Chapter 4 Ema's Life
Intro
After a long break from the ugly case, our detectives are back, Ema and Joker... As you may know, Joker is in his office with Ema because she has nowhere to go. Since she is a popular target around the world with Joker. They both are famous for arresting a Generation X member and also for being alive to hear the cold killers' voice, Vision. The Chief made Ema a member of the police force since she can't return home nor school. Ema is taking it hard. She has to pass the academic grade as a police officer/Scientist so that she could be around Joker. She vows that she will pass the test rather than sitting and hiding and doing nothing. Joker is helping Ema to pass the test because he knows everything about it but the only thing he can't help her is if she needs scientific help.
The Story!
At Jokers office
Joker: Ema, have you studied for your test?
Ema: Yes I have! This test is easy!
Joker: Maybe on paper but not outside of the paper!
Ema: First of all I have to pass the writing test then the scientific test and later the field test and that is the final exam.
Joker: Miss bright eyes I hope you pass the test.
Ema: Me too because I don't want to be locked indoors my whole life
Joker: Naturally!
Office Phone: Beep! Beep
Joker: Hello, Mom!!
Chief: Hello, Son! It is time for Ema, to take her test! Go to room number 2 and makes sure she passes the test.
Joker: Alright! Don't worry she is confident than ever.
Chief: Good!
Ema: Who is it?
Joker: My, mother and she wants you to go to room number 2 and I will follow you there but I can't sit with you.
Ema: Finally after a long study I get to write the exam.
Joker: Well here is the room and good luck.
Ema: Thanks!
Teacher: Well class let's take the test together and remember do not cheat otherwise you going to be expelled and you may have to retake another year to pass it.
The Class: Yes, Teach!
Teach: Here is your paper, Ema and don't start before I say so!
Ema: Ok!
Teach: You have 90min and you may start now!
Ema: If a dog is up on the tree would you save it?
Ema: This is so easy! I will circle yes!
Ema: If two dogs bark at each other, would you tell both owners to calm the dogs? Please tell us why?
Ema: That one is super easy! I would tell the owners to calm the dogs because it is for the safety of the owners and the citizens because the dog fight might get bigger.
Ema: If you were a meter maid and you give the ticket to the guy that parked his car incorrectly, 600dollars but the owner of the car said he would pay 10% and later the whole sum when he comes home? How much will he pay, now and after?
Ema: The right answer is 60dollars at first but when he comes home he has to pay 600-60= 540dollars
Ema: It seems that the morals questions are only left and some gun questions?
Ema: If your partner were taken as a hostage and you see him tied to the chair. Would you rescue him first or arrest the criminals? Please verify your answer.
Ema: I would rescue my partner because he is more important to me than the case, we could catch them later.
Ema: What if your partner turned out to be a criminal, would you kill him or arrest him?
Ema: Damn! That's harsh, Mentally I want to kill him but he has to get judged by the law so I would arrest him.
Ema: Wow the gun questions are pretty hard luckily they are few.
Ema: Skips the questions.
Ema: Now this is the last question of the test.
Ema: In which division would you rather be?
Ema: This is easy! I want to be a scientist
Teach: Students put your pens down the time is over!!
The Class: Yes teach!
Ema: Knock, Knock!
Joker: Who is it?
Ema: It is me, Ema!
Joker: Come in!
Joker: How was the test?
Ema: The test was a little bit hard because I didn't like the gun questions.
Joke: That is natural since you have never used a gun nor seen it. But don't worry you will pass.
Ema: Thanks!
Joker: Get some rest! You gonna need it for the scientific test tomorrow?
Ema: Yeah I'm gonna sleep
Joker: See you soon because I have to talk to my mom.
Ema: OK!
Joker: Knack, Knack!
Chief: Come in!
Joker: What is it chief?
Chief: Your days of resting are over because you have a case!
Joker: Really! I'm excited because lets be honest I got bored!
Chief: To make myself clearer than before!!!! Do not invite, Ema to this case because this girl has been through a lot, thanks to you and that poor soul had to left everything behind. The reason I invited her is that I wanted you to have a partner or more likely experience it because when you are in the police force or a detective everybody needs a partner...
