Every time Madam Ji saw Chuxia’s face, she would be furious.

The Ji family had been played by a shameless woman!

Chuxia was not discouraged. With a strong heart, she said, “I don’t care if all of you don’t accept me and hate me. Liunian loves me and will only love me in his entire life!”

“What happened?” A man walked out from the crowd of chaos.

The man was in his fifties. He was holding a walking stick and looked slightly haggard.

After seeing him, everyone fell into silence. No one interrupted.

Madam Xu reported, “Chuxia is here. She pushed Zhiyin into the water earlier. Look what your daughter has done?”

The man who came was Chuxia’s father, Xu Zhiyin’s eldest uncle.

Xu Pingshu looked at his daughter. When Chuxia saw her father, she was not so aggressive. She kept the arrogance which she had just now and called, “Father.”

“You did all this?” Xu Pingshu glared at Chuxia.

Chuxia explained, “I was just angry…”

Before she could finish talking, Xu Pingshu slapped Chuxia on the cheek.

Chuyang stopped his father immediately. “Father, don’t hit my sister.”

Xu Pingshu roared angrily, “Why are you here? Are you here to embarrass yourself? When I asked you to marry Ji Liunian in the past, you were reluctant. Now that he’s married, you come and pester him? How could I have a daughter like you? Are you happy when you embarrass me?”

Xu Pingshu had his own company in the past and his family and the Ji family were friends for generations. Their relationship had always been good. Ji Liunian smiled and thought she was easily satisfied, “Wasn’t I nice to you in the past?”

Ji Liunian smiled and continued drying her hair. When he saw Xu Zhiyin not as angry as before, he was surprised. “You don’t hate me anymore just because I’m nice to you now?”

Xu Zhiyin stared at her own fingers. The tip of her finger was touching her newly changed dress. “I always thought you made Chuxia pregnant. I was sad and disappointed in you…”

That was why she said some extreme words to him.

She even thought of giving up on their relationship completely.

Ji Liunian froze and explained, “Chuxia’s baby isn’t mine. When she returned, she was pregnant. When I saw her, she was pitiful and I couldn’t leave her alone!”

Moreover, he had always thought Chuxia was his true love whom he would never forget. He had gotten used to loving her and thought he still loved her. That was why he neglected his relationship with Xu Zhiyin which he didn’t realize was slowly evolving.

Xu Zhiyin nodded, “I know, you’ve always been nice to her. Even if you like her, I never said anything.”

She understood that love was not something that could easily be put down.

“Thank you for understanding.” When he heard her say all this, Ji Liunian smiled. “You’re good and I only realize it now.”

Xu Zhiyin stared at him. He said she was good, was he praising her?

She had gotten other people’s praise too but his praise brought her to cloud nine.

She was like a child while Ji Liunian was like a candy she wanted most which nothing could replace.

Staring at Ji Liunian for a while, Xu Zhiyin realized her reaction was dumb and so lowered her head guiltily.

Ji Liunian looked at her bashfulness which she couldn’t hide. He lowered his head and place a light, gentle kiss on her head. “Zhiyin.”

Xu Zhiyin could not see Ji Liunian’s face but could feel she was brought to his embrace. This gave her a feeling of security and ease.

She clenched her fist nervously but did not reply. She was afraid when she opened her eyes, she would wake up from this dream.
