Picnic date

I wore a flowy dress just like he asked, and when I went down the stairs, I saw him waiting for me again, with a picnic basket in his hand and his hair was messy, just like I like it.

"Aw," I smiled as I approached him and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "You look super cute"

He grinned, and for a second, I saw him blush.

Soon we arrived at his Hill and we laid the blanket down and placed the basket on it so it won't fly away by the tiny wind right before we sat down to secure it.

He began to get what he packed out of the basket; pancakes, Nutella and fruits.

"I have never had one of these," I admitted.

"What?" He gave me a surprised glare, "you never had pancakes?" He placed Nutella on the pancakes then cat banana.

"Nope," I said. "Mother did not get this kind of food, well, she sometimes has some herself. But I never get to try them, she only gives me food to survive. You know, hard bread and butter." He gave me a pitiful glance, "Don't"

"Don't what?" He asked as he gave me the now pancake with all its toppings.

"Don't pity me," I said, not looking into his eyes as I started cutting it ready to taste it, I have always wanted to try pancakes, but it just never came to mind, I don't know how. Weirdly, I never asked for it since I first moved to the castle where I could have anything I want.

"I am not," he said. "I admire you, you are the bravest woman I have ever met."

I gave an exasperated huff and waved him off, "Nah" I said right before taking a bite, "oh my god" he chuckled, "it's so good!" he nodded.

"Yes, you are." He insisted, I stared at him, my mouth full I blushed then chuckled after I swallowed. "You like it that much huh?" I nodded.

"I am nothing compared to you mother," I said, remembering the stories Destiny told me about her. Even before taking her last breath, she stood brave, not afraid of the knives held to her neck.

He smiled in remembrance, "you are just as brave, you might not know it, or believe it. But I see so much of her in you, you would have got along. Two brave women ruling the world"

I chuckled, "I know I would have loved her." I nudged his shoulder, "I would thank her for raising such a gentleman," he smiled, "Darius of course."

He shoved me slightly, and gave me an offended stare. "Hey!"

"What?" I raised a brow, then bust out laughing. "I am just joking, I would thank her for the home she gave me, this kingdom of course" he rolled his eyes, I shifted closer to him and played with his dark her. "I would thank her for Clyde Reed Dandrige." I whispered, then leaned in until our lips touched. His soft lips- better than pancakes. I pulled back and chuckled at the thought.

"What?" He asked, I shock my head. "Tell me!"

"I just-" I blushed, "I thought that you-" am I really going to say it? "I thought you taste better than pancakes"

Oh my god.

He started at me, I stared back. Then he bust out laughing which made me sigh in relief before I joined him by laughing. "Well thank you for that" he said, smirking.

Then I realised, it is the first kiss we had since the airport one. One step closer.

I leaned back in, wanting more but-
