Chapter 36
Falling for My Contractual Wife
Ava sat in the yard watching a variety show while eating snacks, momentarily forgetting that she had asked Grace to wash her shoes.
By the time Ava remembered it, she had already finished watching an episode of the variety show.
Louise had gone back to her room to sleep. Ava was barefoot and had no shoes to wear. Ava shouted with impatience, âSomeone! Someone come!â
When a maid heard the shout, she immediately ran over. âMiss Adkins, what are your orders?â
âWhereâs my shoes? Whereâs that slut Grace washing my shoes?â Ava demanded.
The servant hurried off to find Grace. Grace walked over languidly. She showed Ava her shoes and put them by Avaâs feet.
Seeing her wet shoes, Ava glared at Grace in disbelief and jumped out of her chair angrily.
âYou slut! You did it on purpose, didnât you? You ruined my shoes! Youâre purposefully going against me!â
Grace asked, puzzled, âMiss Adkins, you were the one who said you wanted your shoes washed.
Arenât the shoes clean?â
âI told you to wipe the dirt from it! Who told you to wash it?â Ava shouted.
Grace looked at Ava calmly. âDid you? Miss Adkins, are you sure you said to wipe the shoes?â
âOf course, I told you to wipe the shoes!â said Ava.
the villa Grace nodded and said, âIn order to confirm that this is my fault, there are surveillance cameras in the villa, so Iâll ask Melvin to take a look at the surveillance camera.â
Avaâs eyes widened. âYou! Grace! You damn slut! Youâre just playing word games with me, arenât you?
Let me tell you, even if I was wrong today, it was you who got my shoes wet, so I donât have shoes to wear! This is your fault!â
Grace looked at her coldly. She said, âMiss Adkins, donât be in such a hurry. Iâll take a look at the surveillance.â
Avaâs face turned blue with rage. She jumped down and grabbed the ashtray on the table, lunged at Grace in two strides, grabbed Grace by her hair, and slammed the ashtray on Graceâs head.
Grace reacted quickly and tried to dodge, yet even as Grace nearly ripped her scalp, her movements only shifted her position slightly. The ashtray still hit Graceâs forehead.
Seeing this, the maids hurriedly stepped forward to grab Ava.
Graceâs head hurt. She raised her hand to touch her forehead. Her fingers were stained with a glaring red color.
Ava still seemed to be angry, yelling like a shrew and wanting to hit Grace.
Melvin hurried over when he heard the ruckus. Louise came down the stairs.

âWho allowed you to hit someone in my home?â
Before Ava could finish her sentence, she was interrupted by Brianâs somber voice.
Ava looked at Brianâs cold expression and sucked in a breath. ââ¦she was the one who talked back to me first. I just taught. her a lesson,â said Ava.
Louise stood silently, taking in Brianâs reactions.
âDoes he care so much about Grace?â Louise thought.
âEven if she talks back to you, you have no right to hit her!â Brian said.
