Chapter : 23 - Behpanah Mohabbat
Uns Ki Mohabbat : Heartstrings
"Why should I come?" he asked.
"Kyunki mujhe tumhe dekhna hai bhegairat insaan." I finally said it.
"What?!" He was totally shocked now.
"Do I need to shout again and say now?" I said while glaring at him. And now I am pissed off by him. He's getting angry for no reason, and he's making me angry too, this person will drive me crazy.
"Is there more drama to do, or are you coming?" I asked again while taking another tray of coffee, but he took it before me and walked past me.
"Now if someone wants to see me so badly, how can I refuse?" he said, turning towards me and giving a wink before turning again and walking towards our table.
"Bhegairat," I murmured, but unknowingly smiled at his words.
Kuch toh jaadu hai usme.
I placed the coffee cups, then he pulled the chair out for me to sit.
He's literally driving me crazy with his actions. If he keeps doing all this, then surely I will faint right here. My heart is absolutely not used to all these gentlemanly acts, his flirting, his overly cheesy lines, everything.
He sat, spreading himself on the front couch, keeping his right arm on the couch and crossing his legs. That's it, my heart will explode now.
He's literally shameless, how can even seeing him sitting burn my cheeks? To my dismay, I am wearing white and my cheeks are turning red by each second because of his continuous stares.
"Drink your coffee, Nader. It's hot, otherwise it will get cold," I said while pushing the cup towards him.
"The coffee is fine, but what about those cheeks which are turning red like tomatoes?" he asked, with a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
I would have surely killed him if Sahara an all wasn't here. I will see you later, Nader, I cursed him for making me weak in front of him.
I ignored his question and started drinking my coffee."
"So bhai, when are you emptying your pockets?" Sahara finally asked Aziz.
"Why should I empty them, what's the occasion?" Aziz asked her innocently.
"For Eidi, bhai, just give me my Eid money," she said, extending her hands now.
"Yeah bhai, I want my Eidi too," Rasha joined in with Sahara.
"First ask Tamir and Samir. Kya woh doh ghareeb, tum doh ghareeb ko eidi denge yaah nahi?" (Will those two poor souls give eidi to this tow poor souls or not?)"Aziz said, gesturing towards them and smiling.
Sahara and Rasha both glared at him, but Aziz was truly enjoying their annoyed expressions.
"Are we the poor ones or you, who can't even give one or two lakh for Eidi?" Rasha mocked him.
Only then Samir and Tamir choke on their coffee.
"One or two lakh? Eidi puch rahi hoon yah jaidaat?" Tamir asked Rasha.
"I would only ask you for 10,000 bhai, because I know that you are the poorest one here," Rasha said to her brother, both reassuring and insulting him at the same time.
"10,000? I only have a thousand rupees in my pocket," Tamir said, showing his empty wallet.
"Bhai," Rasha said, disappointed.
"This is all I have, take it if you want," Tamir said, placing two 500 rupee notes on the table.
"Open your other wallet," Rasha asked him again.
"What kind of force is this, Rasha?" Tamir exclaimed.
"Bhai, just quietly open your wallet," Sahara ordered him.
"Don't annoy me, we still have to fight with Samir and Aziz bahi. Give it respectfully, to me, Sahara, and Uns Appi," she said, standing up and extending her hands towards him.
"Shall I do Google Pay?" Tamir asked.
"Your not doing any Google Pay, Phone Pay. We need Cash and right now too," Rasha glared at her brother.
Finally giving up, Tamir took out 3 envelopes from his pocket.
"Here you go," he said, giving the envelope to Rasha.
"What's this, only 5 thousand? Where's the rest?" Rasha asked, counting the notes.
"The remaining five are for Sahara," Tamir said, giving another envelope to Sahara.
"And this is for you Uns," Tamir said, handing me another envelope.
I hesitated to take it. I didn't know him well and didn't know how to react. My heart was refusing to take it, but my idiotic mind told me to take it as it's just Eid money.
I took it and kept it beside me.
"How much is it?" Rasha asked.
"10,000," Tamir said, but I am shocked here, so many, and that too for me.
"You gave me and Sahara five thousand each, and ten thousand to Uns appi? So much discrimination, bhai ?" Rasha shouted at poor Tamir.
