intruder. She trembled, her pulse racing. And then, she felt it a hand on her waist, firm but tender, and the warmth of a body curling around her. The scent hit her first, a mix of sandalwood and musk that she knew too well.

Her fear dissolved into a mix of confusion and exasperation as she whispered,

"Vidyuth."

"Shh,"

His deep voice murmured, his lips brushing against her ear.

"Did you miss me, my queen?"

Anger bubbled up alongside relief.

"What are you doing here? How did you even get in?"

He chuckled softly, his grip tightening slightly.

"When have locks ever stopped me from coming to you, Meera?"

Despite herself, her body relaxed against his. His audacity was infuriating, but his presence was undeniable. He was the storm she couldn't escape, the chaos that made her heart race.

"You're impossible,"

She muttered, trying to sound annoyed but failing miserably.

"And you're mine,"

He replied, his voice a low promise.

The atmosphere in the suite was heavy with unspoken emotions. Vidyuth held Meera close, his vulnerability seeping through the cracks of his otherwise impenetrable armor. She had always been his greatest weakness, the one person who could strip him of his bravado with just a look.

"I can't keep doing this, Wifie"

He murmured, his voice raw.

"I can't keep pretending I don't need you."

Meera stiffened in his arms. Her heart clenched, but she forced herself to remain composed. She turned to face him, her eyes searching his in the dim light. For a moment, she saw the Vidyuth she had once fallen for the man beneath the ruthless king. But she reminded herself of the pain, the betrayals, the tangled web of their past.

"Vidyuth,"

She said softly but firmly,

"You can't enter my life whenever And I can't be the Queen"

His eyes darkened, a storm brewing within them.

"I know I've made mistakes terrible mistakes. But I've spent every day of these two years regretting them, Meera. I've been empty without you. I don't care about power or revenge anymore. All I want is you."

Tears threatened to spill from her eyes, but she turned her face away.

"Wanting isn't enough, Vidyuth""

He reached for her hand, his grip trembling.

"I'm not asking you to forget. I'm asking you to give me a chance to make things right. I'll do anything, Meera. Just tell me what to do."

Her resolve wavered, but she shook her head.

"You can't fix this, Vidyuth. Some wounds don't heal. I've built a life for myself, away from the chaos, away from you. I won't go back."

"Meera,"

He whispered, his voice breaking.

"I'm,.... Pleaseee"

The sight of him so vulnerable, so unlike the powerful king she once knew was almost too much to bear. But she couldn't let herself fall into the same trap. Not again.

She pulled her hand away gently but decisively.

"You need to let me go, Vidyuth. For both our sakes."

He stared at her, pain etched into every line of his face.

"I can't,"

He said simply, his voice barely audible, But she had already turned away, her tears finally falling as she whispered,

"You have to."

The room was cloaked in darkness, but the tension between Meera and Vidyuth burned brightly, an invisible thread pulling them together even as her resolve tried to keep them apart.

Vidyuth's hands cupped her face gently, his thumbs brushing away the tears she hadn't realized were falling. His touch was tender, but the weight of their past lingered like a shadow over them.

"Meera,"

He whispered, his voice cracking.

"Why do you keep fighting this? Fighting us?"

She closed her eyes, his words slicing through her defenses. She hated how her body betrayed her, leaning into his warmth despite every warning her mind screamed at her.

"Love isn't enough, Vidyuth"

She whispered, her voice trembling.

"It can be"

e said, his tone desperate. His hands slid to her waist, pulling her closer until their breaths mingled.

"It has to be. You're all I have left, Meera. Without you, there's nothing."

Her heart twisted at the vulnerability in his voice, a side of him she had rarely seen. He was a man who had conquered empires, but here, in this moment, he was utterly bare before her.

"You don't understand,"

She said, shaking her head as tears streamed down her cheeks.

"Every time I think of us, I realised we don't have future"

His grip on her tightened, his forehead resting against hers.

"I'm not that man anymore"

He murmured.

"I've lost too much to be that man. Losing you destroyed me, Meera. I've lived every day of these two years in regret. Please... just give me one chance to prove I can be better."

Her lips quivered as she struggled to hold onto her resolve. But his words, his closeness, the way he looked at her as if she were his salvation it was all too much. Her body trembled as he pressed a soft kiss to her forehead, then her cheek, his lips trailing down to the corner of her mouth.

"Vidyuth..."

She said, her voice barely audible, a warning and a plea wrapped into one.

"I need you,"

He murmured against her lips before capturing them in a kiss that was both desperate and tender. It was a kiss filled with pain, longing, and the love that still burned between them, no matter how much she tried to deny it. For a moment, she let herself sink into it, her hands gripping his shirt as if he were her lifeline. But then the memories of the past came rushing back, and she pushed him away, her breathing ragged.

"No,"

She said firmly,  even as her heart screamed for her to stay.

"I can't do this, Vidyuth. You don't get to waltz back into my life and break me all over again."

