Chapter 16
âSo, as I said yesterday, I look forward to seeing you again.â
âYes.â
She will make this business a success under her name, not the Todd family. She will leave Todd with all the wealth and honor. After losing everything and seeing them in ruins, she would go to Ireneâs side.
Azela raised her head with a confident gaze.
âGood.â
Hearing her powerful answer, Zagnac rose from the bed without regret, leaving with a charming smile. He strode toward the window sill with gentle steps again.
Azela was wondering if he might look back. However, he said that it is enough to fill the energy within a certain period, so maybe not today
Still, she was tense until the very end as she watched his back with narrowed eyes.
âAfter I leave, take off your dress. You look stuffy in it.â
ââ¦.!â
Zagnac, who was sitting on the window sill, gently waved his hand and left the last words as playful as if teasing her and disappeared just like last night.
When she saw him disappearing through the window, she was neither astonished nor fussed like yesterday. It seemed that she had gotten used to it in a day.
Through the open window, the moon and stars twinkled in the sky. She thought as she recalled the purple eyes that were shining without depth. He must have taken the moon and the stars from the sky and put them in his eyes.
Azela, who was about to lower the blanket and take off the dress, suddenly glanced out the window again. Somehow, the moon and stars illuminating the bedroom and the twinkling sky were like his pupils.
She was eventually able to take off the blanket and the dress in a hot and laborious way.
âI was asked to bring you for breakfast.â
From early in the morning, Azela frowned at the story told by the servant Daniel sent.
To have breakfast together
It hadnât happened in about a year. It was clear it wasnât meant to be good, though she agreed.
There was no longer any reason for her to avoid them in the first place. Besides, it was Daniel who would come to her bedroom and stirred things up and down, no matter what she did. At least, she didnât want Daniel to enter her bedroom.
Walking out of the bedroom, she took the paper she had folded finely in her drawer.
âYouâre here.â
As she entered the dining room, she could see Daniel and Sylvia sitting side by side first. Azela, who saw it, quietly sat across from Daniel. She seemed to take it for granted, too. It seemed that the two had already started eating before she arrived.
If it was like the past, she would have been annoyed by that appearance, but now, it didnât matter.
As Azela, who stared at the two with insignificant glances, picked up the tableware and took a bite, Daniel calmly spoke to her.
âAre you acquainted with Duke Ferial by any chance?â
âCough, cough.â
Startled by Danielâs sudden mention of Zagnac, she choked and coughed continuously. The maid standing next to her casually handed her water, and for some reason, Daniel waited patiently for her cough to subside.
âI heard rumors about him, but yesterday was the first time I met him in person.â
She answered in a trembling voice. It was the first time she had told a lie to Daniel so openly. Azela drank the water again.
âI see.â
Daniel, whom she expected to notice, moved on without the slightest doubt. He was duller than she had thought.
Why did she think she could never fool a person like this? No, did she really just not want to fool him Azela put down the glass of water with a confused look as she recalled the past her acting like a fool.
âRemember all of your future conversations with Duke Ferial and pass them on to me. Iâll tell you all the general details of the business, so you can go ahead.â
âWhatâ¦?â
At Danielâs command, she asked back with an absurd voice. Azela, would have replied âyesâ in the usual way. However, as she was about to eat her food, Daniel shut his mouth and looked at her with sharp eyes.
He then snorted and said to her.
âIsnât that obvious? Hey Azela, what do you think you can do now? Does business look like a childrenâs playhouse? You didnât think I would leave such an important matter to you, did you?â
ââ¦.â
He ignored her, of course, as always.
As he glanced down, Azela just stood still and listened to his rant. Sylvia, who was next to Daniel, put her food in her mouth and smiled at Azelaâs calm appearance.
âYou may be young and have never failed in business, so you like adventures like that. Azela, are you going to ruin someone elseâs business?â
In his sharp tone, she closed her mouth without saying a word, and Daniel, with a satisfied smile, continued his words.
âTo Duke Ferial, itâs your decision, so go around it in moderation. I guess he felt threatened by me, so I guess he chose you, who canât do anything unlike me, as his partner.â
âIt means that our Daniel is such a capable man. Duke Ferial must have been jealous of Daniel.â
Sylvia quickly agreed to his words and smiled like a flower. Daniel looked content at the sight and embraced Sylvia in his arms. His hand stroking her chest was explicit since morning.
Azela looked at them and frowned. Daniel, who didnât mind her sitting opposite him, slid his hand into Sylviaâs dress and pressed a deep kiss to her lips. Her eyes could see saw the tongues of the two entangled with each other.
At the disgusting sight, Azela couldnât look at it until the end and lowered her gaze to look at the food in front of her. Her appetite dropped, and she couldnât salivate even after seeing the food. Sylviaâs unhindered moan echoed loudly along with the gurgling sound of her v*gina in her ear.
Her moan grew louder as if she was deliberately trying to make Azela listen.
âThe first thing we will do is select a site. Letâs proceed on the land on our side. Then, we can receive the full amount of land use fee in a timely mannerâ¦â
Before Danielâs heated words could be finished, she pulled out a folded piece of paper from her arms and placed it on the table.
After kissing Sylvia for a while, he turned his gaze to look at the paper on the table before asking with a satisfied smile at Azelaâs gaze, who still couldnât look straight at him.
âWhat is this?â
âOpen it.â
It was a familiar paper, though Daniel didnât seem to recall his memory. With his hand out of Sylviaâs skirt, Daniel picked up the paper that had been placed on the table. His wet hands felt dirty. With a short kiss on Sylviaâs lips, he smiled happily and unfolded the folded paper.
The next moment, his face quickly turned red. The moment he read the paper, he tore it to pieces and jumped up from his seat.
âAzela!â
ââ¦I didnât give it to you first, but you asked for it. What are you so upset about?â
Azela, who wiped her lips with the napkin placed in front of her, raised her gaze with an unconcerned expression to face him. Daniel, who threw the torn divorce papers in his hand at Azela, took a deep breath.
âThat was before you took on this business.â
Daniel strode with his long legs and grabbed Azela by the collar and lifted her up. His rough behavior seemed to show no consideration for her. His eyes were burning with anger.
âDo you think everything will be okay since you take over the business? The world is not easy! Do you think everything will go your way like before?â
Daniel screamed and slammed her to the floor in a fit of anger. His wild strength forced Azela to fall to the ground helplessly. Her head went blank for a moment. No matter how harsh he was, he had never touched her this way.
Azela looked at Daniel with eyes full of fear as well as surprise. His face was filled with only anger as he took a deep breath.
He said harshly, wiping his wet hands on the tablecloth.
âYou and I will break up after this business is completely closed to the Todd family. Until then, I have no intention of letting you go so easily. Divorce will never happen, so donât even dream of it.â
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