Joker: I prefer to be alone! I have more knowledge than anyone in the police force except the zero division since I haven't seen them so much and chief I agree with you on something and that is about, Ema.
Chief: Well I'm glad we agreed on something!
Joker; You can tell me more about the case tomorrow because I'm tired.
Chief: Go and get some rest!
The Next Day
Chief: Joker come in! Let's talk about the case! While Ema isn't around.
Joker: I hope I work alone on this case!
Chief: To make your day a lot brighter, yes you do! You going to fly to Japan, Tokyo. You have to guard the painting and make sure the painting isn't stolen. The company is called Mori Art Museum and they collect world-famous art! Apparently, the branch chief has been threatened and he/she wants to steal his collection. Your mission is to stop that and if possible send a report with fewer casualties it looks nicer on our records.
Chief: Prepare to fly tomorrow at midnight.
Joker: Yeah! The case seems so boring but I take it because I prefer to be alone.
Chief: I taught so too.
The Next Day!
Chief ( at the hall next to the classroom) : How is Ema doing?
Joker: I believe she is almost finished!
Ema: I'm finally done with the test! Now I can finally get some rest! The teacher told us she will inform us of the results of the test, today after Lunch.
Chief: That is great! How do you feel?
Ema: I feel great because the test was so easy!
Chief: What a relief!
Joker: What do you expect from miss now it all!
Ema: Hey! That is rude!
Joker: I don't care!
Chief: I have to tell you something Ema it might hurt you a bit but you have to stay strong!
Ema: About what!
Chief: Your parents and people close to you have sent us some mail maybe
you like to read them.
Ema: I must, chief.
Chief: Mail Informer bring all of Ema's mail to my office!
Mail Informer: Yes, Mam!
Chief: Joker you cannot be here when we talk, I hope you understand that.
Joker: Don't worry, Mom! I rather not have any ties with this girl after all.
Ema: Wow! Chief is your mother and hey don't be so rude?
Joker: Shit! my tongue slipped and if my dedication is correct miss knows a lot is going to give me hell. ( Worried tone)
Chief: Yes! I Ìam his adopted mother but you can call me; '' Diamond'' That is my code name because I'm the chief. I cannot tell my real name otherwise I will risk my family's safety and others near me. It is a strict code that we follow around here.
Ema: So basically everyone has a codename?
Ema: When can I get one?
Joker: Hahahhaahhahaah!
Chief: Stop laughing.
Ema: What is wrong?
Joker: They already know who you are dummy or did you forget that.
Ema: Damn!
Chief: Indeed!
Chief: Now, Ema let's go to my office and I can give you the emails that I have collected and you can sit anywhere you want in private!
Ema: Let's read my family's Mail!
Note: Dear, Ema! We all heard what happened to you and we are in tears everybody in this family. We heard you are in a coma and we cannot see you because the hospital doesn't allow us to visit you, they say it is for our safety. We pray that they catch the criminal who did this to you. I know we were against it that you joined the police force because you wanted to impress everybody in school and your teacher into getting a better grade. We are sometimes ruff with you because we care, sometimes it feels like you trying too much and you're hard on yourself sometimes it is good and sometimes it is bad. We as a family came up with the idea of writing the most important memories when you were little, here goes nothing!
Our most important memory was when you were a little kid just 6years old. When we adults and your grandparents wanted to drink coffee you wouldn't allow us because every time we did that you tossed all the mugs in the trashcan. Our second most precious memories of you were when you were 15years old and you told us you wanted to become a scientist to save people's lives that really touched us.
We hope that you will get better because we know your a strong girl and dedicated.

Ema: Crying!
Joker: Damn!!! It touched me seeing her like this! ( Outside the office)
Chief: I knew it! You really do care for this girl, don't you?
Joker: Nope! I feel sorry for her that's all.
Chief: You know mother's feelings never lie, you care for her because you have been through almost the same thing.
Joker: Maybe
Chief: I think I find you a good partner, finally!
Joker: We do not know it yet!
Chief: I know! Because I can see your tears.
Ema( Shaky hands: Let's read my friend's note.
Ema:
You are the most daring girl in our class it would be a tragedy if we lost you.

Ema: Typical friends so straightforward and they must have written the note at the university.
