Chapter 124
Falling for My Contractual Wife
Grace was discharged.
Justin brought her to his apartment, the same house that Grace had lived in before.
He helped Grace tidy up the room and said to her, âYou donât have to worry about anything as you stay here. Call me if need anything.â
Grace was looking down at her phone. When she heard his words, she locked her phone screen and looked up at him.
âThank you, Justin.â
Following her voice, Justinâs phone rang with the sound of a notification.
Justin took out his phone and looked at it. He frowned. âGrace, what are you doing?â
The phone screen indicated that Grace had transferred money to him.
Grace smiled and said. âRent.â
Justinâs expression changed slightly. âGrace, what do you take me for?â
Grace stopped smiling and looked at him seriously. Justin, I owe you a lot. I donât want to owe you anymore.â
âGrace, Iâve never felt that you owed me anything. I treat you as one of my own, so Iâm willing to pay for you!â
very Graceâs eyes darkened. âJustin, I understand your intentions, but please respect my choice. Iâm lucky to be able to have you as a friend, but I canât accept your help without any bottom line. If you donât accept the rent, I can only move out.â
When Justin heard her words, he panicked. âNo, no, no. Donât move out. Iâll take it.â
Grace was finally at ease.
Justinâs heart was heavy. Although Grace stayed, in Graceâs heart, she considered Justin an outsider.
Justin took a deep breath and looked at her beautiful face. âIt doesnât matter. We have a long time.
Weâll take it slow, Justin thought.
After Grace settled down, she went to the hospital to see Carson.
âAre you alright?â Grace asked hesitantly, looking at her younger brother.
Carson closed his eyes and said indifferently, âI wonât die yet.â
Grace lowered her eyes and said softly, âIâm sorry.â
Carson opened his eyes and looked at her. âI donât blame you. I heard from Dad that Mom went to Brian and messed things up.â
Grace did not know how to comfort Carson.
âCan you not put on such a bitter face all day long? You look like I donât have much time left. We havenât found a suitable bone marrow, so I canât treat it even if I have money.â
Grace felt terrible. This feeling of watching her family fall sick while being helpless was suffocating.
She looked up at the ceiling and forced back the moist liquid in her eyes. âIâm useless. Three years have been wasted.â
âYou donât have to worry. Although Iâm staying in the hospital, Iâm not idle either. Iâm writing a game. If nothing goes wrong, itâll come online in two months, so you donât have to worry about the medical fees.â
Graceâs eyes lit up. âReally?â
Carson raised his chin. There was an arrogance unique to that of a young man on his âOf course. Do you really think I play games every day for fun?â
Grace smiled through her tears. âThatâs good.â
young face.
Carson looked impatient. âAlright, alright. Donât stay here. Hurry up and leave, okay? Mom will be here soon. I donât want to see you guys arguing here.â
Grace smiled. âAlright, have a good rest. Iâll take my leave.â
Grace returned home, sorted out her résumé, and prepared to find a job. She planned to work as an online programmer from home.