"She's older than both of you," Tamir said, giving a genuine smile to me.
"Uhh, chalo waise bhi, ab aap jaise ghareeb seh kya hein ladhna." Rasha said and moved to Samir now.
"Samir bhai, my brain is already messed up, give me my Eidi quietly," Rasha said, more like threatening him.
"Yeah Samir, it would be better if you give more Eidi," Sahara also ordered him.
They both are literally fighting with them, and I was just observing them all. They both know them very well; All three are Rasha's brother, so its right to ask them, and Sahara knows all three of them too. But me, except for Aziz, I don't know Samir and Tamir directly. How do I ask them?
Seeing Samir, I thought he would irritate them a lot to give Eidi, but he took out two envelopes and handed them out one by one.
"Samir"...
"Bhai..."
Both Rasha and Sahara exclaimed his name at the same time, utterly shocked by his act.
"I had intended to give Eid money to two poor people on Eid day, and then I saw you both, so here's your Eidi," he completed his sentence very calmly.
"Idiot," Sahara hit his shoulder, while Rasha encouraged her, saying, "Hit him from me too Sahara."
"Okay, okay, Sahara, I was just joking," Samir laughed while trying to stop Sahara from hitting him.
She stopped hitting him, and now Samir was massaging his shoulder due to pain.
"And bhabhi, this is for you," Samir handed me an envelope while still massaging his shoulder due to pain.
"Why me?" I asked.
"You are my bhabhi, that's why," he said.
"Samir," I called him, glaring at him to stop calling me bhabhi.
"How many did you give to your bhabhi?" Sahara taunted him.
"None of your business," Samir said, looking away from her.
"Bahut nautanki baaz hoon tum," Sahara murmured.
And now Mr. Nader was left. To be honest, I wanted to ask him, to fight with him too, for Eid money. But me being so formal with him is making it hard to do so.
Throughout this whole time, he didn't say anything, just enjoyed the whole show while stealing glances at me from time to time.
"Rasha, this is for you, and Sahara, this is for you," he said while placing two envelopes in front of them.
Then he just placed a card in front of me and sat again in the same mafia position.
"Ab yeh kya hai, Nader?" I asked, completely done with his behavior.
There was pure silence; he didn't say anything. We all looked at him, waiting to hear from him.
"Aapki Eidi," he said very calmly, with a small smile playing on his lips.
"What---"
"Sahara!" Samir shouted her name, interrupting me.
I looked towards them to see Samir's cream suit being drenched with water, and Sahara again covering her mouth.
I ignored both, as its usual for them.
"I don't want this," I said, looking at Aziz now.
"Toh kya chahiye?" He asked while drinking his coffee.
"Aap!" I said.
(You)
That's when I heard Samir shouting, "Sahara!" And "Aziz", too loudly gaining everyone's attention towards us.
Aziz spat his coffee on his left side, and Sahara spat her coffee in front of him.
And I don't know from where I got all this boldness; I still didn't break my eye contact from him. His expressions are continuously changing; he is surprised, then shocked.
"What? What did you say?" Aziz asked, not caring about Samir's shouts.
"Just what you heard," I said.
"What's happening here?" Tamir asked, being unaware of the whole situation.
"Guys, I'll tell you all on the way. Let's go now," Sahara said to everyone, taking them out. And Samir was still giving death glares to Aziz.
Aziz didn't even look at him as he was deeply staring at me, and nor did I dare to break his eye contact. I didn't care about everyone because right now, I don't see anyone else as important to me as him.
He raised his eyes as if asking if it's real. And I blinked my eyes in assurance.
After 5 minutes of staring, he spoke. "So... So"....
Aage bhi kuch kaho, Nader?" I asked, seeing him stuttering.
"You have made me speechless, Uns," he said.
"This suit looks good on you," I tried praising him. It's new for me to praise, especially him, because I just curse or fight with him, but never praised him in person.
"Mujhe in alfaazon ki zarurat nahi hai uns, kyunki mai aapki aankhen padh sakhta hoon.
Bas aapki aankhen kaafi hai, yeh bataane ke liye ki aap mujhe kitni shiddat seh dekti hai, Bina aapke kahe, aapki aankhen bahut kuch keh deti hai Uns." He completed.
