Chapter 106
Falling for My Contractual Wife
Brian didnât even look at Grace as he strode towards the elevator.
The exclusive elevator that Brian took quickly disappeared in the hallway.
Nancy silently retracted her gaze and looked at Grace. âDid you guys quarrel?â
Grace pursed her lips and took a deep breath. She smiled at Nancy. âNot really Iâm not qualified to quarrel with him.â
Nancy shook her head helplessly. She whispered into Graceâs ear, âAre you blind? Mr. Francis was so anxious when he saw you covered in injuries that day. Canât you see that? Mr. Francis wonât waste his emotions on unimportant people.â
Grace chuckled. She understood what Nancy meant, but no one knew better than her the difference in the way he acted towards her and Louise.
âLouise is the only one Brian has in his heart, Grace thought.
Nancy drove in the direction of the Francis estate.
Grace looked at the scenery outside the window and her heart sank. She did not know what she was going to face next. âLouise did not succeed this time. What other tricks will she think of to get rid of me?â Grace thought.
The car stopped in front of the Francis estate. Nancy held Graceâs hand and said, âGrace, actually, you can tell me if you need anything. As long as I can help, I will definitely help you. If I canâtâ¦then use it as a way of unloading your problems.â
âNancy, the less you know about me and Brian, the better.â
Nancy looked at her worriedly. âIf anything happens, you must call me.â
Grace leaned over and hugged her. âDonât worry. Iâll be free in half a month. Iâll treat you to a meal then.
Iâll remember the meal I owe you today.â
dat Grace waved at Nancy with a smile and got out of the car. Nancy watched her go in before turning around and leaving.
Grace walked through the door, and the smile on her face gradually disappeared.
Brian was not in the living room. Louise was standing in front of the fish tank, feeding the fish. When she saw Grace return, she took off her gloves and looked at Grace. âYouâre back.â
Looking at Louiseâs impeccable smile, Grace was very impressed. âNo matter when it is, Louise always disguises herself almost perfectly, Grace thought.
Grace blinked and lowered her eyes. She calmed herself down and hid the emotions in her eyes.
âMiss Adkins, something cropped up at home today, so I came back a little late.â
Louise smiled and said, âItâs fine. Did you open the window?â
Grace lowered her eyes. When she heard Louiseâs words, Grace looked up at her. Louiseâs eyes were very clear, and her smile was slightly curved. âEven as she is probing me out, she still disguises herself so perfectly,â Grace thought.
âThe windows are locked. Once I was inside, I locked all the doors and windows. Iâve heard that when removing formalin, itâs better for the doors and windows to be locked.â
Louiseâs eyes narrowed slightly. She stared at Graceâs face for a few seconds and realized that there was no abnormality in Graceâs expression.
âHadnât she locked the doors and windows because she realized she was being followed?â Louise thought.
Grace glanced upstairs and said indifferently, âMiss Adkins, Mr. Brian is coming down. You guys chat first. Iâm going back to my room.â
Grace closed the door and exhaled heavily.
Not long after, her phone rang. Grace looked at it and frowned slightly.
It was her mother.
Graceâs mother only called her for one reason, money.
Grace picked up the phone and called out, âMom.â
âGrace, have you eaten?â Daisyâs voice had a hint of flattery.
âI did.â It was only when Daisy wanted money that she would show a token concern or two.