He stared at her, his eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"I would never hurt you again, Meera. Please... don't push me away."

But her walls were back up, stronger this time.

"It's over, Vidyuth. You need to accept that."

She turned away, her shoulders shaking as she fought the sobs threatening to escape. Vidyuth stood there, his heart shattering as he watched the woman he loved slip further out of his reach, knowing he might never get her back.

Meera stood by the window, her arms wrapped around herself as if trying to shield her heart from the storm raging within. The city lights flickered outside, but her focus was on the man standing in the middle of her suite, his eyes filled with pain and desperation. Vidyuth had never looked so vulnerable, so utterly defeated.

"Vidyuth,"

She began, her voice low but steady,

"this has to stop. You can't keep coming back into my life and turning everything upside down. I can't do this anymore."

He took a hesitant step toward her, his hands clenched at his sides.

"Meera, please. I know I've made mistakes, but you can't just walk away from what we have. You can't pretend you don't feel it too."

She turned to face him, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"I do feel it,"

She admitted, her voice breaking.

"We're poison to each other. No matter how much we love, we only end up hurting one another."

He flinched as if her words had physically struck him.

"I can change. I have changed. Just give me a chance, Meera. Let me prove to you that we can be different this time."

She shook her head, stepping back as he reached for her.

"It's too late, Vidyuth. I won't let myself fall into the same cycle. I deserve peace, and you... you need to let me go."

His voice cracked as he whispered,

"You're leaving me again?"

She swallowed the lump in her throat, willing herself to stay strong.

"I'm going back in fifteen days. This us it's over. You have to accept that."

"No,"

He said firmly, his desperation bleeding into anger.

"I won't let you walk away from me again, Meera. Not like this not again"

Her tears finally spilled over, but she held her ground.

"You don't have a choice, Vidyuth. I'm asking you to leave. Tonight. And this time... don't come back."

He stared at her, his face a mixture of heartbreak and disbelief. The silence between them was deafening, the weight of her words sinking in. After what felt like an eternity, he exhaled shakily and nodded, his jaw clenched.

She closed her eyes, unable to bear the intensity of his gaze. When she opened them again,

"Vidyuth li-"

She started, but her words were cut off as his lips crashed against hers.

The kiss was fierce, almost punishing, filled with raw pain and desperation. His hands cupped her face, holding her in place as if letting go would mean losing her forever.

"Don't,"

He whispered against her lips, his voice broken, his breath ragged.

"Don't leave me, Meera. I can't... I can't live without you."

She tried to push him away, her hands pressing against his chest, but his grip on her only tightened.

'Vidyuth, stop,'

She wanted to say But even as she said it, her resolve was crumbling. The intensity of his emotions, the vulnerability in his touch, was overwhelming.

"You don't understand,"

He said, his voice cracking as he pulled back just enough to look into her eyes. His forehead rested against hers, his fingers brushing away the tears streaming down her cheeks.

"You're the only thing that keeps me sane, Meera. Without you, I'm nothing. You can hate me, yell at me, but don't... don't leave me. I'm begging you."

Her heart twisted painfully at the sight of him, the once-mighty king reduced to a man clinging to the only thing that ever mattered to him. She hated how her body betrayed her, how her tears mixed with his, how her heart raced when he looked at her like she was his entire world.

"Vidyuth,"

She whispered, her voice fragile.

"We can't keep doing this. We destroy each other."

"No,"

He said fiercely, his thumb tracing her jawline as if memorizing every inch of her.

"We destroy each other when we're apart. You think going back  will make you forget? It won't. You'll feel as empty as I do. You'll miss me just like I miss you."

Her chest heaved as she fought the emotions threatening to drown her.

"I don't want to feel this pain anymore,"

She confessed, her voice breaking.

"I can't keep loving someone who only knows how to hurt me."

His lips hovered over hers, his eyes dark and stormy.

"Then let me love you the right way, Meera. Let me fix what I broke. I'll spend my whole life making it up to you if that's what it takes."

For a moment, time stood still. His words hung between them, raw and heavy with meaning. She could feel his heartbeat against her palm, his breath warm against her skin.

But then, with a strength she didn't know she had, she pulled away.

"Please you are making it difficult, I want to let you go I know I know I can't stop my feelings, I know I can't stop my heart beating for you, even after getting hurt by you my heart still wants you I hate it, I hate you for making feel vulnerable I want to forgive you and live happily with but I can't I don't want to what if! But what I didn't realize then was that no matter how far I went, no matter how much time passed, my heart... it never stopped beating your name. And even when I tried to build a life without you, even when I told myself I didn't care anymore, deep down, I was just fooling myself, pretending. The truth is, Vidyuth, I never stopped loving you. I never stopped being yours, even though I was so terrified of it. Terrified of what you might think, terrified of what it would mean for us. I thought I was running away from the past, from the pain, but all I did was run straight back to it, to you. I don't expect anything from you, not after everything that's happened, but I had to say it, I had to let it out. I... I love you. I..... always... have."
