Camille
"Bitch no." Rosa says. I nod shamefully, "Yes."
"No." Mitchie says again. I nod, "Yes."
"No!" They both yell out, earning us some looks from nearby customers.
Josiah had set up for me to go out to meet up with my friends at a restaurant. This although included a standby nurse and 4 bodyguards, two inside and two outside.
"I can't believe it was him all this time." Rosa says, "You my friend, are wild."
Mitchie nods in agreement, "I could never date a crime boss."
"I would definitely consider it if he looked like that." Rosa says with a cheeky grin.
"Well we're not exactly dating, just kind of fooling around." I shrug.
"You're having sex with him?!" Rosa exclaims, once again earning disapproving looks from fellow customers.
"Will you keep your voice down? No I'm not having sex with him, we're just kind of intimate."
"Have you seen his dick?" Rosa asks. I begin blushing, "No! Jesus Christ Rosa."
"So have you broken up with Tyler yet?" Mitchie asks. I shake my head, "That's what I'm doing today after lunch with you guys."
"Yikes, good luck with that." Mitchie says looking away. "What do you mean?" Rosa gives her a "You better not tell her." look. "Guys what's going on?"
Mitchie sighs, "Tyler's been planning a welcome home party for you." My heart shatters, "What?"
Rosa nods, "Yeah but don't let that stop you, it's better to just end it with him. Act like you don't know about the party. Thanks a lot Mitchie." Mitchie shrugs, "I'm sorry."
I just nod, "This might be harder than I thought." Rosa shakes her head, "No you need to break up with that boy now. Do not let what we just said change that, you'll only be hurting him if you stay with him." I nod knowing she's right, "I will don't worry."
My phone starts beeping letting me know I have 10 minutes till my date with Tyler. "That's my cue guys I've got to go. I'll see you guys soon." We all stand up and the give me hugs. "Love you Cam, good luck be safe." Rosa says.
"And I'm really sorry about telling you that." I nod, "Its okay no biggie." I give them both another hug before heading outside toward the car one of my bodyguards was in. Another one sat in the passenger seat and two more got into the other car behind us with the nurse.
I arrive at the next restaurant and wait at a table for Tyler. He shows up soon after with a wide smile on his face. "I've missed you so much." He says giving me a big hug. I give him a small smile while hugging him back. "How are you?" He asks as we take our seats.
I decide to just rip off the bandaid, "We need to break up." He pauses, "Wait what?"
I sigh and run a hand through my hair, "We need to break up Tyler, I've drifted too far away from you."
He sighs, "I felt like this was coming." I nod, "I'm really sorry Tyler."
"It's okay, I mean we could still be friends right?" He asks. I shake my head, "If you still want to be friends after finding out that I cheated on you then yes."
"You cheated?" He asks. I nod as the tears begin to brim my eyes. "Was it the same guy as last time?" I nod again before letting a tear run down my cheek. "You don't have to cry Camille."
"I'm so sorry." He shakes his head, "Im sorry I wasn't enough for you."
"No of course you were enough, you were a great boyfriend." I hand him a box, "This is all the jewelry you ever gave me. I figured you'd want it back." He shakes his head before sliding the box back toward me. "I want you to keep it, at least the necklace. I want us to still be friends."
I look up at him, "Really? Even after I cheated on you?" He nods.
"But why?"
"Because you're a great person Camille, and if we can't be together like that then I still want to have you as a friend."
"You're too good of a person, you know that?" I tell him. He nods, "You have no idea."
After Tyler and I finished our meal we said good bye and headed our separate ways. It had only been a couple days since I had revealed my feelings to Josiah that I hardly knew I had and things had been very different.
Josiah insisted I sleep in his bed and if I refused he'd just come sleep in mine. He was nicer too, a lot more gentle, and way touchier.
I entered the house as the bodyguards returned to their positions outside. "How was it?" Josiah asks as I walk into the kitchen. "It was fine, kind of weird."
"Why?" I shrug, "Tyler was completely calm about it, he even still wants to be friends." He stops cutting the carrot in front of him and turns to me. "Why?"
I shrug again, "He said I was a great person and he didn't want to lose me as a friend."
"He's lying." He says as he continues cutting carrots. I frown, "Why do you think that?"
"No normal man still wants to be friends with his cheating girlfriend." He quickly looked up at me after realizing what he said. I put down my purse and turn toward the stairs. "Camille wait."
"What happened to not being an insensitive jerk?" I ask as I storm up the stairs, he follows behind me and gets in front of my door before I can. "Look I know I'm sorry, but it's the truth! Would you still want to be friends with him if you found out he was cheating?" I look away, "No."
"Exactly, it just makes me suspicious of him. I didn't mean to make you feel bad." I sigh, "Whatever I just want to go take a shower." He nods, "Can I have a kiss first so I know you're not still mad at me?"
I smile and nod my head before he leans down to kiss me. The kiss was short sweet and simple, "I'll be right out." I tell him before entering my room.
After my short shower, I changed into some pajama pants and a tank top before heading back downstairs. "Are you making dinner?" I ask as I enter the kitchen. He nods, "I didn't know you could cook."
He shrugs, "There's a lot of things you don't know about me."
"Well that's because you barely tell me anything."
"Well what do you want to know?" He asks. I sit on the bar stool in front of him, "Where are you from?"
"New Orleans."
"When did you come here?" I ask.
He adds something to the pot before coming back to me, "When I was 19 for college."
"What college did you go to?"
"Princeton University." I gasp, "You went to Princeton?"
He looks at me with a raised eyebrow, "Why do you sound so surprised?"
