Chapter 66
Falling for My Contractual Wife
âI miss her. She cooks so well. Donât you miss her?â
Brian narrowed his eyes and suddenly tumed to her. âLouise, you donât have to bring me lunch. I donât want to see you so tired.â
âI just want to cook for you myself. It makes me feel happy that way.â
Brian held her fingers and said tenderly, âYour hands are not for housework. Just have fun and relax at home. I have a meeting in the afternoon and canât stay with you. Iâll get the driver to send you home, okay?â
Louiseâs heart skipped a beat when she heard Brianâs deep and gentle voice. No one could control themselves to hear Brian like that and could only listen to him obediently.
Louise walked out of the office and went to the washroom. She gazed at herself in the mirror and pulled open her collar. She pinched the skin on her collarbones and made two red marks. She rubbed her hair slightly loose before going downstairs.
Louise returned to the villa. Ava was sitting in the living room with her legs crossed, eating grapes.
When Ava saw Louise return, she chuckled. âOh, youâre back! Why didnât you make out with Brian for some more time?â
Her gloating face almost made Louise lose her temper. She wished to go up and tear Avaâs mouth apart!
Ava was an idiot! If Louise had not defended Ava before Brian, this idiot would have been chased out of the Francis family long ago!
But Ava still had some value, so Louise suppressed the anger in her heart and took a deep breath. She asked smilingly, âAva, were you fantasizing about your future brotherâinâlaw and me making out in the office?â
Avaâs face darkened. âWhat the hell! Brian doesnât want to make out with you at all!â
Louise asked in amusement, âAva, how did you know it? Youâve left already.â
As she spoke, she quietly tugged at her clothes, exposing the marks on her collarbones to Ava.
Avaâs face stiffened, but she pretended not to see the marks. She argued, seemingly lying to herself, âBrian is not the kind. of person who messes around in the office!â
âYouâre right. When heâs in bed, heâs completely different from when heâs in the office.â
Louise watched Avaâs face twisted in rage and embarrassment and finally felt relieved. She sat down beside Ava and deliberately revealed the marks on her collarbones Ava was too sore to eat any more fruits. She placed the fruit plate heavily on the end table, stood up, and went upstairs.
Louise glanced at Ava contemptuously. Dealing with a brainless fool like Ava was as easy as crushing an ant.
After Louise sat in the living room for a while, she glanced at Graceâs room. She thought of something and stood up to walk toward it. She turned the doorknob but found that the door was locked.
Louise considered it and called Melvin over.
Melvin soon stood respectfully in front of her. âMiss Adkins, what can I do for you?â
âGive me the key to this room.â
Melvin pecked at her awkwardly. âThis room? Miss Adkins, what are you looking for?â
Louise frowned. âMelvin, It seems like you didnât listen to a single word I said to you last time.â
âMiss Adkins, itâs not like that. Itâs just that after what happened to Grace last time, she was afraid that someone would enter her room again, so normallyâ¦â
Before he could finish, Louise interrupted him gloomily, âWhat do you mean? Are you saying Iâll put something in her room on purpose and accuse her of stealing?â
