Chapter 101
Falling for My Contractual Wife
Louise smiled and held Graceâs hand. âNo, itâs very simple. Just put them in all the rooms and cabinets.
You are the person trust the most in this house. Grace, why are your hands so cold?â
Graceâs heart trembled as Louise held her hand. Grace pulled her hand away. âIâm just a little cold.â
Louise said with concern, âThen put on more clothes.â
Grace nodded. âMiss Adkins, how about I find someone to go with me? I wouldnât know what to do on my own.â
âThe other maids have things to do. Alright, go quickly! Iâll arrange a driver for you.â
Louise smiled and pushed her out of the door, Grace pursed her lips. If I continue to reject Louiseâs request, Louise might run to Brian and lie to him.
There are only ten or so days left. Itâs not worth it if Brian breaks the contract because of this, Grace thought.
In the end, Grace still got into the car, feeling cold all over.
An ominous feeling rose in her heart. She had a feeling that Louise must have done this on purpose.
Grace looked at the driver. âSir, I wonât be long. Can you wait for me downstairs?â
The driver said apologetically, âIâm sorry. Miss Adkins has plans later. I have to go back and drive Miss Adkins elsewhere.â
Grace frowned. She was even more certain that Louise was up to something.
At that moment, she saw a familiar black car behind her.
âThat car has been following me!â Grace thought.
Alarm bells rang in Graceâs head. She clenched her fists and forced herself to calm down. In her mind, she quickly filtered out a list of people who could help her.
She took out her phone and scrolled through her contact list. Finally, she called Nancy.
âHello? Nancy, itâs me, Grace.â
Nancy was at work. As she worked, Nancy asked, âGrace, whatâs wrong? Iâm at work now.â
âNancy, Iâm currently at 101 Sixth Street, Tinley Hills. Didnât you say that you wanted to eat together in the alley outside Jacksonville Supermarket last time? Come and find me here later.â
Puzzled, Nancy asked, âIn the alley? Eating?â
Graceâs expression was calm. âThatâs right. Have you forgotten? It was back when I went to buy something for you, didnât I not return for a long time? You were worried that something happened to me. In the end, didnât you say you would treat me to a meal?â
She tried her best to hint at Nancy, who finally realized that something was wrong.
Nancy lowered her voice and asked softly, âGrace, is it Inconvenient for you to speak now?â
âYes, thatâs right.â Grace curled her fingers. The car behind her kept following her. She was panicking.
âSir, please drive slower. I feel a little unwell. Iâm carsick.â She had to stall for time.
Nancyâs v voice sounded through the phone. âFrom now on, Iâll ask and youâll answer. Did you meet the person who robbed you in the alley?â
âThatâs right! You finally remembered!â
âAlright, 101 Sixth Street in Tinley Hills. Iâll be right there. Do you need me to call the police?â
âNo, no. Iâm not very sure either. Anyway, just come over. Weâll decide which restaurant to go to when we get there.â
Nancy had already picked up her car keys and rushed out of the company. âGrace is pregnant and in great danger right now! Nancy thought.
After hanging up, Graceâs palms were covered in cold sweat. It wouldnât be long before Nancy came here from the Francis Group.
The car slowly drove into Tinley Hills. As it was currently undergoing transference of ownership, the security guards didnât check the cars entering and exiting. Hence, the car behind them followed them in.
