Chapter 63
Falling for My Contractual Wife
When alone, Grace especially liked to let her mind empty out. Sometimes, she would sit on the balcony and think nothing for the entire afternoon. She would not even be able to realize how scorching the sun was that caused her sunburns.
Grace felt she could not be like that anymore.
The f following day, she went out and planned to visit Angle.
Angle happened to be at home. Seeing that Grace seemed to be in a better state, Angie smiled and invited her in.
âWhatâs wrong? What brings you here today?â
Grace had been wearing clothes with long sleeves for the past few days. When Grace rolled up her sleeves, Angieâs eyes widened in shock to see the bite marks on Graceâs arms.
âYouâ¦â
âItâs been a few days. Actually, I feel much better these two days. I didnât hurt myself, but Iâve spent a lot of time being in a daze recently.â
Angie asked her, âDo you live alone now?â
âYes, I just moved out.â
âHow about you go out for a travel? You know, spending some time in a different place. Try not to be alone. When youâre alone, read some books or do something youâre interested in.â
Grace thought about it and decided to travel to the surrounding cities. She believed Brian should allow it.
âI will.â
Before Grace left, Angle called to stop her. âBy the way, Justin came to look for you the day bere yesterday. He said that he couldnât get in touch with you.â
Grace bit her lip and said, âDr. Flores, please donât tell him I was here.â
Angieâs expression froze for a moment. Yet, she replied, âOkay.â
At night, Grace returned home and began to search for tourist attractions in the surrounding cities on her phone, planning her travel route.
The next day, Grace packed her suitcase and left the house.
When the security guard at the door saw her leave with her suitcase, he took out his phone and called.
âMiss Sherman went out with her suitcase. It looks like she wants to go on a long trip.â
Grace went to the bus stop to wait for the bus. Before the bus could arrive, Brianâs car suddenly stopped in front of her.
Grace asked in confusion, âWhy are you here?â
Brianâs face was gloomy. He got out of the car and threw her and her suitcase into the car. Wordless, he drove the car back to the neighborhood.
âBrian, what are you doing?â
He closed the door and pressed her against the wall. He grabbed her chin and questioned her in a low voice, âIsnât it enough that I I allowed you to stay here? Where are you going? Huh? Do you want to run away?â
Grace was in pain as she explained, âI just want to go travel and have some relaxed time. I didnât intend to run away.â
Brian narrowed his eyes dangerously at her. âIs that so?â
He loosened his grip, and Grace took the opportunity to break free. âEven if I want to run away, you can catch me. Besides, the contract has not expired yet. If I leave, who will give me 600 thousand dollars Only then did Brian realize he had been too anxious. He took a deep breath and asked, âWhere do you want to go?â
âAnywhere.â
Brian looked at her. âMust you go?â
Grace did not reply to him. From the sound of it, he probably would not agree.
Brian suddenly took out his phone and made a call. âNancy, go home and pack your luggage. Come to Southlake Peninsula⦠Yes, a business trip.â
After hanging up, he said, âNancy will accompany you. Youâre not safe when traveling alone.â
Grace did not expect him to agree. She said sincerely, âThank you.â
Nancy Patel was Brianâs personal secretary. She was not in charge of work, so it did not matter if she accompanied Grace.
Brian drove them to the rail station. âBe careful.â
