30|Moments That Last Forever

Fragmented {The Reason #2}

"Accept yourself, love yourself, and keep moving forward. If you want to fly, you have to give up what weighs you down."

― Roy T. Bennett,

Bree's POV.

Ever heard of heart fluttering with happiness? That's what I'm feeling right now, with everyone important in my life sitting right in front of me laughing and talking about beautiful memories. After so many years, I no longer feel the void of my parents, my best friends and Jared because I've just gotten lucky to find people who treat me like family. Ricky and Rachel are part of our family and there's nothing I'd want more than that.

Who ever said that family is just blood related is totally wrong and the people in my life prove it wrong. I feel someone's arm around my shoulders and I turn to look at Jackson, "You've got no idea how happy I am right now. Seeing you smile like this, I feel like you're finally getting everything you deserve and that wouldn't have been possible without Aiden,"

"And it's because of you Jackson. If it weren't for your support all along, I wouldn't have been this person I am now and you've got no idea how lucky I feel to have you as my brother," I could feel my eyes tearing up while having this heart to heart conversation with Jackson.

He pulls me into a hug making me cry into his shoulder, "In spite of having to deal with mom and dad's death in your own way, you never left me alone. You made me see the good in what I had and you dealt with my stubborn ass," he lets out a small laugh at my last statement.

Luckily the light coming from the bonfire wasn't much so no one could see me crying, "Aiden and I are going to make this announcement to everyone at once but I want you to know it first," he nods waiting for me to continue and a smile makes it way to my face before revealing to him.

"I'm pregnant," I look at Jackson's face that glows with happiness clear on his face, "Damn it Bree I can't explain how happy I am right now,"

He kisses my forehead and we just spend some time sitting there in silence. No words can explain how we feel right now and we both know we miss mom and dad a lot right now, "We've got to visit mom, dad and Jared too,"

I remind him and he nods, "Wouldn't miss that kitty," smiling at my nickname I look around for Aiden who's busy with the barbeque along with Ricky.

"I'll be right back, Amanda needs me,"

"Okay but remember, the news is a secret," he nods smiling before heading towards Amanda. I rub my arms as the cool air tickles my skin giving me goosebumps. Well I should've just worn Aiden's hoodie when he asked me to but well guess who was over-confident about the weather? Me.

Just then I feel a pair of warm arms embracing me and I immediately know its Aiden, "Well aren't you feeling cold now?" he smirks.

"Stop giving me that, 'I told you so' look," I say getting comfortable in his warm embrace.

"Look who's being bossy now," I smile before pecking his lips teasingly.

He gives me a warning look making me giggle, "How about a round of spanking baby doll?"

I raise an eyebrow at his sudden question, "I'd surely love to see you try,"

"Are you challenging me Ms. Adams?"

"Yes Mr. Kink," I giggle making him grin, "challenge accepted,"

"But first let's warm you up. Want some hot chocolate?"

"I definitely wouldn't mind that," I smile widely standing up and walking with him hand in hand.

I pour myself some hot chocolate while Aiden presses his chest against my back making a shrill run down my spine. His hands caresses the almost invisible baby bump making me smile and lean back against him, "I've got to ask you something,"

"Okay, what is it?" I ask him as he releases his hands around me.

"Well, I wasn't going to give you a choice in this matter but again got to do things the traditional way," I give him a confused look waiting for him to get to the point.

Everyone start gathering around us and I look at Jackson and Ricky who are grinning ear to ear. I'm sure that I'm the only one who doesn't know what's going on. Just then something catches my eye, Aiden down on one knee holding a ring, "Bree Adams, would you do the extraordinary honor of marrying me?"

My eyes tears up looking down at Aiden, "Yes," is all I could choke out. Aiden slips the beautiful ring onto my finger and hugging me tight while I could hear 'finally' from everyone.

"I love you baby doll,"

"I love you Aiden," I wipe my tears before stepping back from his embrace still too overwhelmed with everything.

"We've got some news to share with you guys before we get to celebrating," Aiden voices out my thoughts.

Jackson walks up next to me with the happiest smile and wraps an arm around my shoulders, "I'm sure they'll love the news,"

He reassures me while I take a deep breath before announcing, "We're having a baby,"

"With both of you all sexed up since you got back together, I saw this coming," Ricky laughs making everyone else laugh a little too while I'm blushing hard.

"Well everyone here knows who's all sexed up all the time," Aiden says making me laugh this time.

"Whatever, congratulations guys. I'm so happy for you both," he says hugging me tight and then Aiden. I guess this was the actual surprise that Aiden has been planning.

I stare at the beautiful diamond ring on my finger while thinking about today's events, "Here you go,"

Aiden places a bowl full of mint chocolate chip ice cream making me smile widely as he sits down on the bed opposite to me, "What are you thinking about?"

"Just about how I never noticed you planning all this. Everything seems like a dream right now,"

He cups my face and rests his forehead against mine, "You deserve all the happiness baby doll and this..."

He takes my hand in his and runs his fingers over the ring, "I've had this in mind right when I decided I'm not letting go of you again but I had to wait for the right time,"

"You asked Jackson first, didn't you?" I ask him curiously.

"Of course I did and turns out he's been waiting for me to finally grow some balls and ask you," both of us laugh at what he says before I pull him into a kiss. I didn't get to have a moment alone with him since he went down on one knee. He kisses back making me smile against his lips.

"I'm sure you would want to have melted ice-cream," Aiden laughs pointing at the ice-cream that already started melting making me giggle before I start having it. I look around the room I once spent all my days and had the memories of the best high school days with Aiden, Ricky and Rachel.

Aiden starts massaging my feet and I smile in gratitude, "You're the best,"

"I try," he grins. I finish my ice-cream and pull Aiden to snuggle giggling at his protests.

"Why don't you want to just relax? You didn't even sleep during the flight," I ask him while resting my head on his chest.

"I'm just obsessed with looking at you sleep with a smile and I just can't get myself to sleep since I got to know you're pregnant," he explains looking down at me while faintly touching my belly. Knowing Aiden, I'm sure he just doesn't want to miss a moment of this pregnancy.

"Aiden I'd wake you up if I need anything even if it's two at night so don't worry about it," I tell him smiling and he just nods. I know he keeps thinking of Jayden a lot and there's nothing I can do to make him stop.

"Can we get married within two months?" Aiden asks me with a cheesy smile.

"A wedding needs a lot of planning and two months are really less but maybe we can make it work," I reply smiling. I want us to be married before this baby comes out too so I don't see a problem with rushing things a little bit.

Aiden snuggles his face into the crook of my neck, "I want you to plan your dream wedding though. I'm sorry for wanting to rush things up but I want you to relax instead of stressing about the wedding during the pregnancy,"

"You needn't explain Aiden," I tell him snuggling closer to him while he rubs circles on my back making me yawn. "Goodnight Aiden,"

"Goodnight baby doll. Love you,"

"Love you too Aiden and thanks for this wonderful surprise,"

"You deserve the best baby,"

"I already have the best," I say poking his chest with a smile.

Could this day get any better? I don't think so.
