Chapter 179
Falling for My Contractual Wife
Nancyâs drowsy voice became much clearer. She asked, âGrace, why are you looking for me?â
âDid Brian fire you because of Ava?â
Nancy was silent for a while before saying, âI was careless. Iâm also partially responsible. I should have logged out first when Ava sent me away or doubleâchecked when I bought the plane ticket. If I had been more careful that day. she wouldnât have succeeded.â
âSo it was Ava who framed you!â Grace clenched her fists angrily.
Nancy smiled nonchalantly. âPerhaps my fate with the Francis Group has come to an end. Itâs alright.
You donât have to worry about me. I just want to rest for a while before finding another job.â
Nancy didnât want Grace to worry, so she changed the topic and said, âBy the way, I have recently been thinking about traveling. Do you want to go on a trip with me?â
âIâm in Silrow City, Brian asked me to come.â
Nancy paused. âIn other words, Ava is there as well?â
âYeah Nancy suddenly smiled and said, âIâll come and look for you in two days. Then, I will get to meet Ava.
Iâve already lost my job anyway. Why should I be afraid of her?â
After hanging up. Grace had mixed feelings.
To keep Ava by his side without issue, Brian even fired Nancy, an employee who had followed him for many years. He was no different from an incompetent ruler.
After Grace returned from making her call, Brian realized that her aura had become even colder.
Moreover, she was only acting cold toward him! She smiled warmly at everyone else, but when she faced him, she looked as though she wanted to cut him into pieces.
Brian could not figure out how he had provoked her again.
Grace slept very late last night and was woken up early this morning. She was dozing off on the chair.
She had just dozed off when the director woke her and asked her how the scene went.
Grace was in a daze. She forced herself to stay awake.
The more Crace thought about her overtime last night and the news she received this morning, the angrier she became.
When it was almost noon, she suddenly saw a familiar figure walking over from afar.
It was Justin!
The direction he came from was coincidentally facing the sunlight. The sunlight shone on his face, giving him a warm yellow halo and making him appear radiant.
With a smile, Grace walked over and asked, âWhy are you here?â
Justin scratched Graceâs nose as if no one was around. âDidnât I say that I would come and see you during my break?â
Grace suggested, âItâs a little hot in Silrow City. Letâs sit over there.â
âOkay.â
The two of them walked side by side. A young female celebrity smiled and teased, âMiss Sherman, is this your boyfriend? Heâs so handsome! Itâs a pity that he isnât in the entertainment industry. What does your boyfriend do?â
Grace felt awkward and wanted to explain her relationship with Justine, but the latter beat her to it.
âThank you. Iâm just a doctor. I look ordinary. Iâm just a weed in a place like the entertainment industry where stars gather.â
Justin was humble and polite. His demeanor was gentle and warm. Soon, he was chatting with the crew.
Brian looked at Justin and Grace coldly. He had a bitter look on his face as though he had just tasted a mouthful of coffee beans.
At this moment, a car slowly drove over. Justin announced, âEveryone, youâve worked hard. Iâve ordered lunch boxes for everyone. I hope they suit your tastes.â
Justin and the driver placed the food on the table. There was a wide selection of food that looked appetizing. They were worlds apart from the lunch boxes the crew usually ate.