"I don't know, it just wasn't expected. Why are you doing this when you have a degree from Princeton?"
"Doing what Camille?" He stops what he's doing and faces me. "You know, your whole mafia business thing."
"It's a business, my degree is still being put to use."
"What made you start all of this?" I ask curiously.
"I think that's enough questions for tonight." I frown, "But I barely asked you anything."
"You've asked enough." He turns around and pours the vegetables into the pot on the stove. I pout, "But I still barely know anything about you."
"You know enough now."
I sigh, "Hardly, I'm going to watch tv or something." He doesn't respond and I enter the living room to watch some tv. After a full episode of Drake and Josh, I got back into the kitchen to eat dinner with Josiah.
He was already seated at the dinner table eating his meal, "You started without me." He shrugs and I frown at him before taking a seat across from him.
He didn't speak throughout the whole meal and neither did I. "Did I do something?" I ask. He shakes his head and continues eating. "Then whats up with you?"
"Nothing's up, what makes you say that?"
"You're ignoring me again."
He sighs, "Just because I didn't call you to dinner doesn't mean I'm ignoring you."
"Then what does it mean?"
"I don't need to call you down every time dinner is ready."
"Well since you knew I was in the living room waiting for it to be ready then you kind of do." I snap back. He sighs again before standing up, "Camille I'm not in the mood for this."
I stand up and follow his as he walks out of the dining room. "Josiah what's wrong?" I ask when I finally catch up to him. "Nothing, fuck." I take a seat next to him on the bed. "What's wrong?" I ask in a soft voice.
He still doesn't answer and looks in the opposite direction of me. I gently move his chin so he's facing me, "Josiah." We stare at each other for a moment before he pulls away. "We're not together Camille, fuck off." He says harshly as he moves my hand and walks out of the room.
I just stare at him as he walks out. I knew I shouldn't follow him since it was obvious I wasn't wanted. But it just didn't make sense. The sudden mood change and behavior, but what really stuck to me was what he said. Of course we're not together, I was stupid to think he was maybe developing feelings for me too. He's just been using me, I've been his little play toy. That's why he won't tell me anything about him and all we do is make out, because that's all he wants from me.
I felt stupid now, really stupid. To even think he might have the smallest amount of feelings for me. Stupid Camille, you lost a good boyfriend for a guy who won't even tell you about himself. I sigh before heading back down stairs to clear the table. I didn't know where Josiah had gone but I didn't really care at the moment.
I got ready for bed and slept in my room, Josiah didn't come to sleep with me like usual so it was a lonely night. I cried a little before falling asleep, letting my stupid tears fall because of a stupid boy on his stupid pillow in his stupid house.
-
The next morning while Josiah was in his office I left Josiah a note on the kitchen counter explaining to him that I was leaving. I packed up my things and the security guards surprisingly let me out. Josiah's driver dropped me back at my apartment where I was greeted with big hugs by the girls.
"Why are you back so early? I thought you still had a couple of weeks till you get this thing off." Mitchie asks. "Did things not go as planned with your sugar daddy?" I gave them a small smile, "I just wanted to come home that's all."
Rosa frowns, "Oh no baby what happened?"
"Nothing happened, I'm just stupid." I begin laughing, "I actually thought he was starting to like me back or something. You know with the way he was acting and shit, all kissy and caring." I laugh again, "Silly me though right? Falling for it and falling for him."
Rosa frowns, "That asshole." I nod and lay my head on her shoulder. "You don't deserve that."
I shake my head, "No I do deserve it. This is what I get for cheating on Tyler." Mitchie sighs, "You need to stop bringing yourself down about that."
"Why? I deserve to feel bad."
"What I think you need is some ice cream and some girl time." Rosa says with a smile. I shake my head, "No, I don't want to be sad about this. I just wanna forget about him. How about we go out and get wasted?"
The girls both stare at me in shock, "I never thought I'd ever hear you say that." Mitchie says. "What? I just want to forget you know? And just have a good time."
"Alright so Vixens?" I shake my head, "No he owns it and I don't want to see him."
"He owns it?! Jesus Christ I knew he was rich but I didn't think he owned anything like that."
"How about that new club downtown?" I ask. "Alright sure." The girls agree.
When 10 pm finally arrived the girls and I were headed to the club downtown. We ordered an uber so none of us would have to drive and we could all have a good time.
The club was already packed and it was still the early hours of the night. The bouncer let us in no questions asked and we started the night off with shots. "Three, two, one!" We counted down as we took our 5th round. "And can I get a shot of tequila." I ask the bartender with a flirtatious smile.
"Coming right up gorgeous." He winks as he pours me a shot glass and passes it to me. I gulp it down and the girls cheer. I feel a tap on my shoulder and turn around to face a tall handsome man. "Ooh you're cute." I giggle as I face him. "I couldn't help but wonder why a beautiful girl was drinking at the bar alone."
"I'm not alone, my friends are right here." I say pointing next to me but the seats are empty. Wow so I'm either really fucked up or they just left. The guy laughs, "May I join you?" I shrug, "At your risk."
He takes a seat next to me. "So what is a pretty girl like you doing here alone?" He asks. "I'm here with my friends, who are somewhere out there." I say pointing toward the dance floor. "May I ask your name?" He asks.
"Camille." He smiles, "I'm Logan."
"That's a nice name."
"Not as nice as Camille, want to dance?" He asks. I nod eagerly as he leads me to the dance floor. We begin dancing together face to face before I turn my back and start grinding on him to the music. My hips swaying to the rhythm as his hands snake around my waist.
"Camille." A familiar voice says angrily.
Yikes.
