The full moon Ch 13
What makes a Master Merchant
Tealla led Kaga to a neat room with three beds and various medical equipment. The shelves were full of potions and powders and a little notebook was laid open on the desk. It was full of drawings and symbols Kaga couldn't understand.
"Oh, don't mind that. It's just a recent project of mine."
"I've never seen these symbols."
"Unless your ass deep in the rabbit hole called mana engineering, I wouldn't expect it anyways."
He took off a few bottles of the shelves and sprinkled some liquid on one of the beds. Kaga followed suit.
"So you are an engineer. Somehow I imagined a different profession. Most engineers I've met looked, well, different."
"Is it so hard to imagine a fashionista with more than two braincells?"
"That's not what I meant. If I offended you, I apologize."
Tealla just looked at him with dumbfounded expression, blinking fast. He turned away and muttered a few words.
"No, it's fine. I'm just a little worked up thatâs all."
His ears turned red while continuing the preparations. Kaga was watching him intently and thought to himself that the mage had a quite cute side to him.
The next thing on the to do list was cooking. Kaga helped chopping the vegetables while Tealla took care of the spices.
"You must love cooking. Every time I see you, you're in the kitchen making something delicious."
"Yeah it helps me calm my mind and organize my thoughts. Most of my ideas come when I'm tasting something. Dime said to only cook as much as I want to, as she can afford to have us buy restaurant food every meal, but I like it better to know what ingredients we are putting in our body."
"Everyone seems to have their own role in the house."
Tealla stirred the pot and gave Kaga a spoonful to taste. The meal was already a delight to the tasting buds.
"Of cource. Mira oversees accounting and staff like that. She is a little weird, but her mind is fascinating. Then there is her stupid brother. Guy's a genius alchemist. All the potions and powders we use, and export are made by him. Nalaka, you haven't met her, but she is one fierce mercenary. Also, the old hag is the greatest shaman ever. She can make vast fields have plentiful harvest."
"Speaking of her, I haven't seen her all day."
Tealla's jaw clenched. His eyes focused on the pot.
"Yeah, she is busy with preparations. It's easier if you see it with your own eyes this evening."

Kaga wondered what awful thing is in process for everyone to be this worked up about. Half an hour later they stood before the room where the girls and Ray was.
They opened the door, and a gore scene was unfolding before their eyes. The little snake still sleeping but cuddled to Dime. Mira was working near the bed, but the bottom of her dress stained with blood. She barely looked up to them as they walked in. But the real deal was the Lady. She was wheezing while oozing blood of her mouth and under the mask. Beside the bed was a bucked full of red puke. Her black dress crinkly from dried blood.
"What in the world..."
Kaga raised his voice, but Mira hushed him.
"Please be quiet, she just fell asleep a few minutes ago."
"We will just leave the food on the table. Call me if you need help."
Tealla's calm voice shocked Kaga even further. Mira just nodded as they left the scene. When they reached downstairs Kaga could no longer restrain himself.
"What was that?
"Don't worry it ends tonight."
"So that is the reason we prepared the beds so thoroughly? So that she doesn't die?"
Tealla looked troubled too. He hated this procedure, but he could not stop it.
"It will end soon."
Dime only woke up when the sun started to set. She was surrounded by a heavy number of bloodied towels. She slipped out of bed careful not to wake the napping kids. Her route started at the bath. She methodically scrubbed herself clean as the bathwater turned into a pinkish color. She felt a lot better after sleeping, but still her whole body ached.
She took a sorry look on the clothes she wore and set them on fire. If she left them be Mathilda would surely spend hours getting the filth out of them, so she rather just buy a different one. The robe she had to wore to the ceremony was already hanged in the room, so she could be sure that Mathilda was ready and waiting for her, but she took her time.
She got dressed put back the mask on and slowly got into the backyard. She found the shaman inside a magic circle chanting quietly. She sat down the chair that was prepared out of vines in the circle. The pressure coming from the shaman slowly grew heavier. The gray hair fluttered in the wind.
The chanting came to a stop and Mathilda took out a long knife and slit her wrist without flinching. The blood coming out didn't drop to the ground, rather it raised upwards. Her eyes became glowing green, and her hair took a pink color. She looked like a blooming flower in the spring wind.
"You here?"
Dime was patiently waiting until her transformation was complete.
"Third-eye! It feels like I haven't seen you in ages. Wow you look like shit as always, hahahha!"
The sharp contrast between the ethereal looking woman and her foul mouth would make any spectacle blink in confusion.
"Ostrara, still having your proxy offer blood, you're pretty outdated. As for me I totally feel fine."
"Hah show off. But don't blame me too much for asking you to not take drugs when you're meeting me."
"Why would I blame you? It was my choice to accept your terms."
Ostrara's mouth was in a wide smile, but her eyes remained cold. Dime didn't mind her too much.
"Anyways, rejoice child! I finally got the stamp of the geezer, so next time we meet you can get it."
"That is great news indeed. But aren't you the older one?"
The goddess pouted at the comment.
"That old fart always acts like he's the shit so I can call him whatever. But never mind that, are there any interesting news for me? I saw you got another pet. A goat I think?"
"He's half ram."
Ostrara chuckled as Dime corrected her. Her shoulder moving up and down with her hair looked enticing.
"Yes him! He is sooo close to get his badge, but not chasing it. Wasting his potential really."
"I think so too, but enough of him, let's talk business here."
Ostrara just rolled her beautiful green eyes before getting into a more serious conversation. They talked for what felt like an eternity, but for others it was only but a secund.
"Hmm...so basically everything just getting worse. Well good luck with the dipshit humans. Oh, and before I forget. You can drug yourself as much as you need next time. The stamp is kinda really fucking hurts to get."
"Yeah thanks for the warning. Good bye for now!"
"Bye bye third-eye!!
With that Ostrara left Mathilda's body and both the shaman and Dime collapsed.
