Chapter Twenty-Four: I'm The Hybrid

When I start vamp speeding towards them they are caught off guard. I start with one of the weaker ones first. A man who's about my height. He doesn't have much muscle. I pin him to the ground. I can see the fear that is now present in his eyes.

"You can't kill me," He says confidently despite the fear in his eyes.

I put my hand in his chest in wrap my hand around his heart. I can feel his heart slowly beating in my hand. I feel myself hesitate and he smiles sickly at me.

"Do it Megan, it's okay," I hear Jack say telepathically.

He looks at me  desperately and then I crush his heart inside his chest. I then start speed around and kill the entire Morgan family ripping out their heart no matter how much they begged. Their hurting my family they deserve to die. The members of the White family start to fight back and I feel some of my ribs breaking. I kill the only woman left and I'm left with the leader The vampire from the school and who I assume is his brother. The vampire from the school gets me pinned against a tree. He puts his inside my chest. The pain isn't as bad as I expected to be but it's burns. I look over at Adam and I see the fear in his eyes.

"I'll be okay, I love you," I tell him using my telepathy.

"You're dead Ross," He says and I laugh

"Am I?" I ask as he try's to crush my heart. When he realizes that he can't I laugh again.

"What the hell," He mutters under his breath. "What are you!" He yells in my face.

"Me?" I ask giving him a small smile. "I'm the Hybrid,"

"Think of your wolf," Jen tells me

I feel myself start to change. The pain sears through me but it's quick. He lets me go and they all look at me in fear. I pin the vampire from school to the ground.

"You started this and now I'm going to end it," I tell him as I see his confidence turn to fear.

I bite him on the throat I know this won't kill him but it will slow him down.

"What do I do?" I ask Jack and Ryan

"Vampires can't live without their head so rip it off," They both say bluntly.

With that, I bite down on his neck and quickly twist it off with a sickening crunch. I do it so quickly that he doesn't even have time to scream. I can feel his father and brother trying to pull me off of him. However I'm stronger so they don't even move me by an inch. I change back fully aware that my clothes are now torn.

"You have a choice, you both surrender or I kill you both right here, right now,"

"Melanie!" The leader yells, The witch I forgot about her.I see her in the corner of my eye. Her eyes are glazed over and she has a look of fear in her eyes."Kill her!" He orders

"I ca..n't," She stutters "She's the Hybrid nothing can kill her," He speeds over to her and puts his arm around her neck.

"Kill her, or I kill you," He orders tightening his grip. The other guy goes to grab me but I flip him over my shoulder and crush his heart."It's just me and you," I say "let the girl go," I order

"You deserve to die, you hurt my family," He snarls

"I hurt your family?," "Your family hurt me!" I yell This makes him angry and I can tell that he is ready to snap this girls neck. Am I faster than him, I don't know. If I don't try a innocent girl will end up dead. She's been hypnotized by these vampires so everything she is doing is against her will.

"Meg, I know you're faster than him, just focus," Jack's voice breaks me out of my thoughts. I speed behind them and manage to get my hand on the leaders heart.

"Let her go," I say slowly squeeze my hand. His hold on her neck weakens and she falls to the ground.

"What did you do to her?!" I ask

"I hypnotized her, she's under my control,"

"Not anymore," I say and then completely crush his heart. I immediately run over to Melanie. She's on the ground. I gently put my hand on her shoulder, she flinches."Easy sweetheart it's over now," I say crouching down in front of her. She looks at me, fear noticeably etched in her features.

"Are you going to kill me?" She whispers

"No sweetheart, I'm not going to kill you," I tell her reassuringly. "Can you unfreeze my family please?" I ask her gently, she nods and snaps her fingers. I look over and everyone is moving again. I notice that Melanie is still shaking which is understandable."It'll be okay, I can do something to help but I need you to trust me," I tell her

"They killed my family," She cries,This breaks my heart, a girl this young be taken and having to watch her family get killed. I gently place my hand under her chin and get her to look at me.

"Melanie, you are going to go to sleep okay, your going to have some good dreams and when you wake up you'll be somewhere safe," I say hypnotizing her. Her eyes widen when she realizes what I did. I look at her sadly as her eyes glaze over and finally close her body then goes limp as I hold her up gently. I lay her down and that's when everything hit me like a train. I know what's happening to me I'm going into shock. I start shaking uncontrollably and I'm getting black spots in my vision.

"Adam?" I call, I feel a pair of arms wrap around my body.

"I'm right here," He says and I feel him lay me down.

"Did we win?" I ask starting to get confused.

"Yes, you won all by yourself," He says smiling down at me.

"I'm so tired," I whisper the dark spots in my vision growing bigger.

"I know love, it's alright go to sleep," I get a wave of pain and I must scream out because I hear Adam trying to comfort me."It's alright Meg, we'll get you and the girl home safe and sound," He says softly. My eyes shut as the pain fades away and I'm taken into a blanket of darkness.