Ema: Crying!!! But I have to stay strong...
Chief: Joker doesn't go near her she needs some time for herself.
Joker: I know!
Near The Midnight
Chief: Joker here is your passport and ticket and also a magazine from Mori art Museum, I want you to study them so you don't go unacknowledged.
Joker: Yeah I know
Chief: Make sure! She isn't with you on the trip! ( Yelling)
Joker: Yes I know!
Chief: One Moment!
Joker: Yes what is it!
Chief: Ema passed the first exam and she got 80% Correct most of her failings were with guns & equipment. The scientific test she passed that to she scored 90% Correct! She is the best scientist in the force. It sure would be good to have her with us.
Joker: I never doubt this girl! I knew she would succeed because she is the curious type who never gives up.
Chief: Indeed and that is rare for you to give other people compliments and not insult them. You must really like her as a partner?
Joker: Shut UP!
Chief: Well be safe and if you need some backup call the Tokyo police they will gladly help you to catch the killer.
Joker: No need the case is pretty boring.
Chief: You never know!
Joker: That is true.
At the office: Ema is sleeping she must be exhausted this must be my chance to sneak out of here.
Joker: This time I feel like I want to take my car for a spin and not the cab.
Joker: Driving....
Joker: My very first case without, Ema what a relief. There is no one to question my dedication again. Damn, that brat gives me always headaches in every case I take her with.
Joker(reading): Welcome to United States Airline, please park the car on your left.
Joker: Parking the car.........
Joker: Opening the car trunk.......
Ema: Supriseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! and Hey I heard it all, you said about me and I must say I don't approve!
Joker: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Ema: Hell Yes!
Joker: I must go to the pharmacy and buy a migraine, this cannot be happening.
Ema: Yes! it can because I'm smart.
Joker: How did you know?
Ema: It is called a tracking device I planted it on your skin jacket because I knew something was wrong when the chief wanted to talk to you and not me.
Joker: They should have given you, 100 percent correct on the test and not, 90
Ema: You are absolutely correct and I'm still mad about it.
Joker: What will my mother say to this. . She will kill me and probably ground me from any case, thanks to you. I have to go back to my boring miserable life. ( Irritated tone)
Ema: No problem! Maybe you learned some lessons that your deduction is not so flawless after all.
Joker: Looking angry at, Ema... You know you are going to fail the field exam and you might fail everything else, you worked so hard for. So I suggest you return to this moment!
Ema: No worries I will fix everything! I told my teacher that the chief of the police told me to go on a special mission with you and that it would be my field exam. The hardest part was to convince your mother. So I just send her a mail telling her that the teacher allowed me to go with you on this special mission for the sake of the exam.
Joker: Unbelievably! Now I see, why my mom picked her as a partner.
At The Police HQ
Bodyguards: Let's just see if she is alright? I feel like she is too stiff when she sleeps.
Bodyguards: O No! This is just a dummy!!!
Bodyguards (radio): BZZZZ. Diamond! Answer! Diamond!!!! I repeat Ema is missing! There is a high chance she went with Joker...
Dimond( Chief) : Yeah I know I read the note, I repeat I know I read the note.
Chief: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
High Ranked officer: What's wrong, Diamond? Why are you yelling?
Chief, Diamond: I'm pissed off that Ema, stubborn as well like he is, they left together in some mission, lets pray that they will be safe. I also sent her the ticket so she could join Joker on his mission.
High Ranked Officer: Yes indeed! I will contact you if something happens to them, personally.
Chief: Thanks!
Joker: Now I can imagine my mother screaming and panicking in the office,
and it's all your fault.
Ema: No need! The case is simple.
Joker: Somehow I don't see it that way now because I must say you, attract danger.
Ema: Nah! That is your imagination!
Joker: I hope so!
Ema: Lets go to, Tokyo, we do not want to be late, we have to be there by morning.
Joker: Yeah! You are right.
Joker: Let's buy something to eat before we depart because I'm pretty hungry.
Ema: Me too
Joker: Grab the suitcase and let's buy something to eat!
Ema: Why me it is not fair!
Joker: You wanted it! So it is your fault that you arrived so you must carry all my bags until I'm satisfied.
Ema: Fine! Only this once!
