Chapter 40
Falling for My Contractual Wife
Brian grabbed Graceâs chin.
âYouâre offering to terminate the contract. What? Are you in love with him?â
âNo,â Grace said.
Brian hated her for acting like she didnât care about anything. She wasnât like this before. Why is she acting like this now?â Brian thought.
âIn that case, it doesnât matter what I do to him, right?â
Graceâs eyes flashed. She asked, âWhat do you want to do?â
The worry in Graceâs eyes further ignited Brianâs anger.
He unconsciously increased the force in his hand. âAnd you said you didnât care about him!â said Brian..
âBrian, if youâre mad, then take it out on me. Justin is innocent. He saved me so many times. If it werenât for him, I would have died a long time ago! Brian, donât hurt him! Grace pleaded.
The m more Grace spoke up for Justin, the more the nameless fire in Brianâs heart burned even bigger. Brian wanted nothing more than to strangle her to death at once.
âJustin? Very good! Youâre calling him on a firstâname basis now! Grace, Iâm telling you, Iâm not going to terminate the contract. This time, itâs you who didnât listen to me. What did I say last time? Thatâs exactly what I will do this time.â
At this moment, Grace felt that Brian was the devil incarnate. âWhy did I fall in love with such a man?â
Grace thought.
Grace bowed her head and pleaded humbly, âBrian, I beg you, you can tell me to do anything. I wonât have anything to do with him from now on. Forgive me this time, okay?â
Brian gritted his teeth. Sheâs begging me for the sake of another man, he thought.
Not hearing his answer, Grace continued, saying, âBelieve it or not, I didnât plan to go to him today. If you donât believe me, you can check my chat history. You can even check the surveillance cameras.â
Brian stared at her momentarily as if he was trying to see through her.
Graceâs eyelids were swollen from crying. Her face was pale as paper, and her lips were bloodless.
Brian felt something yanking on his heart. He looked away. He didnât say anything as he started the car.
In the silence of the car, the air became terrifyingly suffocating.
At At this moment, a shrill ring sounded in the car. Grace took out her phone to take a look. It was Justin calling.
Without even thinking about it, she hung up the call. Her actions caught Brianâs attention.
Brian glanced sideways and saw that Grace seemed to be planning to blacklist Justinâs number.
WWPP D 39% 20:16 Before she could set it up, Justinâs call came in again.
Grace realized that Brian was watching her.
After hesitating for two seconds, she picked up the phone.
It was quiet inside the car. Brian was just able to hear Justinâs voice.
âGrace, remember to come tomorrow to change the dressing. Iâll pick you up tomorrow. Youâ¦â
âDr. Vance,â Grace said, interrupting him indifferently, âwe donât need to contact each other in the future.
I wonât be going to Southside Hospital in the future. Thank you.â
After saying these words, she didnât wait for the other party to react before hanging up the phone. She finished setting up the blacklist that she hadnât finished setting up before.
Grace looked at him. âIs this good now?â
Brian didnât speak, but he drove the car at top speed.
He didnât know why he felt even more irritable after Grace did everything he asked.
Brian sent Grace back to the villa, left her at the door of the villa, and drove away.
Melvin opened the door for Grace and asked her about her injuries. Grace shook her head gently. âIâm fine.â
As soon as she entered the courtyard, she heard a sharp voice call out to her.
âGrace! Come over here!â
